Pretty cool way to compensate for overloads. although you'd expect this to be freeze related, but whatevs.
Can't wait to make some crazy tempo plays with strong overloads into a 0 mana giant.
without a card like elemental destruction in the game (sure volcano is okay, but let's be real) that play seems much worse. that being said, shamans not very long ago used overload to play into a strong early game board, so it's not out of the question that they can use overload to play a strong comeback game instead. we'll see with time.
For a giant made of snow in expansion focused on "Freeze Shaman" I expected to reduce his cost due to characters you froze this game.
problem with that is, it forces shaman into a specific playstyle and if they just keep printing different starter decks every expansion, the game gets really stale really fast. same could be said about the priest hero card, the rest of the set seems to be about stealing cards from your opponent's deck, but the hero is mass removal with an improved shadowform. very different than what we thought it was going to be. and most of the classes are starting to feel like that with some decent aggro, midrange and control cards being printed for warrior, some good aggro and midrange cards being printed for hunter and some really good control priest cards being printed too. looks like they're making the smart decision of implementing a few good IKEA decks but still leaving the players a lot of DIY deckbuilding choices. this expansion is starting to look a lot like un'goro in terms of viability, though we're going to have to wait a few months before we know for sure.
I didn't say that I don't like it tho. I'm thinking this card is strong as it is and I really like it
Wouldn't evolve only make it a mountain giant? That's the only 12 cost card.
he said evolve into giant, devolve into crappy 10 drop
Then play wild, it's arguably better than standard at the moment.
Because saying "why did you take this away from me" makes you sound like a spoilt child and I was responding to you accordingly.
Overload is by defintion a good tempo mechanic though (get something now, pay for it later)

Too strong, should be a Legendary and a one-off only.
Finally they revelead a giant card! And a class one! Hope they will get us one neutral one too. Might be quite okay in elemental shammy, there are always few overloads in this.
This might not be enough to make the 3 mana 2-8 see play, there are still better overload cards like storm, volcano, claws, feral, etc.
If they're starting to pick oddly specific numbers for mana costs higher than 10, might as well change Molten Giant to 23, since they think 20 is broken and everyone thought 25 was too high.
probably with future cards/expansions already in mind. this card will be around for a while.
