Ive played a lot of tickatus and i can say to all of you RN its not viable. The deck is super fun and the combo of keltuzad with the new 4 mana corrupted spell is amazing but like 90% of games your opponent is gonna rekt you with no brain aggro so dont worry, youre a gonna see just some of those warlocks

So I've been seeing a lot of posts about Tickatus recently (even made one myself on it's card page) but after having then gotten the card from level 25 in the tavern pass and played with it myself, it kind of feels like people are actually being a bit too dramatic? Or at least, we have a very vocal minority here.
It's reasonable to say that a majority of my games i haven't even been able to play tickatus - including a lot of my wins - and i still lose just as many games after playing him as i win. In this pretty aggro meta we seem to have forming, he's not anything insane.
Again, this is just my experience, but it really don't feel like the game breaking card everyone says it is.
That doesn't change the fact that it's effect really isn't a healthy one for the game, but still, it shouldn't be outright nerfed, because then it would just be bad - some kind of rework would be perfectly fine. Or just leave it like it is, which is honestly what I'm expecting Blizzard to do.
This is my take on it. There has to be rules on how far you are allowed to destroy your opponents deck. But the core of the card stays the same
This is far too wordy and complicated to ever possibly be a viable option imo. Honestly, I expect they won't really touch it apart from maybe a mana increase but even that I'd doubt. Unless a future set gives it a viable home, this card probably will never change.
I think the body being 8/8 is already ridiculous, especially when you can get one guaranteed back from Y'shaar so having 2 shots at opponents deck. I hate the card, but if it needs to exist, it shouldn't discard 5 cards, I think 2 at maximum would still be extremely effective, considering you can play this card multiple times.
The mana cost should be upped, and the stats dropped. It is far too powerful as it is. ALso I agree with earlier suggestions of it still requiring you to mill your cards too. There is absolutely no downside to this card for the warlock. You would never play it uncorrupted, unless you had no cards left in your deck and needed a body on the board.
I can handle one loss of 5 cards per game, but when I know more are coming, it's just really depressing. Not enjoyable at all in any way for the opponent. The card (confirmation bias) is never in the last few cards of the warlock's deck.
I've done the Tickatus/Brann combo a couple times now, and I do agree as much fun as it is to disrupt combo decks, it's far too easy to pull off and just wins you the game on the spot many times. Not to mention leaving your opponent likely really salty. I don't get much enjoyment out of disrupting decks that don't rely on combos either.
I don't know how to modify this card, however. The effect needs to be changed completely. A mana adjustment isn't enough.
I think making Tickatus an 8 mana 8/8 actually solves the issue - not really any card currently in that deck would corrupt it (technically Y'shaarj would but then you can't play it tickatus twice
You could play Alex (some decks already do) maybe Y'sera, maybe rabbit, maybe collosus... you get it... it would force you to play an un-ideal card and basically leaves you with just one way to corrupt it so it's much harder to have both in hand... so yeah... I think there is a way a mana adjustment would be enough

I agree with your take on the poster’s change, maybe a mouthful of prerequisites for this game... but IMO I think a 6 mana 8/8 with game wrecking perks is pretty over the top. It is sooo easy to corrupt.
Honest question... what has you thinking it won’t be nerfed? I mean it’s blatantly dumb I think... I’m fine with trying to give Warlock some love but good god man! I see some similarities with Mindrender Illecia, and they found that too OP and nerfed her... Tickatus is Mindrender on steroids. They made her 3 mana so you can’t wreck their entire hand. Now you can’t use her for a tech against Tackatus unless you want to burn 5 freakin cards. Hecklebot is not a consistent enough to make a difference that we’d call “balanced”. Could the issue really be that it’s always played with Y’shaarj???? I have yet to come across a Warlock deck with Tickatus WITHOUT Y’shaarj. Nobody plays it before it’s corrupted cause that’s just silly.
I think the solution is that even when corruped it should still remove 5 cards from your deck so:
Battlecry: Remove 5 cards from your deck
Corrupt: and your opponent's
I would agree with this, and in addition lobby for it to be a loss of 3 cards rather than 5. Battlecry: Remove 3 cards from your deck. Corrupt: and your opponent's.

I'm just thinking once rhe novelty wears off, people won't be playing this card (exxept maybe in wild, which I dont care about and lets be honest, history shows neither does Blizzard). The deck has a mediocre winrate at best and when people get sick of playing a 45% deck, they'll move to something better. Not to mention I have won many games after Tickatus was played against.me. If this card was consistently deciding games, then it would be a priority but as it stands its just for the memes.
Honestly, after playing the deck quite a bit, although its super fun, overall the strategy is not that strong.
Sure it may feel unfair to have 5 (or 10) cards ripped from your deck, but the only way that has any impact is if you have a combo card removed, or if the game goes into fatigue. The deck still usually loses to aggro, and even against control you often still hit fatigue at the same time on account of you drawing so much just to find Tickitus and an activator. And what commonly happens is that you end up playing with a full hand that feels clumsy. For example you can easily end up with a full hand, and are left wandering what to throw out to use your hero power, or what two cards to throw out to be able to use Free Admission.
If anything, Cascading Disaster is the strongest card Warlock got this expansion, not Tickitus.
Once all of the dust settles, it will probably stabilize as a mediocre deck.
But I hope they don't change it, because even if the deck isn't top tier, it is still fun to play.
it kind of feels like people are actually being a bit too dramatic? Or at least, we have a very vocal minority here.
So far in all my games in D5+ I've only experienced a Tickatus warlock deck one time. And he only played it once.
Am I lucky that I didn't see more? Or maybe people are overreacting a bit...
I feel like I've seen way more clown druids, aggro shaman and demon hunters...
Anyway, not going to argue that burning cards off your deck is annoying, I could see the effect being tweaked in the future, but I don't see it as a big of a deal as people are claiming. This wouldn't be the first time in recent history.

Alright, my experience is a bit different...out of 5-ish games against it... it’s been an inevitable instant loss for me, unfortunately I’m just conceding against Warlock now. I prefer a bit slower game (I.e. Control) and this effect is not easy to overcome. I play some Priest aggro and Libram Pally but I don’t think I’ve faced this Warlock deck with those decks. Just a different experience I guess.
remove the DEMON tag give him a deathrattle when he's corrupted as well: return the 5 cards tossed in the deck
so you cant use jank demon search and duplication shenanigans on it, and to make it's deathrattle permanent, you need to use bardender like effects to return it in hand, making it also a big tempo loss removing 8/8 stats just like that from your board

Surely it's not about win rates or metas or stats, it's about the fact that 1 card pretty much makes at least one major form of deck building unplayable and will do so for the next 16 months, plus countless cards totally worthless. If HS is rock, paper & scissors then the developers just gave the rock a box of matches.

Yeah, but here’s the thing, there hasn’t been a control favored meta since demon hunter has dominated. The control archetypes lack the healing and removal they need to deal with the current meta. Could you just imagine how bad clown druid would be if Mass Hysteria were still available? So now the question is will blizz try to tilt back towards control after having unmitigated aggro success or just stay aggro favored? Because control won’t be prevalent again with Tickatus and Glide around... but blizz isn’t even trying to make control viable so it’s a moot point.

Can't complain. Losing to aggro turn 4 feels worse. They don't allow you to play your cards either.
Also, the meta changes. Shaman (Evolve and Enhance) are good against it.
