During the last weeks, we had a lot of rant about power lvl of warrior and why its so much played. And an argument i saw quiet a lot was:
Warrior needs strong cards because his hero power is bad.
I wanna pin point out one thing, in a world where Combo>control>midrange>agro>combo. Warrior Hero power is utterly broken imo. Since a warrior control wins vs combo just by default due to hero power.
And i think thats part of the reason warrior is played so much. Its instantly winning in matchups like freeze mage, worgen version etc. which by game balance it should not be able to.
I dont ask for a nerv here but I think, there should be a punish card for mass Armor. Like there is a counter card to secrets. If combo is able to beat warrior it would defenitely be good for the health of the game.
Atm its like, why would i play control priest? I lose auto to worgen combo, so Control warrior is always the go to and I get punished by the game if I dont play control warrior.
Public Mod Note
(Chimera):
Moved to Warrior forum.
nooope, warrior HP is ofc powerful in control archetype due to Shield Slam synergy.
in all other variants (dragon, tempo, pirate) is useless (ok,it can save your ass if you play against freeze mage).
take a look at arena...probably warrior hero power is worst of all without any impact on board, even SMOrcing shot is better.
Arena is a different thing since you cant build a reliable control deck. Also my topic is about Control/Combo matchup thus nobody needs to argue if warrior hero power is good in tempo because that was not my point.
But at least you agree that its broken vs freeze mage and thats basically agreeing that this hero power messes with Paper Scissor game balance.
By what metric? If you mean value, then no - which is why it sucks in arena. Do you mean "good in exactly this ladder meta", then it is pretty good because we have a lot of very powerful snowball decks and warrior hero power can mean survival for slow decks.
It is far from best on ladder however, which is evident in account of the best current warrior decks using it as little as possible.
Most importantly though: Using single decks that struggle against specific hero powers as proof they are somehow "overpowered" is misguided. Warrior hero power is not good at all versus mid-range hunter for example, by your logic that means it sucks.
Priest, Mage and Hunter is 3 best hero power in the game. But tank up is best upgrade hero power in the game. The strength of Warrior rely on their Class card being way too strong (low cost removal, reliable board clear, high impact class minion, fwa ..etc). The best hero power in the game is Warlock, Follow by Hunter (for tempo/SMOrc) and Priest (for control).

It's generally considered one of the weakest - it typically doesn't gain much armour from use of its hero power, but from Armoursmiths, Shield Blocks, Shield Maidens, Justicar. It's weak in control match-ups, as it doesn't effect the board - if it is denied armour gain from its minions, it has trouble getting maximum value from its Shield Slams.
Warlock has the best hero power, the reason that warrior is so popular is because of how good their cards are at countering aggro decks like shaman, while they're still able to beat other control decks..
Playing CW since started game. Against tempo/midrange decks i would trade my hero power with anything else. And as other poeple said, best hero power is tap. Mosr populer deck is dragon warrior and this deck running Finley. Think about it.
And upgrade. Best upgraded hero power is paladin's. Neverending 1/1s.. They are good against aggro. And no control or combo deck can deal that much minions in long games.
First of all, your matcup diagram is wrong. Control>aggro>midrange>control.
Second, you can't stuff combo decks in that diagram.
Third, Warrior's hero power is the best one ONLY in control, and ONLY against combo and aggro. That's not enough to claim it's the best one because in other situations it's one of the worst ones.
Fourth, CW is far from the best Warrior deck currently.
Warrior has the best hero power in context of deck building.
Warlock has the best hero power in isolation.
No, not at all. Warrior hero power is actually bad, it has very little value. Try grinder mage versus control warrior and see for yourself.
It's good versus a smaller selection of specific decks, and that's pretty much it. Other than that, you use it mostly because of the synergy with shield slam in control builds.
Look, I want to tell you something because you're very dear to me. And I hope you understand that it comes from the bottom of my damaged, damaged heart. You are the finest piece of ass I've ever had and I don't care who knows it. I am so glad that I got to roam those hillsides.
Their hero power isn't bad, nor is it good. The best hero power in the game is warlock, maybe mages. The worst, is rogues.
Lol, are you kidding right? Rogue hero power is not one of the best in constructed, but it is not the worst, although in arena it is one of the best by far. Druid has the worst hero power (it is terrible in late game, and not as good as rogue and mage in the early game). Shaman's one used to be very bad too (because of it being too random), but with all the totem sinergy nowdays, that is a thing of the past.

warrior has the worst hero power
Not when you have cards that sinergy with it like Shield Slam and when also really helps you to usually survive vs smorc, some decks like freeze mage (in this matchup the hero power is great) and others that use burst combos. Now tell me which great cards has druid that sinergy with his hero power (don't tell me Savagery please), a hero power that is not as good as mage or rogue in the early game, and usually it is a piece of trash in the late game?

Warlock has the best hero power.

If warrior was the best hero power then they wouldn't run Sir Finley in any of their decks.
Your problem is armor, not the hero power, which is mediocre at best. Their best ways to get armor come from other sources.

No. Mage has the best hero power, OP.

Warrior has the worst hero power in the game. Warlock has the best one, that's why warlock is an OK class despite having pretty weak cards.
I would say Warrior is 2nd, I think Warlock's Life Tap is better
best hero power is warlock's
second bests are mage's and druid's
third ones are paladin's , hunte'rs and rogue's
worst hero powers are warrior's, shamman's, and priest's
