Essentially I've been seeing some interesting decks running around for tempo mage but I thought of my own list.
Basically the core of this deck is the silvername's variant I guess? (core as in all mage cards)
I swapped somethings out and in just to get better results
I play the blood mage and barnes still and azure drakes since they are pretty solid
I play 2 gad auctioneers for their draw power instead of 1
I play 2 bullies since they are good turn 4-5 drops depending on coin and generate coins really well for gad or your other minions that like coins (4/6 is also really hard to deal with without a spell)
Malygos and thaurissan. Basically how you easily win against reno decks and can cheese jade druids when they set up an impossible board to beat in the later turns. (can be replaced with archmage if you feel its better)
Deck can suffer against aggro pirate and sometimes miracle(unless it out paces miracle that is)
Aggro can be beat however with decent mulligan like sorc apren + mirror images and then just starving them board control.
(can also imagine struggling against reno mage if they get reno and ice block before you can beat them but bully is pretty good against that mage decklist)
Looks cool but do you get enough out of malygos seeing as mage doesn't have enough cheaper burst spells to use him with? Fireballs are too expensive even with the thaurissan discount. Frostbolt is too. I know the later game board clear is there and that's great but what's your win condition? I love the idea though. Been trying my own tempo style mage that's been OK. I like the effort to try something new.

How do you mean now enough cheap burst? He's running 2 x frostbolt, 2 x icelance, 2 x arcane missles. If you hit these with emperor then you can Malygos burst for 2x8 + 2x9+2x8=16+18+16=50 damage. Seems enough to me (of course I realize arcane missiles don't necessarily go face, but still).

Right - but getting the Thaurissan discount is not always viable. Like, Warlock has Soulfire which costs 1 mana and can be used with Malygos on the same turn sans discount. Its 9 damage in one turn. Mage has no suck direct damage 1-cost spells. Just something to consider, IMO.
I like this deck but it loses to tempo alot, especially when playing opponents like dragon priest.
Ice block is real champion at setting up lethal when the board is lost. Also, as stated with maly and Emperor in the deck you've built a combo deck, not a tempo deck (even if tempo traits are there).
The win condition is dependant on maly and burn spells being played the same turn. If maly gets killed in a setup turn your pretty much F'd.

I just realized that there are a lot of cards from freeze mage. May I please have an explanation as to why that's the case? I love the deck, I just want to clarify.

It's just how the deck works. Cheap spells work well with sorc/flamewaker/gad

I think forgotten torch would be a pretty quality addition here, especially since you don't run fireballs. Good early game removal that can lead to efficient late game removal/burst
I think your list pretty greedy vs. aggro decks. I mean double Freezing Potion and Ice Lance are gonna be "dead cards" against aggro compared to potential double Doomsayer. Also your only legit turn-4-plays are Barnes, coin into 5-drop or some Flamewaker combo. Imo you are trying too many things with this list, you are trying very early game and miracle-like midgame with burst-finisher-lategame. I can see this working at lower ranks pretty well, but it should be exploited later on better ranks...
If you wanna play with combo-type version I would suggest adding double Doomsayer for the early game and those basic mage spells (Fireball, Flamestrike, just too good..) plus Rhonin for the classic lategame combo with Malygos.
Otherwise, tempo lists like this will have more value imo:
except sorc + mirror = anti aggro. then playing a flame waker with a bunch of 0 mana spells in your hand basically gives you game even against aggro. And i no longer play this list because I made a more fun one anyways. This one just had shot me down the ladder pretty quick.

I switched off to using atonidas at one point but I will say I really had liked using Malygos since it was way stronger in control match ups.
