Intro:
Hey everyone! I'm Funki Monki and all I do is create meta-breaking (hopefully) homebrew decks! This list was inspired by King Phaoris and looking through warrior I noticed there were A LOT of good expensive cards to synergize with him like Dimensional Ripper, The Boomship and even Brawl and Plague of Wrath. After testing quite a few different versions like the Beast package (Oondasta, Akali, the Rhino, Witchwood Grizzly), and an Armor/Weapon package (Deadly Arsenal, Heavy Metal!, Armored Goon, Sul'thraze) I ultimately came up with this refined list which I've gone 7-1 with to rank 4!! I hope you all enjoy this fun, new deck :)
General Strategy:
We want to be playing as a typical Control Warrior for the first 1-5ish turns of the game, Using our hero power as much as we can without neglecting a threatening board from our opponent. Remember, we are not PURE Control Warrior so we do not have unlimited controlling resources and have to be a bit greedier with our control cards. Once turn 6 rolls around we can start doing our swing turns with Blatant Decoy to cheat out big minions and snowball from there. The name of the game is to stall as best we can until we can have our huge turns with The Boomship, King Phaoris, Dimensional Ripper, etc.
Mulligan:
Shield Slam, Weapons Project, Warpath, Shield Block, Brawl, Zilliax
Against Warrior (most are playing control) you can get greedy and keep your big minions, Dimensional Ripper, King Phaoris, The Boomship, etc
Against aggressive decks that go wide (Shaman, Warlock) you can keep Whirlwind, Archmage Vargoth
Against Priest you can keep Execute
Replacements:
Unfortunately this deck does need a few key legendaries to work well, inluding The Boomship and King Phaoris. All other big legendaries can be replaced with the biggest minions you have; preferably ones that have taunt or rush like Burly Shovelfist or Living Monument
I hope you like this deck and, as always, if you have any questions or have a suggestion please comment below (I respond to all comments)!

I don’t have The Boomship or King Phaoris. But I have enough dust to craft one of them. Since your deck title contains the word “Phaoris”, I crafted King Phoaris. But now that I am thinking that I might’ve been too hasty and I should’ve crafted Boomship instead, right?
Well, it may not be the answer you want to hear, but yes I would agree that The Boomship is more crucial to this deck lol. The silver lining is that King Phaoris is a neutral card and can be played in more decks and will remain in standard for longer. In 2 days we get Varian Wrynn and Ragnaros back in standard so you could replace a couple of cards, like The Boomship, for them.
This deck is pretty fun but by the time youre able to do anything youre barely alive. You can only win if you draw perfectly and your opponent poorly.
I'm glad you think its fun!! And against very aggressive decks like Combo Priest, Murloc Paladin, etc, it definitely is tougher but that's why some of the late game minions I included help stabilize the board like Amani War Bear, Burly Shovelfist or Living Monument. Because we are not a complete Control Warrior, we have to be a bit greedier with our early control spells to maximize value from them and to make sure we survive long enough. If we toss away a Warpath or Brawl too soon, this deck can get punished.
Now that Varian Wrynn is confirmed to be coming back to standard, do you see him fitting in this deck? I think it would probably be best to replace Living Monument with him, but that's just my opinion.
oh yes!!!! I'm really excited for him! It's tough to say without testing but i'd probably start by replacing the Bull Dozer. I typically like minions that have rush or taunt to help us stabilize from our slower early game. There have been quite a few games where the 10 health taunt from Living Monument has saved me from aggro decks.
If I were to make a wild version of this deck, would you advise putting in things like Gather Your Party and Woecleaver? Most of the lower cost control spells are better than a lot of wild ones, so I feel like Recruit would be the best bet.
Also, in a wild setting, would you add other big minions such as The Lich King? I have a few cards in mind, but I'm not sure which minions currently I should take out. Let me know what you think!
hmm good question. I don't ever play Wild so I can only speculate. but yeah, Gather Your Party and Woecleaver seem like natural fits. The meta is entirely different in wild but typically rush minions and taunt minions are best to be able to help vs aggro decks so The Lich King seems good as well!
Would be funny if Blatant Decoy pulled King Phaoris
haha yeah, that would be unfortunate. There are so many other minions in the deck under 10 mana that that's almost never going to happen tho :)
I've tried tinkering with a Big Warrior as well. Have you tried playing Wrapped Golem. Found that Wrapped Golem from Dimensional Ripper is almost as insane as Colossus of the Moon. Plus it is also only 7 mana so it can be played faster in a bind. I have Dr. Boom for late value and to get the rush synergies with my mechs. As to narrow the gap as far as midrange minions I play Omega Assembly and Dragon Roar which can sometimes get you an out early on.
I may have to add Archmage Vargoth, totally overlooked his synergy with Ripper and even Shield Block. Grommash felt very underwelming in my deck and I replaced him....
If you want, check mine out and let me know what you think.

yep, I have! I pretty much tested every 7+ cost minion lol. I found that because we are not playing full control (lacking Restless Mummy, Dyn-o-matic, etc) we are oftentimes behind on board by turn 6-7 so big taunts and rushers are the best way to start stabilizing until our turn 9-10 swing turns. Wrapped Golem doesn't offer enough stability from just a 1/1 taunt and the 5 health (+1 health from reborn) is easily cleared these days with lackeys and battlecry damage minions.
I also addressed why Dr. Boom, Mad Genius does not fit in this deck in an earlier comment in this thread if you want to read that.
I, too, ended up taking out Grommash Hellscream since his 4 attack doesn't trade too well on turn 8 and is too hard to activate for face damage.
With all that, I'd say, take out the Bull Dozer and add another Burly Shovelfist. Without Rush the mechs seem so much worse and just don't have the board impact. That's why I am trying Boom, with the Omega Assemblys. Early game, they can provide pressure that doesn't mess up your minion pool.
BTW, have you tried any more ladder games?
Also, regardless of anything else, still a very cool list! Will certainly be trying out some of your ideas!
Really fun deck to play, I could not afford Grommash Hellscream so i added Anubisath Warbringer , i loved when the Dimensional Ripper summoned it and i got super buffed mega minions when they died :P
I actually ended up taking out Grommash Hellscream as well, he was just too hard to activate and was using him to trade anyways. hahah good idea with the Anubisath Warbringer, that would for sure make for some fun games :D
Been looking for a good version of big warrior since the last rotation. Was loving Gather Your Party and Woecleaver before they rotated.
oh ya! I definitely miss good ol' Recruit Warrior :).
Have you considered Livewire Lance for lackey production? Chance to pick up a couple more beefy spells and rush and taunt can be lifesavers.
yep I did test Livewire Lance! Lackeys are great to build off a board that you already have, such as the Titanic Lackey or Witchy Lackey, but oftentimes I'm not putting my first minion down until turn 6 at least so they just end up cluttering the hand and not making too much of an impact or not getting a lackey I need making it inconsistent. I'm also forced to play them before I The Boomship as well which makes it overall very awkward. Thank you for the suggestion! :)
yea tried previous versions of it and also dont think its viable. if your opponent can handle 2 big boards of you you are done, but for that you need to survive till turn 10 and more. It always reminds me of resurrect priest. yea its fun and you wait for that big move but it rarely pays off.
