Golden Garbage, but at least I get a free epic.

One Epic, One Rare, that is above what most people are going to get! Not too shabby...

posted a message on Hi guys, I am new here, any advice to get me on my feet?

Hey! Cool collection! With many very good DKs. My only tip is open up a few more Whispers of the Old Gods. You only have C'Thun as a legendary, and you should be getting another legendary in your first 10 packs. Open one by one until you get a legendary and then stop. Hope its Yogg-Saron, Hope's End!

El Sabidon!! Gracias for the recommendation. I went out and tried it out. Thought that if it felt good, even without Scourgelord Garrosh, I could play that on my EU server. Unluckily I found it slightly lacklustering. Its a shame, because while it feels the same, the small differences end up being huge. When a deck allows you to barely win most of the time, a slightly worst deck just looses most of the time. The problem at the end is card draw, and how bad Disciple of C'Thun and C'Thun's Chosen are for Battle Rage or Armorsmith. I'll do a small analysis if anyone is interested.

Pros: 1. C'Thun has a much more immediate impact, helping solve a board, and bringing the clock down on you opponents health, allowing you to outright kill him that turn, or at least force him to have an answer before the next turn. 2. Doomcaller felt MVP. Being able to throw C'Thun without needing to wait for Dead Man's Hand, or having played it before, is just huge. It allowed you to deal with a board, and apply pressure without giving up your late game. That for me was the most superior part compared to N'Zoth Warrior. 3. I didn't have Twin Emperor Vek'lor, but it feels as a strong card. I am sure that being able to play it would improve the deck a lot, as many times I felt I lacked taunts.

Cons: 1. Card Draw, Card Draw, Card Draw! N'Zoth warrior is not good because its efficient removal, which is too dependent to combos and utilizes a lot of cards to clear a board. It is good because it draws cards like crazy, with Battle Rage being the one that gives you the most value. Like a said, it looses a lot of value with Disciple of C'Thun and C'Thun's Chosen. It felt that most of the time I only had half the combos to clear the board, and when I did it, next turn I had nothing. 2. Similar with Armorsmith, I could never get that extra bit of armor to barely stay alive, and they lost a lot of value. I only had one Ancient Shieldbearer, but it is way too late an expensive, and without taunt isn't good enough. 3. When I tried to create a deck with enough card draw to have always tools, the deck just run out of cards too quickly. N'zoth warrior gets you normally 7 extra Direhorn Matriarch, which are 7 extra cards and 7 extra threats. With a deck that needs so much card draw to work, it needs many more extra cards to not get into fatigue and short of cards too quickly. 4. The minions are way to low impact to justify a change from control defense to minion defense. They bring very little tension to the board. Direhorn Hatchling is a taunt and Mountainfire Armor is either 6 armor (huge value) or I chose where my minion trades. This leads me to... 5. Lack of Taunts. You play defense, but you don't have a single taunt (again, I had no Twin Emperor, which I'm sure it would help with this) which means you can not efficiently stop the aggro, or force bad value trades from them, with N'Zoth version, you can end up playing 16 taunts against your opponent. I tried playing Twilight Geomancer, so at least C'Thun was also a taunt, but the card just has way too low impact, and not buffing C'Thun is just huge. 6. The C'Thun defense mechanism always just felt short. While on paper being able to deal huge amounts of damage to the board and leave a huge guys seemed a great comeback mechanism, it just was never enough. I usually ended up playing C'Thun when the board look too scary and had no other answer. It would normally leave a couple of low life minions still up, and they would just go over its head without taunt to finish me off. If it could be combo with Sleep with the Fishes or Execute it would be great, but it would never fully deal with big scary boards.

Overall, the difference between the excitement of pulling off many victories from the edge of defeat, and loosing many games by always just barely not being able to deal with the board, is just huge. With more C'Thun minions with taunt (like Ancient Shieldbearer) or card draw, maybe it could work. I also understand why two Dead Man's Hand may be needed, as it just runs out of cards and threats too quickly with only one. I had some fun messing around with the deckbuilding, and trying to find the balance between card draw/armor/taunts and C'Thun buffs, but without both things synergising by themselves, it was too difficult with a package that needs a lot of resources just to stay alive and control the board. I'll still keep an eye out in case someone builds an optimized version and return to it. Anyways, still thanks El_Sabidon for getting me to spend some hours messing around with it, it is always fun to try a challenge!

I feel like I need to have an Ode to N'zoth Warrior. That deck is so much fun. So I am a F2P player. My main account (EU) does alright, where I can play many Tier 2 archetypes, but still never been able to have a whole deck of a Tier 1. Best rank I've reached is Rank 2 last season with Kazakus Warlock, and some version of Jade Druid, without Aya Blackpaw or Fandral Staghelm, so I made more aggro. Best fun I had was with Renolock, druing the Pirate Warrior infested months.

In my Americas server, I got as cards from the starter packs (never really invested much time there, just log in to get the free stuff) N'Zoth, the Corruptor and as my DK Scourgelord Garrosh. The other day I thought, that seeing how I have those two key cards and one Dead Man's Hand, I could craft that deck and see if I could climb it to rank 15 (usually, I just hit rank 20). The whole point to have another account was just that, to get different legendaries, and try archetypes I couldn't on my main server. So took all my dust, and crafted it (No Dirty Rat unfortunately, throwing 800 dust on Sleep with the Fishes before rotating seemed enough).

Since then, I never go to the EU server, and just play on my Americas server. At first, I was not used at all, and got some victories, but only 40% WR. The more I played it, the more I understood how it worked, the more I won, and the more fun I had. I can now say this is the most fun deck I have ever played. The amount of thinking every turn is huge, and the reward of winning is even bigger. I have now a 60% WR (so far all games rank 10 or above). After last few games, I just felt I had to shout out how much fun this deck is. It is just a great archetype. So many games your opponent has you at 1 health, or is in such a dominating position, and yet you manage to come back and beat him, it is so rewarding. Last one I meet a Kazakus Mage, which is by far my worst class again (only Mage and Warlock have WR less than .5, and both below .3), which usually brings despair on  me. And I just managed to beat him. FeelsGoodMan.

Anyways, felt the deck earned a shout out for how much fun it is bringing me, and that is what i just did. If you have the cards for it and isn't too much dust to complete it, people should give it a try!

Thanks! You are right about the RNG cards. I disagree about Arcanologist being RNG, as it is a situational card, not based on RNG (beyond card draw). Breath of Sindragosa is RNG, but I played it always when they had one minion only, so it did not feel like I ever had to high roll with it. Same with Y'shaarj, half of the time it was on the board it didn't pull anything as it was late game. And when it drew, it never got one of my big guys. But yes, that is one true RNG card, and changed my comment to reflect that. What I had more in mind was no discover cards, summon a random cards, or any of those cards that can make or break your game. Breath of Sindragosa is hardly that. And while Y'Shaarj classifies as that, it didn't feel like it for me during the run, and that is why it skipped my mind when I wrote that.

posted a message on 12 Win Decklists.

So this is my first 12 win run! And I did it with a deck with NO DK or MVP Legendaries (Moroes and Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound). In fact when I crafted it, with a score of 68.5, I was happy to get 5 wins with it (my average). Couldn't believe this got me 12 wins. Many of them were won in extreme situations, and I had a blast of a time.

It was a Mage/Warlock(HP) Control Deck, with NO Flamestrike, Firelands Portal, BonemareAbyssal Enforcer, Fireball, Polymorph, Meteor, Primordial Glyph. Also hardly any RNG cards! Just good solid plays. Thats it. So enjoy the deck, and be honest of how many wins you would have guessed this deck would have had.

So this deck won because of one thing, and one thing only. CARD DRAW. I will draw my whole deck extremely fast an efficiently. The Warlock Hero power helped. Arcanologist hardly ever went without a draw. And half the time, I was able to play Coldwraith with draw as well. Also, some times I was able to land DOOM!, and get my hand size up to 9. (Also y'Shaarj, would get minions out my deck). I meant I also run out of cards when my opponent had more than 10 cards left in their deck. But it meant that in 16 turns I played all my cards. That was too many things too fast for my opponent to fight, while always denying the board.

I felt that my most MVP card was Counterspell. After 6 wins, everybody had Druid or Mage as one of their classes. Having Counterspell, waiting for turn 10 for Druid or Turn 7 for Mage, made their amazing deck, into an alright deck. And their supporting cast were my two Arcanologist, which made sure I had a good early game, and my spells by those turns. All those Flamestrike and Ultimate Infestation denied, were just huge.

The legendaries are normally the ones who carry you. In this case Moroes was great in the first games. When you play bad decks without good AOE, it just gave a lot of value. But after a couple wins, every deck could just handle it. Y'Shaarj, was a great game closer. More by its huge 10/10 stats, as it hardly ever brought anything crazy good out of the deck. But if it sticks, it either killed him, and forced him to spend a lot of resources. But Y'shaarj, would never have been so great without the two Frozen Crusher. This guys were big enough to force resources from the opponent, before I brought Y'Shaarj, and my opponent had no answer. Big shout out also to DOOM!, despite not being needed most of the time, it won me two or three games.

Those curious about the reward. From my pack I got a legendary. It was Arfus, but I guess you can't have everything in life...

Well, from my tavern brawl free pack, I also got a legendary. Milhouse Manastorm. So the trend is still there. 5 legendary in 21 packs today. None of them useful.

No. It is about to rotate out. And without Lyra the Sunshard or Prophet Velen it looses a lot of its Tier 1 power. If you really want to play it, craft the three of them. If you want a good Priest legendary only to have fun, craft Lyra. But don't craft just Raza just to play a Tier 1 deck. Because you can't without the other two legendaries. (But if you want the combo, and don't care about trying to hit legendary. Then go ahead and have fun until the set rotates out.

So I took the freedom to test it out with 10 pack of KFT. Had my last legendary 5 packs ago, so I guess I had a 50% of getting one if it was not true. Got 3 Legendary in the 10 packs (Arfus, Murabi, Archbishop, so as you can imagine not too thrilled about it). So I went and tried again with 10 Ungoro packs. Got one Spirit Singer Umbra. So I can not deny that this is not true.

posted a message on Screwed up my most epic game!

After grinding all the Rogues and Priests on ladder, from time to time you find one of those brave players who play different decks and you can have a truly fun game with. And finally, I had one of those games set to become truly epic. Him, N'zoth Dead Man Warrior. Me,  Kazakus Warlock. But what made this game different was that I got Archbishop Benedictus off Kabal Courier. So forget about Fatigue, N'Zthos a plenty (I even mind contolled one of his Cairne Bloodhoof, and got Infested Tauren off Stonehill Defender, to make my ones also decent). It was all nice and ready, set up to become one of those games for which one plays Hearthsone.

Except for the fact that the guy playing Warlock is an idiot. The Warrior throws his second N'Zoth, the Corruptor. I have Baine Bloodhoof on board, and Tainted Zealot with Defile on hand. I have a full board clear (I am already Bloodreaver Gul'dan). All I need to do is hit my Baine Bloodhoof with any Direhorn Hatchling before Defile, and we are all set to take this game to the annals of long games, with a twist that I am very sure it is not seen often. But guess what, I forgot to hit first Baine to 2 health, making the board  unanswerable.

It hurts so much to waste like that what would have been my most epic game, I had to share it with someone. I would have even preferred to lose it on disconnect than like this. But alas, it is what it is. And now I ponder about what it could have been, wishing for another great match to show up between a priest and a rogue...
