Coldlight Oracle, Molten Giant and Ice Block are all leaving, with Molten's nerf being reverted
huh i thought it was just Molten and coldlight, didn't see iceblock then.
also i swear someone is just following my posts and downvoting just to be a prick lel.
Let's see how many downvotes this comment can get
4 mana 2/2 Battlecry: When your opponent plays a minion next turn (or whatever), deal 6 damage to it and any excess to their hero.
Is it just me or is her face a bit weird? Her smile creeps me a bit.
Ice Block mage in wild tho..
This is definitely going to push the potential viability of minion mage up a bit. I was really worried they were holding mage cards back but now I'm excited to see what else is coming
It's pretty good but with Kabal Lackey, Kabal Crystal Runner and Medivh's Valet going to wild mage is losing a lot of their secret synergy in standard. I don't know if the secret archetype will be that good anymore.
And It can't discover Ice Block in standard so I'm OK with this.
...sigh. I hate secret mage :(
...I wonder if this counts towards quest? Probably not since it says 'Put on the board'
Now that Kabal Crystal Runner is out, Secret Mage needs a new Key minion to replace it.
this might be to low "Key" to replace Kabal crystal runner
YASS.. i can Discover ICE BLO.... oh wait....... *sad*
Well... i can least activate Medivh Vale....oh wait...... *double sad*
Even more Ice Block generation for mages in Wild. Not looking forward to playing against that.
Secret key agent, comming through
1 less mana and 1 less health than playing Arcanologist and immediately playing the secret.
Pros: Cheaper. You get whatever secret is right for that moment. You don't thin your deck. Synergizes with Book of Specters.
Cons: Weaker body. Comes down later. You might get trash options.
And not thinning your deck is a con ( unless you are playing a mirror of two fatigue decks)
I think this card is playable at best in Standard, which is far from bad. To say that this card is a make or break card is far-fetched as some people seem to think. It’s a worse Mad Scientist and arguably better than Hydrologist. There are benefits from having the secret in hand and playing it for free, obviously. Sometimes Eye for an Eye is game winning against the right deck and you wouldn’t get that if you didn’t get to choose when playing it. I think the secret being free is better though, marginally, because the mana cost is much higher, which is fair considering the cost of a mage secret, however it seems pretty weak to me for 4 mana to play a 2-2 and get anywhere from useless to maybe pretty good.
Playing around mage secrets is hard enough as it is. Imo, really good card cuz you'll often find a proper secret for the situation
Hmmm... I wouldn't say it is hard in the sense that you don't know what to do against them. You know how to avoid them, they just sometimes put you in a pickle.
And a bunch of them are countered with the same strat: you usually play the lowest cost minion or least useful spell. WHICH IS A GOOD THING when it come to this card.
If a bunch of the secrets accomplish the same task, then the odds of you discovering "the right one" is higher. For instance, Mana Bind, Counterspell and Spellbender KINDA achieve the same thing. And Explosive Runes, Potion of Polymorph and Mirror Entity all serve to neutralize a threat if that makes sense.
