If you would like to ask me any questions directly and live, or be one step ahead of the meta check out my stream at http://www.twitch.tv/sigmasrb at 6 PM CEST almost every day and follow the feeds on Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/sigmasrb or Twitter - https://twitter.com/sigmasrb for all news! I will try to stream at this time in between 3-5 days a week where I will be playing all of my decks posted here plus some other ones.
Hey guys Sigma here, 4-time legend, Deck Architect and guide writer from Serbia! Today I present to you my take on Silence druid, something that I have been meaning to post for quite some time but has always seemed too inconsistent. Well, that has been changed with the introduction of the new OP druid card - Darnassus Aspirant and this baby is ready to hit the high ranks in S19!
Even though it doesn't mean much, I have had a solid, early streak from Rank 16 to 13 in the stream today before I reveiled my second deck which will be up on Hearthpwn soon as well, after I refine it a bit more. More results to come.
EDIT: Went on a streak from rank 11 to rank 8 in my 12-hour broadcast (http://www.twitch.tv/sigmasrb/v/18743557 - starts at 4:20:00).
As you guys can see the deck is basically relying on getting out minions on curve like Darnassus Aspirant turn 1 with Coin into Ogre Brute or Innervate + Fel Reaver and then topping it off when you have 4 mana (on turn 3 optimally and silence them both).
HINT: If the video below is blocked for you, get an browser addon called Proxtube. It's legal. Sorry for the inconvenience caused by this.
If the deck reaches 50 upvotes, I will write out one of the SigGuides for it, which will probably be even more detailed than ever! The only reason that I am setting up this goal is to motivate you guys motivate me motivate you (motivating x ∞) and to know that you guys like the deck enough for me to write out details for the gameplay! Until the goal has been reached, I will write out "trial" versions of the three guide parts I find most important.
You can check out another deck of mine that got popular if you haven't yet. It still works splendidly!

Mulligan:
The mulligan here divides into control and aggro depending which one you are facing:
Aggro: Innervate, Wrath (keep only 1), Darnassus Aspirant, Deathlord, Ironbeak Owl, Keeper of the Grove, Ogre Brute (See Exceptions).
Control: Innervate, Wrath (keep only 1), Darnassus Aspirant, Ogre Brute, Ironbeak Owl, Keeper of the Grove (See Exceptions).
Exceptions:
Ironbeak Owl: Keep only if you have a 2 drop to silence.
Keeper of the Grove: Keep only if you have a 2 drop to silence + you have Innervate.
Ogre Brute (Aggro): Keep only if you have Innervate to get him out on turn 1.
NOTE: You can of course keep the Fel Reaver as well if you have the Coin and Innervate. It's pretty OP on turn 2.
Overall strategy:
For this short strategy guide I will just divide the gameplay into three sections, early, mid and late game and try to illustrate them to you and to explain what you should look out for to play.
Early game is what I like to call Confuse the F*** out of your opponent. A lot of minds blow up when they see a druid playing an Ancient Watcher. Use that to your opportunity. Here, from the moment that you drop your Darnassus Aspirant, start thinking about an Ironbeak Owl or a Wailing Soul to silence her. Here you either remove minions with your early game spell Wrath, remove with a silenced Ancient Watcher or Aspirant (Try to avoid trading with her if she is not silenced and your crystal isn't safely in your mana bar, or you ramp up with Innervate and drop something more serious like Deathlord against aggro or Ogre Brute against control. You can of course also ramp up to Boom on turn 2 too, if you get the coin and two Innervates.
Mid game is where you should start making your big moves with the Wailing Soul and our MVP, the Fel Reaver. You just can't replace Fel Reaver in this deck. The fact that we have so many juicy silences to make him unstoppable AND to silence HIM as well to not get ourselves milled, is just too good to be let gone. Swipe the trashy paladin junk if he summoned any, Mulch if controling handlock gets out of his mind with taunts, and get the Azure Drake out for a card rotation and +1 spell power for those amazing Wraths and Swipes.
Late game is where your opponent will either be lingering on the verge of death, or where you lost, as this is a tempo deck with few chances of coming back in if the board has been overtaken and you're out of cards. Dr. Boom shines here and the well known combo Force of Nature + Savage Roar. Don't be shy to use Savage Roar in mid game as well, if it gives you really nice trades, using one to save your Fel Reaver is for sure worthwhile.
Dream plays:
Turn 1 Skip, Turn 2 Innervate + Innervate + Coin + Dr. Boom, Turn 3 Deathlord.
Turn 1 Coin + Darnassus Aspirant, Turn 2 Innervate + Fel Reaver, Turn 3 Wailing Soul.
Without Innervate & Coin: Turn 1 Skip, Turn 2 Darnassus Aspirant, Turn 3 Ancient Watcher + Ironbeak Owl on Darnassus Aspirant, Turn 4 Fel Reaver, Turn 5, Wailing Soul.
All cards that can be silenced and what they practically become when they are:
Ancient Watcher - Chillwind Yeti ready to attack on turn 3.
Darnassus Aspirant - Wild Growth with a 2/3 ready to attack on turn 3.
Deathlord - a 2/8 ready to attack on turn 4.
Ogre Brute - a 4/4 that attacks where you order it on turn 4.
Fel Reaver - an 8/8 without any drawbacks.
Force of Nature (on turn 10) - 3 2/2s which don't die on the same turn they are played.
Card Replacements:
Mulch -> Big Game Hunter, (in WORST case Naturalize if you have neither Mulch or BGH)
Dr. Boom –> Ragnaros the Firelord
Deathlord -> Druid of the Claw
Wailing Soul -> Spellbreaker/2nd Keeper of the Grove (Wouldn't recommend this as deck won't be as consistent but try it out).
FAQ
Why Fel Reaver?
The Fel Reaver, besides the fact it fits the meta perfectly now as there is a lack of Aldor Peacekeepers, Hunter's Marks and Big Game Hunters, ravage free. The fact that you can get out a Fel Reaver in this deck in turn 2 already brings a crapload of tempo into the game. From the moment your Fel Reaver is on the board, the only thing that can stop him besides the three cards I mentioned above (and some more) are taunts. Well, the taunts are no problem for us as we have 4 silences which we can use in offensive purposes.
But Sigma, I will lose so many cards??? q_q
As a tempo deck, you want your game to preferrably be done by turn 8 or 9 latest. That will leave a lot of cards from your deck UNDRAWN. Just think about it like this: The cards you burn can be the cards you won't even draw if you were to not run reavers. I understand it can be very frustrating, especially if you are used to playing control and needing all of your cards from your deck but when you go Fel once, you never look back.
NOTE: As I have had some people kind enough to point out that the Wailing Soul Concept is not new or "original", a fact I believe we are all aware of, as Wailing Soul has been around for a very long time now, I have put my time and effort into making this deck viable and have not seen it ANYWHERE or copied it from ANYONE. I don't take any credit for the Wailing Soul concept though. Therefore, with this being said, any comment from here on out who will be in this fashion will either be ignored or deleted by the admin of the page. Thank you for understanding.
So if you liked the deck and want me to write out a more detailed guide with Matchups included, make sure you upvote, so that more people can see it! :)
Cheers for checking out yet another Sigma's deck and as always, the constructive criticism and any suggestions to improve the deck are warmly accepted! See you on the stream!
Cheers,
Sig
First time I played this deck I got the dream play T2 Innervate×2 + Coin = Dr. Boom T3 Deathlord T4 Savage Roar for over half his health then he put up a 3/3 taunt T5 Wrath to remove taunt + another Savage Roar to finish the job. Great deck off of first impression.
Silent watcher is great cause it also beats freeze mage.
I replaced owl with recombobulator. Recombob has better stats and it works well with darnasus
Got Milled 15 cards one turn with fell reaver against control priest. =(
Edit: On the other hand, just beat a rank 12 secret paly on t6 thanks to fel reaver + keeper, so I guess it balances out?
Drop the 2 drakes for ancient of lore maybe. Drop the two deathlords for sure for wildgrowth or nurture. Also drop the mulch, you got plenty of huge minions to deal with huge minions.
This deck only works on low ranks beyond 12 it's not playable.... Or a just don't know how to play it but this deck.. kinda sucks tho...
don't know how you could make it that high
i went 4 and 5 with this deck. It runs out of steam too fast. It needs more card draws. I did however went against a priest and on turn 2 i used my coin and used Innervate then put down Fel Reaver praying he didnt have a shadow word death. He kept using power word shields too mill my cards but by turn 5 i lethaled him lol.
i switched 1 force of nature and 1 drake for 2 zombie chow, really nice deck i never imagined it will be so fun currently 6-1 with it
Eerie Statue is the new MVP in silence decks
Any good replacements for Dr.Boom and Mulch?
Really fun deck to play. Finally something else for druid than the same old deck. But this deck is really suffering from card draw. It screams to draw more cards to keep the silence machine working. Far too many times I'm stuck with stuff in my hand that I could play .. only if I drew a silence.
It may be possible to work in a Nourish. If you really want to work in card draw, try replacing a card that isn't really necessary. I never use Dr. Boom (mostly cause I don't have it plus he's the most original legendary) and the deck works very well without him. One thing I'm thinking of working in is a Thaurissan. You're going to have a bunch of cards in your hand usually so he could get some value.
Loving this deck type so far. I find it burns out quickly and has a problem with some big guys if you make it late game by not drawing your Reaver.
I removed the Ogre Brutes as while good, they aren't great in terms of value (and I'd debate Dancing Swords over them anyway) and replaced them with Starfire. It fills in the 6 spot a bit, gives you a hammer to drop AND another card. It is also a nice finisher if you have them close but not there yet.
I really wish I could replace Deathlord with Ogre Brute or Dancing Swords, as I have gotten bitten a few times with a huge card being pulled, but it is just too strong against face decks.
Also, you need to have a spot for King Mukla as he is a great tempo card, the bananas often don't fit into your opponent's plans, and are easily silencable.
Man , i've just got The Beast from watch and learn , and my first thought was your deck , can he filt some spot in it ?
Don't think it's worth it tbh. Compare it to erie statue a 7/7 for 4 mana. 2 att isn't worth 2 mana.
That's a HORRIBLE comparison. Compare it to something like Salty Dog, with a similar stat distribution. It's got +2/+3 for one mana, but it summons a 3/3 for your opponent (2-3 mana or so.) Therefore it's bad :P
Day9 got me to click on this thread
I am loving this. Climbed to 15 with this. I don't have 2nd force of nature, 2nd fel reaver, and taken out Boom to make it faster. Its a super fast deck which kills by turn 6, 7, or 8.
Funny how people are trying to burn your cards when fel reaver is out without taking care of him. And if you can play Ancient watcher turn 1 and silence with owl turn 2 you've won.
I've put in druid of the claw, nourish, grove tender and zombie chow to replace cards I don't have.
7 games, 5 loses. and the loses werent even close.
7 games isn't enough to judge a deck sometimes you just get rekt by rng, i've been doing rather well with the deck at rank 9
