remember that the levels you reached now have been easy. You are still at a little over 3k a level, wait until a level is 8k.

First 25 levels: 41,700 XP. Next 25 levels: 150,500 XP.

There's been a lot of discussion about the end-of-season gold hoard we're likely to have and, while not everyone agrees (nor do we have all the information), many believe that we'll have less, or significantly less, than before. One thing that I haven't seen discussed in detail is how much less we'll have if we only do the quests we did before (i.e. ignoring weekly quests) and rack up a few wins in the process.

I'm currently at Level 25 and need 3,450 XP for the 150g that comes with reaching Level 26. This represents almost 4 daily quests' XP. In the old system it would've taken fewer than 3 dailies to net the same gold. By the time one reaches Level 50+, you need up to 4,500 XP for each 150g or about 5 completed dailies. Going from Level 48 to 50 requires an astronomical 18,300 XP and awards just 300g (and a portrait). That's 20 daily quests worth of XP for 300g!

    Rewards Track info: https://hearthstone.gamepedia.com/Rewards_Track

Now I think it's great that we have weekly quests and accomplishments to complete (as well as additional cosmetics), but these are extra challenges we chose to do and shouldn't been included in a like-for-like comparison between the new and old systems. Any extra work (e.g. weekly quests) should offer rewards above and beyond the previous system.

I really like the idea of the Rewards Track but, man, does it feel bad.

Happy to say that people seem to be standing firm against this corporate greed this time. Just a few days since expansion released yet my friends list, normally brimming with hearthstone players had just one on last night.

The majority of my friend list is hearthstone players so this is quite telling.

Has anyone else noticed this on their own lists?

Everyone says it’s not paying money that will hurt Blizzard the most, but I disagree. I think merely not playing at all until they fix it will help the exact same cause. I know for certain they have gone too far this time. Never seen so many angry and negative comments from so many in all the years since release!

So, who's bought the new Give C'Thanks Bundle then? Remember, it's a limited-time offer!

Logged into HS a hour or two ago only to see there is a new bundle in the store, the Give C'Thanks Bundle. 2 MDF legendaries and 20 SA packs for 20€. Didn't take long, did it?

Tickatus-style disruption is an interesting and useful counter to combo decks. Otherwise it'd only be aggro decks trying to go under them.

So I've been seeing a lot of posts about Tickatus recently (even made one myself on it's card page) but after having then gotten the card from level 25 in the tavern pass and played with it myself, it kind of feels like people are actually being a bit too dramatic? Or at least, we have a very vocal minority here.

It's reasonable to say that a majority of my games i haven't even been able to play tickatus - including a lot of my wins - and i still lose just as many games after playing him as i win. In this pretty aggro meta we seem to have forming, he's not anything insane.

Again, this is just my experience, but it really don't feel like the game breaking card everyone says it is.

That doesn't change the fact that it's effect really isn't a healthy one for the game, but still, it shouldn't be outright nerfed, because then it would just be bad - some kind of rework would be perfectly fine. Or just leave it like it is, which is honestly what I'm expecting Blizzard to do.

Yeah, I haven't had any significant problems playing against Tickatus. I win some, I lose some - and probably more of the former.

Most recent Tickatus Warlock I faced milled ten of my cards, including my reassembled C'Thun, the Shattered, and then domed me for 10 with Y'Shaarj, the Defiler while I had Eye for an Eye up. Allowed me to finish him off with a Pyroblast to the face. You know, all those cards you expect to see in Rogue... ;)

Nah, none of these cards are OP or overly bothersome. Been 12/12 clowns and ridiculously buffed totems all day for me. Still, not the biggest aggro Hunter fan...

posted a message on Where do you see Rogue headed in the meta?

I'm playing a C'Thun, the Shattered Rogue deck which is immense fun. So much value and interesting, varied play patterns. My most recent game, against a Warlock, went to fatigue. The one before that was wrapped up early with a second turn 8/8 Edwin VanCleef.

Rogue has fantastic card draw and tutoring options to find the pieces of the C'Thun puzzle. Running C'Thun, Grand Empress Shek'zara, StowawaySecret PassageDirty Tricks and Swindle for this.

Generation off Wand Thief, Pharaoh Cat and EVIL Miscreant helps keep one alive in the early game and provides flexibility later. Ticket Master has also proved key in many situations.

Running two other legendaries in addition to the three already mentioned: Shadowjeweler Hanar and Jandice Barov.

posted a message on Blizzard's response to the whole system revamp

Even buying MDF packs yesterday with the reward track gold I'd earned so far, I could only get 76 packs. I guess that's the price of a November release. (For the past few expansions, I've bought about 85 packs with gold.)

Having now spent a few of the reward track levels' gold an expansion early, I've worked out I'll need to get to about level 84 for the same amount of gold that I'm accustomed to stockpiling over a 4-month expansion. I'm currently on level 18.

It'll be interesting to see if this is more work than my usual dailies plus a few wins. (Just did a quick back-of-the-envelope calculation using the numbers off here and it'll take about 2,700 XP every day for 4 months - doesn't sound likely, but let's see.)

I also hope there 's resource support (extra XP, gold, dust, cards and packs) for the mini set coming in a couple of months. Fingers crossed.

Havent seen a single Yogg get played all day on ladder.

Haven't seen a single C'thun come together all day on ladder.

I think i've seen a total of 2 N'zoth's make some nice boards in Paladin and Warrior.

I've seen a handful of Y'Shaarj, but only seeing it in Warlock so far. Warlock has been by far the class I've gone up against the most on day 1.

Yogg and C'thun both might be too slow. Tickatus is pushing C'thun out of the meta. C'thun is already slow as it is, but the prevalence of Tickatus/Warlock variants is killing C'thun.

I played C'Thun three times in one game at D5 yesterday - rogue against priest. The third 30-damage hit finally finished him and his resurrection shenanigans off.

Played a few N'Zoths and Y'Shaarjs today with two different Paladin decks while while hovering around D4.

posted a message on When to open MDF packs? Now or later?

How does everyone plan to approach MDF pack openings and the mid-expansion mini set?

In the past, I've bought and opened all the packs I could on set release day, dusted any extra copies of cards, crafted the legendaries and epics I wanted, and spent the next 4 months saving for the next expansion. Rinse and repeat.

The calculus changes with a 35-card mini set dropping mid-expansion. What to do? Should one perhaps stop opening packs once one has all the commons and rares and keep the remaining packs for the mini set release?

Another consideration with the new reward track launching a week before MDF and being heavily front loaded is one could easily end up spending a large chunk of the expansion's gold now instead of squirreling it away for the first expansion of 2021. I played a few games this afternoon and already received 200g that'll almost certainly go towards MDF packs.
