posted a message on Will Blizzard emergency nerf cards?

Honestly they need to do something about freeze mage OTK. Because the constant freezing of mage has been an issue already, as it stops you from playing the game, but considering the last game I had, I had lethal on board for 6 turns, but couldn't attack once due to 2 blizzards, 3 frost novas (magic trick always seems to offer it when they need it), and 2 ray of frost, it feels like when I que up against a mage, I might as well go and make a coffee. I had over 40 health worths of minions on my side of the field, and it didn't even matter. Stalled me hard enough that they just needed 1 turn to deal effectively over 70 damage (they did use devolving missiles, which annoyingly hit all three of my 12+ health minions). Mages ability to just stop the game from happening reliably now is a problem.

Plus now their win turn can take upwards of over a minute of animations, which is real fun to sit through. Feels like first week shudderwock all over again. Except that deck you could at least try and rush them down.

Short of nerfing poltec so they don't garuntee draw 2 blizzards though, I don't know how to fix it. It's a major issue in design, not balance by this point

posted a message on The Paladin class needs a rework.

Frankly paladin could really just use a libram that draws at this point. A 4 mana libram that draws 2 would be quite helpful. Or maybe if they wanted the pure archetype to be pushed, a 2 mana spell that draws 1, then draws 1 more if you only have paladin cards in the deck. Either way, effective draw would be fixed while buffing one of the class identities would be excellent.

But I do think libram paladin did get buffed this set, if not directly. The priest/paladin legendary is essentially a paladin card more than priest, and fits libram excellently, Devout Pupil is an excellent slot in for librams, goody two shields is good to help fill out the early game, and personally I think first day of school is better than imprisoned sungill.

At this point all paladin misses is a good draw engine, as we can all see, and a good direct removal method. The paladin legend gets close to that, but is just too expensive for what it does.

Including the free promo legends like galakronds, 73 in standard, 35 more for wild. I'm a FTP who missed boomsday through league of evil.

Hardly winmore. You just need a couple of free trades and you already gained a ton of value. Not to mention that this card is quite cheap to play as well.

Yes, but you need to be in a position to have cards to trade first. That's what we mean by win more. If you're a tempo deck with an existing board already, you're in a good position to begin with. Cards that require established boards, especially when low tempo themselves, can struggle. Sure, the turns where he's a power house will happen, but a lot of games he's going to be quite underwhelming.

I can't help but feel this is going to be a bit of a win more card. You're going to need a field to trade in for him to have an effect. Typically there aren't that many cards that can use his effect the same turn they're played with him, but this is still a very strong anthem effect. Certainly can break stalemates and close games very effectively. I'm not sure how much demon hunter will be wanting to use this, as they'd rather have higher tempo plays on turn 3-5, but singleton hunter can probably find a slot for this very comfortably.

Is this card good? Yes, on curve stats, and a really threatening effect. Is it broken? As of the moment, I don't think so. You wouldn't play this guy in aggro as he doesn't do anything by himself, so Arcane Shot seems unlikely to find a deck along side him, but the obvious power play is Rapid Fire. I guess I see him making a space in singleton hunter, maybe some alterations are made to add both the 1 mana shot cards, but outside of that you have Corrosive BreathKill Command and maybe Marked Shot. The bigger they are, the less impressive this card seems. And I'm not even considering Explosive Trap, as this guy has pseudo taunt, you're almost never going to even consider hitting face while he's around unless you specifically want to trigger and waste it.

Certainly will be played around with, and I like that experimentation. But I can imagine a world where he gets cut from singleton decks, and unless a spell control hunter somehow appears, he might not find a home in any deck, just due to the lack of support for him.

You will be less likely to be in position to find lethal because you are running this card, which does not itself push tempo.

Aggro paladin ran Divine Favor, a 3 mana card that clogged up the hand, was more situational to play, and used up more mana to reduce the effectiveness the turn it was played, and was so strong that it got hall of famed. Aggro and tempo decks have and will always run good, cheap reload cards. Why an aggro deck wouldn't run a quick 1 mana draw 5, I will never know.

This is just a pretty nice tempo card. Obviously the dream is to play it with a Libram of Hope, or heavily buffed card to get out a lot of cheap stats, but frankly a 2 mana 4/5 is pretty amazing, and I imagine that's where it's stats are going to end up on average. The biggest issue with it though is it's low cost is misleading, as you are almost never going to want to play this on curve. I'd compare it to something like Devout Pupil in terms of when it might get played, as in a burst of cheap stats at some point in the mid to late game. Certainly an excellent tool though, and since paladin isn't struggling for good 2 drops at the moment, I don't think it's going to complain.

I guess this works alright for paladin to cheat out extra copies of Libram of Wisdom, but paladin really lacks the cards needed to make this shine, especially good deathrattles. Priest however, are going to love it. Sethekk Veilweaver and Convincing Infiltrator especially come to mind, but Sandhoof Waterbearer and everyone's favourite, Archmage Vargoth all seem to be great choices for this card as well.

I'm not sure how priest is going to handle this card, because Plague of Death or Time Rip are going to be some really nasty cards to fish out with her effect, making her a bit more inconsistent, but paladin is going to have a field day with her. Being able to tutor and cheat out a Libram of Wisdom as your low roll is actually amazing by itself, but you could effectively turn her into a 5/8 draw a card if you hit Hand of A'dal, make her be a Veranus with Libram of Justice (just hope you don't have a weapon equipped), clear out and chip your opponents board with Consecration (arguably the low roll, but still nothing to complain about), or high roll and hit Libram of Hope, turning her into potentially the biggest tempo play the game has available on turn 4 (or 3 with some super rng going second). This card is going to be a huge push of power for libram paladin, and I am here for it.

    Possible Tip the Scales comeback?

While possible, it's hard to make work consistently, as you need a spell to trigger the spellburst. So you'd need to run something in addition to scales. But at that point you're now risking the other card to trigger instead. It could be that running Hand of A'dal and Tip the Scales as your only spells could work. So at worst she ends up being a 5/8 draw a card when you trigger her spellburst, and at best, summon a load of murlocs. Still inconsistent, but a possibility.

The only change I would want is if they made it so that it could only target minion demons. Not friendly minions, all minions. But can't target the opponents face, so can't kill jaraxxus.

This ordinarily wasn't an issue, as jaraxxus didn't see play, but the fact that shadow council can put him in your hand, and zephyrus can pull a pact into their hand for free, means we have occasional games where it's decided by cards that neither player actually put in their deck, and feels anticlimatic for both.

posted a message on Karthut Defender needs an nerf.

6 mana for what can very easily be a 3/5 taunt heal 6? Perfectly fine. Unless we want the game to be all aggro all the time, we need cards like karthut to exist. Sure it can be annoying, but trust me, without some annoying cards like it, the game will be a lot, lot worse.
