"I have seen worlds bathed in the Makers' flames, their denizens fading without as much as a whimper. Entire planetary systems born and razed in the time that it takes your mortal hearts to beat once. Yet all throughout, my own heart devoid of emotion... of empathy. I. Have. Felt. Nothing. A million-million lives wasted. Had they all held within them your tenacity? Had they all loved life as you do?"

I keep seeing all writing how the problem with dark pact is that it enables deathrattles. The problem with dark pact is the healing. Historically warlock weakness was burn, because the class liked playing with low hp, but with so much healing thats no longer the case
I agree that if you play an agro deck against lock with Dark Pact the insta heal for 8 can really put a halt on the game. The amount of times i've lost to a warlock who was at one point on 1hp is face to the wall annoying.

that is literally exactly what I mean? What other use does it have outside of egg warlock?
control warlock ≠ egg warlock. whats up with iyour egglock? dont know why you keep using this example in a way that suggests egglock would be an actual thing that's commonly seen on ladder
But the problem is NOT Dark Pact. It's simply Doomguard. This card should have been nerfed LONG time ago. It would not take much: simply change it to Battlecry: Discard two random cards, gain Charge.
It should only have charge when you discarded 2 cards.
thats by far the best nerf for the card I've ever read
i don't agree with that. zoo uses it and often discards 0 or 1 card. You shouldn't HAVE to discard cards so zoo can either topdeck it or manipulate their hand, but at least then you cant cheat it out and still gain the charge effect with 0 downside. And I played a lot of wild OTK cubelock when K&C came out. Now I prefer a control style deck with nzoth, sneeds and sylvanas for massive value
If Doomguard was to be nerfed this way, they would also have to think about cards like Charged Devilsaur (you can summon multiple copies via Faceless Manipulator/Menagerie Warden etc. without activating the Battlecry). Therefore I don't think this will happen. Dark Pact can be compared to Play Dead in that you're usually trying to pair it with strong Deathrattle effects. In comparison to Sacrificial Pact the 1 mana-cost seems warranted, but I think the life gain is too much. As someone already said, what distinguishes Warlock as a class is its fragility, be it due to the heropower or cards like Flame Imp/Hellfire and so on.
Well, none of the Warlock cards are really OP on their own. But, when you combine them all...it's some broke ass shit. Dark Pact, Doomguard, Voidlord, Lackey, Spellstone all in Standard at the same time? With Lifetap? C'Mon....
I'm surprised that one one pointed out that this is not the correct phonetic spelling of 'cancer. :P (except if you took that from some regional accent^^)
I think the problem are not the cards we have a mechanical problem, were the game got more complex than vanilla with to many win conditions you basically have to answer but cant since the game has no instants or target hand cards options.
In vanilla you had to keep your polymorph for ecatly sylv/Ysera and you were fine nowadays you need like 2x polymorph doomguard, 2x voildlord, Rin etc and so on.
it cant be done.
Currently there are just to many minions that are capable of winning the game alone if not anwered. which lead to single answer checks deciding the game.
How would a neutral card that lets other control decks win matchup vs cubelock look like?! Maybe like skulking gheist that destroys 10 mana cards, also keeps spiteful in check, i could see that.

Kobolds and catacombs was a mistake
It's so annoying play 3 hours against this warlock spawning Voidlord with Possessed Lackey , Carnivorous Cube, with Bloodreaver Gul'dan, with N'Zoth, the Corruptor..
Just sick.

As for your question....Call to Arms. OP.
You can see Dark Pact is a problem when Warlocks use it even only to sacrifice a minion at 30 hp.
