The really important addition is Auchenai Phantasm, because not only enables Auchenai Circle, but also get destroyed by Hemet, so doesn't make your draws worse. That actually make it a lot more consistent as you don't need Pyro + 3 spells to counter hunter spellstone, but you just need Auchenai Circle, and still has pyro as a back up. Now that you have a lot additional board clears match ups against faster deck became not so bad. I did beat Odd Rogues and Zoo from time to time if I did draw this new combo. I think it is widely overlooked, but in decks which want cheap comboes which then can be combined with card draw for combo and don't care about res pull it is pretty good.
Aslo this new Auchenai ability is "this turn" so if you have 2 circles you can board clear for 8 and even counter early mountain giants and twilight drakes sometimes. not to mention that is pretty consistent 2 card combo to counter Greater Emerald Spellstone
And against slow decks it is pretty much autowin if you don't mill your combo pieces accidentally...
Examples of the games can be found in my deck description. But here are some wins against aggro to show the point (I did lose more often still, but not as often as before expansion)
I played some other aggro decks too of course, but lost most of the time. But this one against tempo mage was very close for example, had combo ready next turn, but Aluneth is still OP: https://hsreplay.net/replay/6isd26XmEh74aJEqnCsrQX
Also had a win against Zoo, but that one was on a phone, so no replay sorry (though to be fair even version from before expansion wasn't all that bad against zoo, here I just ran them out of cards: https://hsreplay.net/replay/c8e3Y3kKmNXGcEciEv9ke5 )
So if any of you liked Mecha'thun, I think right now is the right time to jump on the train. I have not many replays with aggro, but mostly because it wasn't all that popular so time to take advantage of that, and I have good record against non-burn decks because of the new board clear. Any thoughts?
Quest version is much better. I've tried a non quest version and found that it doesn't draw as fast, northshire and acolyte is way too slow. Also not sure how I feel about aucheni circle when mass hysteria exists.

The reason I don't run mass hysteria, is that Hemet doesn't not destroy it, so it makes combo slower as I have more draws after Hemet, which gives opponent more chances of killing me...
Quest version survives better but is a lot slower as you need to draw 7 non combo piece deathrattles before you can play Hemet (or less than 3 of them) or you risk to just trigger the quest by playing out combo and lose because Mecha'thun didn't activate and you have Amara in hand... Basically it is slow, but 40 health helps, but unfortunately 40 health doesn't save you against other combo decks, which I think is more important to beat, as aggro isn't much of a problem if you hold back you board clears a bit...
Ive lost more than ive won, but this is the first time ive played priest in rank. Im using this deck to help me get better against ladder anxiety. im having so much fun queuing with this deck. Thanks for the post!

It gets some time to get used to not be scared and not pull trigger on board clears too early... 5-6 damage for 1 turn is nothing if next turn you will remove 10-12 damage or more...
Hi! I actually love the inclusion with Auchenai Phantasm in combo with healing cards. I share a very similar ideology! Could you help me with something! Would take a look at my Mecha'thun concept? You input would much appreciated. My deck is theorycrafted with the end of the year of the raven in mind. We lose a lot of cards to the wild! Here's the deck if you're interested
Please add Constructive Criticism, and be ahead of other players. We can and will define the new meta! I am super excited about theorycrafting, and even more, thinking about new patches!

Thank you for your question! It's pretty easy to kill Mecha'thun using the deathrattle combos, but with Auchenai Phantasm you have another way to kill the thun! With your cheap healing cards and the phantasm you save a lot of mana and can clear your own board while also killing your thun! I have an in depth explanation on my thread about theorycrafting here: Click me

Interesting idea. But it is seems very inconsistent. I am not sure which deathrattle comboes you are talking about... Reckless experimenter must die before mechathun somehow... So the only combo that I see that works is getting one Mana experimenter or experimenter sticking on board with spirit and mechathun in hand so that you get 1 Mana mechathun... and then you kill board and mechathun with auchenai phantasm combo... Also seems like deck is very slow for a combo deck. This deck is never winning before turn 15, too much setup required. So what the point.. current version of mechathun priest is good because it wins on turn 10 very consistently.
Also why are you not running mass hysteria? Card doesn't rotate yet, so I don't see why not. And Holy Nova is garbage by the way...
Seems to be running a few suboptimal cards I would build it slightly differently... Give me a day I'll see what would be good replacements... Like banana buffoon and squashling are extremely questionable, running some cheap spells directly instead might be more reasonable. (Like even silence might be considered, and definitely need second hymn)
Not ten minutes ago I literally found myself thinking the ONE and only thing that could possibly make this game more engaging and enjoyable was another OTK Priest deck. Kudos sir.

Good luck getting anything to stick on board when people figure out what your doing. Reckless Experimenter is an almost instant kill when played. With them gone your going to have to play Mechathun and hope is sticks for a turn before playing the kill. Good luck with that.
Seems like he is trying to get 1 Mana experimenter or mechathun using the spirit, but then he needs spirit to stick... And it does have stealth... But there are some easy ways to remove 0 health minions...

Thank you for the feed back, I looked into it with the help of another deck builder. There is no need for praying to have something stick anymore! We also have more survivability. So we just need a cheaper thun and we accomplish that with this:
I had these great members of the site DM me, they suggested these swaps:
Yes new list looks better... But Banana Buffoon is still questionable... I would replace them with Loot Hoarders, because drawing your deck is the goal, also some extra synergy with dead ringer... Also Holy Nova still seems too slow for me, I would just run second Divine Hymn which is pretty good with pyromancer...
I brewed up a Legend Viable Mecha'thun deck and reached legend with it. Here is the list and guide for it:

How are you going to kill Mechathun?
If you are in your first year of playing please read this post.
Dust does not burn a hole in the jar. Be careful what you craft, especially before and right after a rotation.
