Welcome to Anub'Arak Control Rogue.
Standar's version is out! --> http://www.hearthpwn.com/decks/360292-anubarak-nzoth-guide
This Guide was created before Old Gods. Deck is updated but guide is not it.
------------- New Cards -----------
- Cutpurse is a undervalued card. He is a 2/2 by 2 mana, it's not strong but it's fine i think. We keep to safe with Backstab, Deadly Poison and Agent while he go face. Obviously, we will not go forever to the face because positive trade always is nice. So, you can active combos in the same turn like SI:7 Agent in T3 with his coin.
- Burgle is probably my TGT's favorite card. Random, yes, but potentially is insane. So, Preparation into Burgle, we draw two card free mana and win tempo. In empty turns is great.
Example perfect T3:
- Shado-Pan Rider is a very good 5 drop with Cutpurse's coin, but we can run another Antique Healbot, Azure Drake or double Sludge Belcher.
- Anub'arak is a pretty cool idea turned in a mediocre card. He is a infinite card (if he dont get silence/polymorph) like Malorne or Dreadsteed but 8/4 by 9 mana is bad and return your hand is even worse because you have to pay again 8/4 by 9 mana. We need cards to get maximum efficiency:
- Cutpurse and Emperor can reduce Anub'Arak cost.
Anub'Arak + Conceal, we give stealth to hold one more turn.
I run Preparation over Conceal, i tried to play Conceal but is very situational (or hard to play).
3. We play Kel'Thuzad, we trade with Anub'Arak. KT add Anub'Arak, we win another Anub'Arak in board and in our own hand.
----------- Tech Cards -----------
- Double Backstab is good vs. aggro but you can run a Zombie Chow or Gadgetzan Jouster too.
- One Preparation because we have not many spells for combo. Preparation is useful with Burgle, Fan of Knives or Sprint.
- One Blade Flurry because our Hero Power (in this deck) is a bit useless. We have to know when to pull the Blade Flurry to get the most value. I think that you can run second Blade Flurry if you run Tinker's Sharpsword Oil too.
- Big Game Hunter is a great card vs. big minions like Dr. Boom or Ragnaros the Firelord.
- One Defender of Argus can stop aggro and buff your minions for keep board.
- One Sprint because drawcard is important for Rogue and this spell is awesome with Preparation.
- Sylvanas Windrunner is a great card in all decks. She lets you have a big presence at the board and control it. If you dont have Sylvanas, you can run Master Jouster, Just get a great value by 6 mana. Another great card is Grand Crusader, it's like Burgle but only get Paladin's card.
----------- Winrate -------
- Rigth now --> 30-9
----------- Mulligans -------
- Control Match Up
- Always Keep: Deadly Posion, Cutpurse, Agent and Burgle.
- Sometimes Keep: Backstab, Sap and Shredder.
- Aggro Match Up
- Always Keep: Backstab, Deadly Poison, Blade Flurry, Fan of Knives and Agent.
- Sometimes Keep: Sap.
- Coin
- With coin search: Burgle, Agent, Shredder and Shado-Pan.
- Without coin search: Deadly Poison, Cutpurse and Burgle.
Thank you very much to all for visiting Anub'Arak Control Rogue. Any question will be answered.
See you (^.^)

Could you put in Swashburglar?
lost from 11 to 18... great deck, 0/7 so far... :(
Nice Update. Have to try this deck.

What's the point of this deck? It gets pooped on by paladin and hunter.
3 Changes that I found useful (I grind-ed to Legend with Hunter/Druid/Zoolock) just today, but this deck still worked pretty well for me initially at start of this month. I believe my suggestion may increase the odd against some of the deck that may go rampant in the meta soon.
Tech Choices:
#1 Secret Paladin and Murloc Knight have become pretty hard to take care of, so a second Blade Furry may be nice. (Not to mention that Face Hunter are becoming more Frequent then when this deck was first introduced)
#2 Increase of ramp druid and sustain against control matchup may be needed, so a second Defender of Argus may also be nice (I really love your first one), it gotten me a lot of win from Ramp Druid so far. For replacement you can try Shado-Pan Rider.
#3 Blood Knight (Seen a lot of Paladin running it recently) is pretty insane in this meta, niche deck like this may need it. Also it can soak up early silences, giving better chance of you surviving due to Argus and Kel'Thuzad. It can be a replacement for Big Game Hunter as choice of tech card, or you can even run some synergy yourself by adding Argent Squire for both that and anti-aggro purposes.
(Most of the stronger control deck (Inspire Warrior/Dragon Priest) I see don't even run 7 damage creature, although Dr. Boom is still in most Midrange)
This deck is very strong already against Druid and Priest. Although it is a little insufficient against most the other classes, I believe some changes or preparation. (especially what you guys run into most) will make this deck good enough.
Cutpurse is actually a very weak top-deck lategame, and while have a threat of letting rogue get all his big minion/combo out early. Also Cutpurse is actually better when you can get value out of him, you can try replacing 1 of the Cutpurse with Zombie Chow, Argent Squire or Annoy-o-Tron.
Some of the best Rogue players also started including Twilight Guardian in their Rogue deck, as it's a hard counter to Aggro and can be a hard silence bait. But if your interested in running that, I recommend adding another Azure Drake first.
Just got Anub'arak from a pack again for the second time.I will give him a chance this time with this deck.
What rank has this worked for you at?
As a Rogue player and a long time Anub'arak fan (Loved his character since Warcraft 3) I've also built my own Anub'arak rogue. But after everyone refined their deck post TGT, my own deck declined in winrate ratio. So afterward, I went around testing other decks that included Anub'arak to see what's working for other people, but after repeated testing, I find your version to be the best of all Anub'arak rogues. It is refined and competitive, so I think this deserve more attention. Currently 11-3 with this deck on ranked, and the only lost was to a Patron Warrior who had a perfect top-deck. I won against all Huntard, Control Warrior, Oil Rogue and Dragon Priest I encountered with this.
Personally, I added 2 Zombie Chow and removed 2 Burgle, making it easier to stabilize board control and to play Cutpurse and get a better curve. Otherwise I agree with all the other card choices.
Also a side question, did you grind to Legend with this yet?
That's why I play Aggro in the early season, then play Control once I have the luxury to grind slowly. Still, this Deck isn't that slow, so I think it's possible to grind up only using this.
At what rank have you gone 11-3?
I'm adding conceal anyway for kel thuzad combo!
Man. if I don't have Anub'Arak and the second cutpurse, what do you reccomend me?
Does Cairne Works?
And a last question, this Works well without an oil and with just 1 blade flurry?
Very fun deck my friend
Really cool decklist, happy to see that people are able to use Anub'arak effectively (which all the edgy cool kids happily called garbage trash when it was revealed, like they do any card they can't wrap their narrow heads around).
I'm curious to know, how often do you get value out of Cutpurse? I imagine your opponent will always remove it if they can afford to, and this deck has no strong 3 drop follow-up to take advantage of this situation
what do you think about Trade Prince Gallywix in this deck
