Real problem is Possessed Lackey's recruit mechanic - Without it, Doomguard would be unplayable ( Control deck just can't throw 2 cards away ).
Whole recruit mechanic is big mistake, lol.
Recruit is fine as long as it is properly balanced. No one is upset about Kathrena or Silver Vanguard. But for whatever reason, they decided to make and epic card that was vastly more powerful than a legendary or any other recruit.
Dark pact is on the strong side I agree. It's funny how it costs 1 ( instead of 3 like the other heal 8 spells ) because you need to sac a minion but in Cubelock sacing a minion is actually a good thing most of the time with cards like Carnivorous Cube and Possessed Lackey . That said...I've been playing since the beta and the Control Warlock archetype only existed when there was good healing options for warlock ( There was one time in the beginning Handlock was thing without really good healing but 20 mana Molten Giant was there and aggro wasn't nearly as powerful ). So powerful healing needs to exist for Control Warlock to be a thing and I and many others enjoy that archetype. Also, maybe just my opinion but strong defensive cards feel a lot better to play against than strong aggressive cards ( I don't know anyone that enjoyed playing against pre nerf Small-Time Buccaneer , Tunnel Trogg , Mana Wyrm etc ) . I guess it's because defensive cards don't kill you.
Also OP... I do not feel shame for playing an archetype that requires brains , can be countered and doesn't use a toxic strategy (in my opinion) just because it's strong in the meta. Is rushing your opponent down with murlocs before they can do anything fun with their deck more ,,honorable,, ? How about OTK-ing them through taunts and full hp ? I think Cubelock is the least toxic tier 1 deck we've had in a long time.

No one is complaining about Kathreena, cuz it is hunter card - SLOW hunter card. Vanguard is just underpowered.
Many decks currently counter Cubelock, including; Control Lock, Aggro Pally, Murloc Pally, Burn Mage, Big Priest (If it highrolls), and to a lesser extent Mill/Kingsbane Rogue. Even with Dark Pact the deck is far from unstoppable.
Dont forget about exodia mage. Im undefeated against them with the questless version
Cubelock is fine, it's the first meta in a while where Miracle rogue is actually a deck, meaning it's not even that oppressive - getting rekt by saps and all that.
The "problem" if we must point one out, isn't Lackey - that requires two cards at 6 mana. Plenty of other archetypes do that much if not more with 6 mana and 2 cards, nor is it skull, having about 95000 effects that render it null and void. It's not even the charger, since it wasn't that big of a deal coming out of the 3/4 Voidcaller...
..It's the bleeping 1 drop. 2/1 body is worth 1 mana, though it's a rather meh body all in all, which leaves a 0-mana draw a card effect with a downside of losing 2 life? Don't think any class would say no to it. As a matter of fact, everyone but big priest and meme-spell-hunter would instantly include two of these. It's a Patches effect, which you can have two of in the deck. On top of that there's the synergy in the warlock class in particular that makes it so much better, defiles, spellstones, all the healing effects etc. It would be included in every deck in the game even as a 1/1 and arguably some decks would play it as a 0/1. That card would look better as a 2-drop with slightly better stats. 2 mana 2/2 or even 2/3 would slow the warlock down considerably and the higher-hp would nerf it even further through reducing defile and mortal coil possibilities.
Just my 2c.
Yeah Kobold Librarian is the most played card in Hs both standard and wild mode. And some streamers or pro players said its the best card in the expansion. If it were a neutral card it would be the best HS CARD and staple in every deck.
when you guys complain about dark pact, what other deck runs it exactly? It's an insane tempo loss in anything else but egg warlock, and only sees play in cubelock as a deathrattle trigger.
"I have seen worlds bathed in the Makers' flames, their denizens fading without as much as a whimper. Entire planetary systems born and razed in the time that it takes your mortal hearts to beat once. Yet all throughout, my own heart devoid of emotion... of empathy. I. Have. Felt. Nothing. A million-million lives wasted. Had they all held within them your tenacity? Had they all loved life as you do?"
Yeah it's the best cycle in the game and it's like running two patches. Not to mention it can fight for turn one board against anything but mage or pirate warrior weapon swings, and if it hits a mana wyrm it still makes picking that off easy. I think it should be a 1/2 deal 3 personally ,because rn it's an auto-include in every single warlock deck I play, including mechlock

lul. what are you talking... dark pact is a staple in every single controllock deck and is usually used to kill lackey or rin.
Maybe the cards that make Dark Pact seem broken are actually the problem and not the actual card itself? Am I the only one who thinks that recruit is a bad mechanic because in general being able to cheat out minions without paying their mana cost can be so easily abused as seen in aggro paladin with call of arms, big priest with Barnes and eternal servitude, and also pre nerf corridor creeper? And I have to say I have mostly seen this card used just to kill off possessed lackey's in order to cheat out Voidlords.
The card should cost less than 3 mana since healing touch is 3 mana that heals you for 8 without a drawback and there should be at least a 1 mana discount for having to kill one of your own minions, unless you completely want to make the card worthless and make it cost the the same as healing touch which in my opinion would be really stupid, but whether it should cost 1 or 2 mana is debatable.
People always cry nerf over some card or another. They coin hideous terms like "cancer decks" (I personally want to punch any user of that phrase in the face.) Then they go online and post silly forum threads like "dark pact is simply ridiculous" at 0100 after a couple of beers but..
COME ON!!
It's like the dirty secret no one is talking about. It's the warlock wet dream. The spaf shot you didn't pause in time not to see. Dark Pact is a ridiculous card and i want answers.
Cubelock is the new Jade druid and i hope you all feel ashamed of yourself for playing it.
Oh dear Old God.. another of these posts.
Can a mod please make me a mod and give me authority to ban people? :) I promise I will clean up fast and make this community great again! :D

Get over yourself mate. With your attitude you'd be an awful mod; banning everyone until only users you agreed with had a voice. The first person you'd need to ban would be yourself.

and let´s not forget about Bloodreaver Gul'dan (beyond broken) who can bring back all the Doomguard/Voidlord. Warlock has just too many insane cards but not a single one of them is fun to play against...

‘we hope these pages act as a forum for debate’
Nah sorry you misunderstand ;)
I wouldn't ban everyone until "Only users I agree with have a voice".
I will only, only, only ban people for making new "NERF THIS" threads every day. I will clean up the mess, make this community great again so these kinds of threads don't exist. Forums are about sharing information, getting smarter and having rich discussions. There is absolutely nothing intelligent about any of these threads.
fun to play against? you gotta be one of those people who consider big priest with barnes into obsidian and then resurrect that 16633788 times "fun to play against" aswell, right??
i think mana cheat decks are usually considered NOT fun to play against because of all the unfair advantages they get
If it would be unfair, everyone would play it.
Every Meta deck has its advantages. If you play an aggro deck vs big priest and he does not have Barnes you simply win.
It is also funny to see if he pulls out a 5/5 Barnes with the 6 mana spell,
yeah but the problem with control lock is you usually cant kill it before turn 5 even with super aggressive decks and after that it keeps on healing for 30+ hp while also dropping and multplying the best taunt minion in the game, until you either loose your chance to control board as an minion centric deck or run out of burn as a spell heavy deck
I don't know who you been playing, but cubelock gets beat alot by turn 5, by aggro and burn decks.
and let´s not forget about Bloodreaver Gul'dan (beyond broken) who can bring back all the Doomguard/Voidlord. Warlock has just too many insane cards but not a single one of them is fun to play against...
But when, you play a cubelock, and you handle their entire deck, that's what makes it fun to play against.
You have 2 ways to handle a cubelock, either you smorc him down quickly, before he can do anything, or you control them, wiping out the threats as they come, until they have nothing left......
For me I enjoy doing the 2nd option.

Vanguard is just underpowered.
Recruit mechanic is almost impossible to balance - Cards are OP (Possessed Lackey, That paladin 4 mana recruit) or useless ( Silver Vanguard, Dragonhatcher)

As suggested before, add a silence to it, problem solved.

Please don't tell my girlfriend about my card collection...
I hate it how easy it is to cheat out insane minions early on... Spiteful Summoner, Possessed Lackey, Barnes
and let´s not forget about Bloodreaver Gul'dan (beyond broken) who can bring back all the Doomguard/Voidlord. Warlock has just too many insane cards but not a single one of them is fun to play against...
