Dude, every class goes through tough seasons. I mean, look at warrior last expansion. Fatigue was somewhat decent but what else worked? Odd warrior wasn't incredible. I can think of a time where almost every class had its low points and being lowest tier. Hell, even some classes start poor at the beginning of the expansion but find a strong archetype halfway through. Just stick around and see what happens. Otherwise, play different classes. Warrior has always been my favorite but last expansion I learned to play priest for the first time ever! (combo). Just have fun!
Yea blizzard kind of screwed mage ever since they removed ice block and never replaced the void it created. You would think they would give something powerful to compensate, but instead we get mostly meme cards ever since. And I don't know why they won't drop the rng casino mage concept, just let it die and move on to something else Blizzard.
I made a fun Vex Crow deck with zero secrets, almost entirely basic cards plus some new fun stuff. The only non-class card is Thalnos I think. It takes some flexing to the meta, but they got some really fun stuff.

Building Quirky Decks Every Week, Loving Life at Rank 15!
All nine classes are never going to be "perfectly" balanced. As others have said, every class has its ups and downs.
When the smoke clears, both of the Mage legendary cards and the 4/3 elemental with spell damage will see play. We are only now seeing how to build the decks with these cards.
I am just sick of mage getting spells that can't shift between aggressive or defensive depending on the situation. I know people hate burn mage but it has resulted in mages getting very one dimensional spells that can only ever target minions or are just random.
Big spell mage is still a good deck. No worse than tier 2. Giggling inventor is such an amazing addition against any agressive minion based deck. The new legendary spell is also great in control matchups.
Mage may have got the short straw again but we're still in a far better place than warrior has been for a long time.
Theres still Elemental Mage, Big Spell Mage, and Tempo Mage. Mage is ok. If you can't win with those decks, its your fault.
Mage does have some playable decks, I can agree with that ... but the second sentence is nonsense.^^ Compared to what some of the other classes and archetypes are pumping out, you have a really hard time with Mage.
Also, here's a related challenge for you (which is actually just a potshot^^): If you can't win with Big Spell Mage against Shudderwock Shaman ... you know ... it's your fault. ;P
I've played since Beta. Cant remember any class getting left out two expansions in a row, though my memory may be faulty.
Mage also lost more core cards than any class with zero replacements.
Hunter? Untill Spell Hunter and some deathrattle stuff recently, Hunter got pretty much nothing from MSoG up till KoFT, where they pretty much got DK Rexxar and Play Dead, which started being playable in WW. Hunter only played the same Face and "Midrange" decks for almost a year :/
Both of Mage's new legendaries are disgusting in constructed format, especially together. If they aren't in a tier 1 deck during this expansion, they'll be in a tier 1 deck in another.

Unless "disgusting" means horrible tempo loss or excessive setup needed to you I have to disagree.... They're not bad cards but they're not even close to being broken either.... Pocket Galaxy is a huge tempo loss, unreliable for Combo Decks and only works if you have draw to back up the minions costing 1,which brings us to Luna.. Again,it's not a bad card but unless you get lucky or spend time setting it up it will draw 1 or at most 2 cards (Keep in mind that I'm saying this assuming you have to do the whole thing during your turn cause no one would ever dare to let a card like that survive) so I'd much rather run Arcane Intellect or Acolyte Of Pain instead.... I have to agree with OP that Mage got shafted the last two expansions but luckily I think our powerful Classic set (I dread the day my precious Fireballs/Frostbolts will be HOFed or nerfed), some really good cards we got in other sets (DK,Glyph,Arcanologist,Aluneth) and some decent cards we got lately will still make the class stand a chance... Probably it won't be Tier 1 but I doubt it'll ever be as bad as other classes were at some point....
Last expansion the big news was echo. Mage got none, This expansion it was Mechs and Magnetic. Mage got none.
But wait, they got spell damage cards! and no cheap spells. Way to kill the class Blizzard. Tier 3 if you are an amazing player.
Mage can tech Geist, have Polymorph and the secret for counter Malygos and other druid plays and an awesome DK.
The problem is your early game, nothing can deal with the insanely powerful and popular zoo, that kill any tempo/midrange mage deck.
BSmage still playable but have a very hard match with anything right now.

I don't foresee the OTK mage coming close to what druid, warlock, rogue, warrior and shaman will be running.
Thats probably because Mage has arguably the best late game card (Jaina DK) and the best early game card (Mana Wyrm).

Unpopular opinion: Rogue is OP

time will tell. I still say tier three at best and even then only if you play very well.
First of all, Echo and Magnetic aren't some op mechanic.
Also, Mage has some of the strongest vanilla cards, if Mage ever gets op cards in an expansion they will rule the meta
Don't mind me just passing by
OP:
Actually.. Big Spell mage is doing great right now at 59%. (Tier 2!)
One of the several variations is using the new cards Luna's Pocket Galaxy Astromancer and Giggling Inventor.
Don't worry, it's ok to be wrong. At least now you know and can learn from it.
Not sure if hyped yet.

I've no clue what I'm doing...

Mage has been one of the most consistently OP classes throughout HS history. Glad to see them not at tier 1.

i mean if they rotated Ice Block they could at least have added Volcanic Potion to the classic set
