This deck is reborn. Lock and Load is a neat card but as it stands its not enough to independently win a game. I've resolved that the best way to utilize the card is with just all the good Hunter Spells and take more of a defensive stance to the game.
You may notice that this deck is a lot more similar to Midrange Paladin than the traditional aggressive Midrange Hunter in its build. Having all these big threats is pretty useful against control decks and other Midrange decks.
Kill Command isn't in this deck because its not that aggressive and if you do need some burst it'll usually be in the late game and Call of the Wild (and to some extent Jeweled Scarab) can already do that.
I'm seriously considering Brann Bronzebeard and Ball of Spiders.
EDIT: Princess Huhuran is in the deck now since she doesn't actually require that many deathrattles because of her super solid stats. Regardless, if and when any new Deathrattles are realeased I will put them in if they are good. I'm one step closer to making the executive decision of putting in Ball of Spiders.
EDIT: Added cards, took away cards. etc.
I've been playing this deck this morning. and I'm super impressed. A ton of fun to play. I don't have Princess Huhuran, so I'm just running an extra copy of Huge Toad, but I might switch it out for Brann Bronzebeard.
With all the Shamans out there, it's nice to see a deck hold up.
Thanks!
possibly the worst thing I have ever played with! Would honestly rather aids than to touch this deck again! if I had the choice, I would wipe my memory clean so that I never tried this thing! Personally think this deck should be your last post ever, the aim is to win and you have 0 chance with this heap of shit! Don't even think mourinho, even with his tactical mind could turn this in to a winning formula!
Made this deck before TGT actually came out and when everyone thought Lock and Load would be insane. I haven't tried it with LoE yet but future cards may make the card playable. More than anything its just a fun deck. I haven't touched it in forever.
Thanks for the highly constructive criticism.
I think replacing Arcane Shot with more traps is better, keep the opponent guessing.
Do you keep it in your starting hand and use it freely or only with lock and load?
An interesting deck indeed, I will check it out. :)
I do have a question. Why are there no Acolyte of Pain in this deck. They would combo well with Dreadscale, as well as providing the deck with useful card draw overall. Another thing: If I wanted to run Gahz'rilla, what would you reccomend me cutting?
Not really. Emperor Thaurissan and Mad Scientist are just way too important. I guess you could replace Sludge Belcher with Sen'jin Shieldmasta?
More than 80 percent of decks use cards from the adventures though so if you play Hearthstone A LOT Its definitely a worthwhile invesment. Or if you don't want to spend money, it's more worth your gold to spend on adventures than packs.
Naxxramas has a lot more used cards so I would go for that first. Mad Scientist especially is in every Mage and Hunter deck on the ladder.
This deck looks very promising, but I lack dreadscale.. Any replacement for now?
Unleash the Hounds. It serves the same goal of punishing token decks.
This deck more than anything is a control deck designed to counter other control decks in which not having a 2 drop doesn't matter too much. I will say this however. Against classes other than Warrior keep Quick Shot in your hand and against Hunter keep Dreadscale. If you're really having problems though there's probably some way to change out a bunch of cards in the deck to add 2 Mad Scientists, a Bear Trap and a Freezing Trap.
If anything I would cut the Mechanical Yeti or Houndmaster. The secrets aren't even so bad since you can use them with Lock and Load. I was hesitant to put in Zombie Chow because of King's Elekk and also because the health you give your opponent has a slightly bigger effect than for most other control classes. It may be weird but Gadgetzan Jouster may be a consideration in this deck. It may not be completly awful. Lifecoach tried it out in a tournament today.
I've swapped out the Houndmaster for a Bear Trap because I found I was playing the Houndmaster without the battlecry most of the time. I still want to fit in scientists somehow.
Secret paladin is just starting to fade out.
Just realized I never answered the Tracking part of your question. The answer is no, you don't keep it. Tracking isn't a card you play when you have left over mana. You use it when you're in a difficult situation and are looking for a particular card. Foe example, your opponent plays a big minion. You would play Tracking in hopes of finding a Hunter's Mark. Or if they just played Imp-losion, you would Tracking for Dreadscale.
Powershotis just a lot better than Explosive Shot since it costs 2 less and it's rare that your opponent will perfectly place their minions like that (except for in the case of Grim Patron). You can also just use a Hunter's Mark for the same effect. The fact that its cheap is also important for Lock and Load.
I'm not sure what you mean by "the neutral part of the deck is average control." Of course its average control. This is a control deck.
Quick Shot is a 2 of in this deck for the same reason Darkbomb is in most Handlocks. Its also good with Lock and Load and will very rarely get the benefit of empty hand. I've actually gotten the draw from it in this deck a few times. Like I said this is a control deck.
As for replacements for Dreadscale, I would recommend Unleash the Hounds.
An important thing to keep in mind also as I've had it come up before is how to use Starving Buzzard when it comes from Lock and Load. If you have your Savannah Highmane survive a turn (which isn't that unlikely as your opponent will rarely kill it unless they can take out the Hyenas in the same turn, like Piloted Shredder) you can play Starving Buzzard and run the Highmane into something and immediately draw 2 cards.
It's the same standard few control cards most control decks run. The only "control" cards in the deck that are neutral are Sludge Belchers and the big drops which are the same few most control decks run. Most control/midrange decks run Piloted Shredders too so I'm still not too sure what you're talking about.
Interesting deck, really weird that you have all these deathrattles but no feign. I think it should decently well if you can keep board control until turn 6. But without a good heal mechanic, if you lose board control I think it is going to be really hard to catch up and play late game.
Also this deck is missing reliable draw mechanics. Dunno how reliable King's Elekk is, but I think you should definitely remove one of them for Bloodmage Thalnos. Probably also want one Flare. Are 13 spells enough for L&L?
