Aggro/Face decks aren't a problem in general, they're actually a necessary component to a healthy meta. Pirate Warrior feels a little bit absurd though, I must admit.

Exactly. Only Small-Time Buccaneer is imbalanced and blizzard will address it. All these whiners should go to salt forum and this thread should be locked.

The thing about aggro decks is that they HAVE to exist, but they can NEVER actually be top of the meta.
As far as I remember, no actual aggro deck has every been popular for more than a month. When Old Gods came out, Aggro Shaman was the shit and people were crying for nerfs to doomhammer, trogg, dr. 4 and so on and so forth until midrange shaman replaced it completely by virtue of being more flexible.
Same happened to the very aggressive dragon warrior who in the end just ended up way more midrange.
Aggro decks usually acted as a double edged sword. Yes, you can rush your opponent down quickly and get an easy winstreak, but once people start teching in counters it becomes harder and harder until aggro is jsut too ineffective for ladder.
The problem now is that there's just no way to fully counter aggro. The Turn 1 pirate powerplay is just imposible to deal with, which means in the average game, aggro decks will always have an edge over any non-pirate deck. The strategy against aggro used to be that you just throw everything you have at their minions to prevent as much damage as possible until you are able to stabilize with taunts.....but that just doesn't work now since you're constantly t´fghting over the board while STILL taking damage almost every turn.
It's baically a throwback to pre-nerf Face Hunter who ran so many charge minions and direct damage and managed to outpressure you by dealing damage immdeiately and filling the board, which meant you had to both heal and clear the board, which a lot of decks just couldn't do.
Tl;DR aggro gets too much of a headstart now and there are to fe cards that can swing the board in a meanngful way when it matters most
or Doomsayer can be enough in well constructed decks...
Wrong, pirate warrior can give 7 damage to a coined Doomsayer played in your turn 1, if this is ok for you then better dusting all yours 6 cost or more cards...
As for playing C'Thun Mage - feelsbadman. I'd really like to play that deck (actually thought about making one a few days ago), but it's memeworthy and for casual mode. Which sucks, because I actually love that deck :/
If you think that's totally fine and healthy for the game you must be <snip>
A plain old budget Face Hunter (which has been around literally since the beginning of Hearthstone) would destroy this weird C'Thun Mage nonsense almost as fast. This deck losing horribly to aggro? Yes, that is totally fine and healthy for the game.
If C'Thun Mage were somehow favored against aggro, THEN we'd have a serious problem.
It's Turn 3, damn it. Doesn't matter what deck you're playing you're just doomed from that point on unless you specifically made a deck to counter this BS, and just managed to draw everything that you needed to.
Don't worry guys, Blizzard will nerf Pirates eventually, just gotta wait 6 months more.

Good morning, blizzard announced balance patch coming late february. It's coming after 3 months, still long but an improvement over 6+ months. I hope it decreases down to 1 month.
This deck would also lose horribly against renolock, dragon priest etc. Just not spectacular like this.
Sure, aggro is a natural and healthy part of any card game; but I'm with the OP on this one. Way too good too early. Not at all fun; no chance for interaction at all. To defend against that kind of start you'd have to go way over the top with your tech choices.
Which is why I'm playing a lot less of this game than I used to. Just fulfilling quests these days. And no longer exchanging quests for the most lucrative ones; instead, looking for the quickest and easiest ones.

I had 12 health. On turn 3.
I like to make cards and discuss game balance.
I enjoy when "No similar decks were found."
My latest deck: http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/1366184-scholomance-charge-rez-priest-wild
Playing a weak deck and then losing to a strong deck = Salt

Stay thirsty my friends
It's called power creep.
It's called "The unstoppable Ben Brode" - Card text: Win the game in under 6 turns by playing pirate warrior xD
I hate this aggro/face retarded shit, but then again control is nothing without it and there is nothing more satisfying than defeating an aggro player
on the bright side: best time to get your 500 wins for warrior/shaman golden portrait...
Welcome to the mean streets of gadgetzan where games are over by turn 5!

Trying Real Hard To Keep Hunter Relevant
I tried having fun once. It was awful.
Overpowered 1-drops and that's pretty much it.

I've no clue what I'm doing...
Playing with the class with the most AoEs yet killed by 2 health minions.
Now you know Volcanic Potion is your friend.
Well, at least you managed to wake up after apparently napping in a cave for the past couple months. On a related note, trump won the election.
