As you see in the picture below, I have a problem. In my opinion Tarim is a must in a deck like this, maybe better then any of the listed cards. But what should I cut out? My first bet was Mojomaster Zihi, but he is nuts... All the cards have their place for a good reason, so help me out, please.
The picture is also attached, in case the inserted picture's quality is not good enough.
What i dont understand is why do you want ti Discard without Quest? :D sounds like a lose lose situation for me. But Change my mind. @kiszelkap :D
The quest is just bad. A big tempo loss and then you have to play the portal which is not that rewarding.
The discard mechanic was alive before the quest, and with the new direction it can lead to a manageable way. I don't know if it will be good, but I see potential behind discarding Zavas or Jeklik multiple times and bringing extra copies to your hand with Soulwarden. And the new discard cards are really good in vacuum. It's more like an extra addition for value, early-game and combo then a build-around.
Considering that Whalen didn't even know how Ice Walker interacts with Spirit of the Dragonhawk in the recent stream, I wouldn't put too much weight on his statement.
very true, he even makes a weird sneer has he notices Ice Walker not working as he thought.
It will work, he confirmed on Twitter that the interaction was buggy during the stream and it will work correctly at release.
After the realease of Boomsday, I was trying to create a meme deck with Dr. Morrigan. Its biggest weakness was the very very weak early-game.
Now, the recently revealed cards (Reckless Diretroll, High Priestess Jeklik and Shriek) are all good tools to stay alive. The 2 mentioned minions are also an okay pull with Morrigan.
Maybe Despicable Dreadlord would be a nice addition, but we'll see. And it's also possible that the charge package is not that good and a less-combo more-control way would be better... I'm not trying to invent the new Tier 1 deck, just something which can bring fun and some wins.
Feel free to write a comment and make suggestions!
I choose Crystallizer because of the effect it push´s your synergy with Lesser Amethyst Spellstone but first its good because you can discard it. And the Second Soulwarden too get things back.
To be honest I still don't really see a reason for the quest, it doesn't have enough support. And if you cut the quest out, The Soularium will not be needed at all if you ask me.
A control deck is about controlling, discard is random. U will never make this work in a control deck, its needs to be aggro or midrange. Discard is bad i dont think any deck will be good if u build it totaly around discard.
The good discard cards are: Doom guard, soulfire, shriek and maybe diretroll and priestess. Rest are really bad cards
Just partly agree. Discard is really an unpredictable mechanic, but the new condition (Discard your lowest cost card) is manageable. In a slower matchup it's not hard to hit Clutchmother Zavas or High Priestess Jeklik.
If you are playing against aggro, it's not a big deal to discard something if you survive.
Sure, maybe I'm wrong, we'll see at the release. It's also possible that the deck will work somehow but there will be better Warlock decks. I'm not trying to invent the new Tier 1 monster, just experimenting, and maybe the result will be something playable.
I don't really see the point of the quest, the deck can discard only 7 cards. I love the idea of Glinda Crowskin, but does 5 cards really worth for it? I mean... one aoe and the board will disappear. And the deck has 5 cards which are supporting this combo.
My another problem is The Soularium. It can discard too many important cards and the deck has just 1 copy of Soulwarden. Because of this your combo is also in danger.
By the way I made the mentioned changes, this is how my deck looks now:
Currently the deck has 4 discard cards, which are controllable. Lakkari Sacrifice needs more discards and I don't really see why should a control-ish deck force itself to (possibly) discard key high cost cards to complete a not very strong quest.
Moreover in my opinion all cards have their spot in the deck and I'm already in trouble with Rin, the First Disciple which I would like to take in.

Well, Odd Dragon Warrior is not bad. If you have the cards, give it a shot.

We'll see at release, now it's just guessing. :)

The changes I'm currently considering to my deck:
- 2x Charged Devilsaur
- 2x Doomguard
- Silver Vanguard
+ Dark Pact
+ Rin, the First Disciple
+ Possessed Lackey
+ 2x Despicable Dreadlord
But maybe Da Undatakah is a too risky option. I mean, it can be pulled off by Dr. Morrigan... we'll see at release.

Well, in my opinion Dr. Morrigan doesn't fit into the deck. It's really anti synergic with most of your cards. You don't want to pull Baleful Banker, Lord Godfrey, Gnomeferatu, Stonehill Defender or Kobold Librarian from your deck. Or if you have some kind of board and it pulls Doomsayer...
Maybe Possessed Lackey would be a nice addition. Also Rin, the First Disciple as a tech against greedier decks.

Don't really see a reason for Crystallizer, there are much better options in a deck which has control tools. I mean Stonehill Defender and High Priestess Jeklik are all good options instead.

I'm thinking about these changes:
- Skull of the Man'ari
- Rotten Applebaum
+ Dark Pact
+ Rin, the First Disciple
With the changes above I only have to figure out which card should be taken out for a copy of Possessed Lackey. But maybe it's not that necessary.
