posted a message on The Dark Portal.....

For those saying it's easy, it sure can be. But when your hand by turn 4 is nothing but minions that cost 5 or more, and two copies of divert forces (a genuinely asinine card), it really can just be impossible. It's poorly designed because the variance of your draws and card quality is bizarre, and the deck has no cohesion in it. Compare it to the game before, where it just gives you a libram deck and a hero power the deck has built around, and that makes more sense from a design point, since hall of heroes is meant to tell a story. It's not meant to be a major challenge.

For clarities sake, I had 2 hands that were utter trash and couldn't survive past turn 6. My third game my opponent drew poorly and I had some form of plays for the early game so could try to control the board a bit, and it became easy. But that was pure luck by that point. In addition, I am a control player, who made legend last month playing 4 old god warrior.

Honestly I see this as going to excel as the top end of token druid. If druid can go wide, and get sticky, this card is going to cause so many headaches it'll be nightmarish. I'm excited to see how much it can fit in.

I don't think this is great at the moment with the pool of cards DH has, but now that it exists we have to be vigilant. This can open up a lot of combo shenanigans if DH ever gets the right cards.

It was obviously bad from the get go. People just didn't like Demon Hunter and decided to take their anger out on that card.

It's more people thought DH was broken, so every DH card that looks potentially good must be the comming of the end. We saw it with Kreen, star student, and glide. All cards that see little to no play, but were all insisted to be broken. The first legend I pulled was Kreen, and while I thought he was going to be mediocre this expansion, I thought that it was probably better to have than not. I play singleton hunter, and I don't even fit him in that deck.

posted a message on Your best winnig board EVER!

Honestly it has to be my only run with jandice so far. Golden taunt divine shield pogo that was 240/242, and another pogo that was over 100/100, with a bran on board. Also a few mediocre pirates I never got off the ground.

Also I have to say, I love just how direct and literal the german translation of Millhouse Manastorm is. Seing him called Millhaus made me chuckle.

At this point I have to ask if this is a satire account. Blad hasn't been in common use since the mid to late 2000s, and I swear with every post you make your spelling and syntax gets more and more bizarre. And I think this has to be the peak, when you're trying to criticise someone else for in-coherency. If it is satire, then bravo I guess, though I would have thought the joke would be wearing thin by this point.

Honestly at this point Hearthpwn needs far stricter moderation. Every day I find the threads are getting worse and worse, and I don't remember it always being this way.

Is the game flawed? Oh 100%. No question. It can be far too swingy, and there are certainly cards and mechanics that probably shouldn't exist, or are overtuned. But it's tiresome how many people make it about themselves. None of us matter as individuals, so I don't know why they think the company would make significant steps to screw them over specifically? All that matters to blizz is games are played, not of who wins the games.  But people seem to be getting weirder and weirder with it all.

Plus there's whatever is going on in the Jaina thread. Jesus guys, quench your thirst already, it's pretty creepy.

I dunno, I used to like this site more on an older account that I have long since lost. I don't remember it being quite so...this.

posted a message on Is there a hope that old wild cards will see play again?

Honestly wild does change up every now and then, as well as a lot of old decks still being more than usable. Secret paladin made a surprise comeback for a bit, after being out of the loop for years. It you want to play against old decks, good luck. Popular decks are popular, and in wild they stick around. But if you want to play with old, or different decks, you can often get some good mileage, especially if people don't know what it is you're doing.

posted a message on Aggro Totem Shaman - Need help please

The minion lineup looks about right, but the spell line up can use some real changes. Devolve and Totemic Smash aren't that helpful for what you're trying to get to. They're removal options, when realistically, you're trying to close the game up by around turn 5-6.

Considering you're swarming the board, running Storm's Wrath is far more useful, and gives you a real comeback off of goliath, while also synergising well with your 1 drop cards. Also Serpentshrine Portal is an incredibly flexible card that can be used as tempo, removal, and game ending damage.

I'd also probably recommend cutting a copy of Bloodlust, replacing it with Vessina. The reduced mana cost makes her more flexible, and will clog your hand up less. And can still just be played for tempo.

Another change that might be worth considering is I don't know how good Trick Totem actually is. Obviously it's great for the curve, but Flametongue Totem is a very consistent totem that has won me a lot of games back in AoO for me.

The last cards that are worth considering, but I don't know how to fit them in would be Instructor Fireheart as a flexible game ender, that can basically be the god tier topdeck, Flamewreathed Faceless as a huge stat swing on 4, that still doesn't lock you out of your strong 3 drops the turn after, and Cumulo-Maximus as a tempo swing and potential game ender.

Hope this gives you some ideas, and helps a bit. I wish you luck with your tinkering.

Nothing to see here, just full blown confirmation bias party.

Unless you have collected sufficient statistical data to disprove this your opinion is just as unfounded.

That's...not how unfounding of opinions work. It's up to the party making the positive claim to actually provide the statistical data for it to be anything more than conjecture.

Considering single cards taking all missiles despite not being the only card on the field is a fairly likely outcome on a statistical level (25% on a 2 minion board, ~11% on a 3 minion board, 6.25% on a 4 minion board, etc), just saying because you've seen them happen a few times in a small sample size does not make a good argument. It's a statistical guarantee due to the odds not being negligible that there are people out there who will see only triple hits in a lot of games. Those people are going to get a pretty skewed view of the card, but that is just how statistics work. They need to be based off of thousands of games to collect a solid sample size.

It is worth pointing out there is going to be some collection bias on the card as well. Due to its' random nature, it's more likely to be used on smaller boards than larger boards, so it's going to be played in situations that are increasing the odds of it multi-hitting cards. You're never going to play it against a 5+ minion board unless you're really desperate, but those are the boards where it becomes significantly less likely to multi-hit, and should actually be the game state that this should be tested in if we think it's a mechanical bug.

There's going to be a significant bit of confirmation bias going on with this. Every time it happens as you expect, you won't remember it. Why would you? Just the card doing "what it should". However, the times it does something unexpected, you'll take note of that. Not to mention, what's being talked about isn't that statistically unlikely. Not given how often that card gets played.

posted a message on Issue against Bomb Warrior

As a pure paladin player, it's honestly a really fun matchup that tests how well you know your deck and the opponents. I constantly keep a mental track of the big removal spells they play, and always hold back enough that I will be able to generate more threats while still baiting out removal. Honestly the biggest thing I've found is always play around bladestorm. It can be tricky to do sometimes, but I have purposefully not played optimally just to make sure I have big guys after a bladestorm. The button also makes the matchup sometimes frustrating for them, completely ruining their bladestorm sometimes.

posted a message on Which Deck Can Process Without Losing
    Quote from Pr1ncipe4i20 >>
    Quote from Crawver >>

Do you not see you're going in a cycle right now? You play a deck, find there's a matchup you lose, so you ask what deck beats the deck you lose to, switch to it, find you have another matchup that that deck loses to, and go round and round in circles. You're asking for a magic bullet. A deck that wins every game. This deck does not exist. There is no deck that just wins for you, and there is no deck that has no bad matchups. It falls on you to play them well enough to win.

Plenty of people here have given you excellent advice. Tried really hard to help you it seems. But you keep trying to skip past. If there was a deck that just won everything, everyone would play it. This is a you problem. Either stick to a deck, learn how to play it well through practice, and get better naturally like how the rest of us have, or keep trying to chase the best deck, constantly learn the wrong lessons and ask the wrong questions, never actually progress, and will eventually quit out of frustration.

You can do better. Everyone can. But you have to work for it. And if you don't find the game fun enough to put that effort in, it might be worth asking yourself the question why you want to play this game anyway? It should be fun first.

Wow dude, u look so angry. If u can't help the guy why write this stuff? Be useful or gone.

Not at all. Just pointing to the fact that a pattern has emerged. I hope this guy finds a deck that works for him. I want people to enjoy the game. But it seems that the way he's going about it, and has essentially thrown out what is a lot of good advice others have given him to try and find the "magic bullet" deck. No anger in me what so ever about this, but my advice is to him to stop trying to find that perfect deck, as it doesn't exist. It's better to find a good deck, and learn it. That's the only real way to get yourself moving at the start.

Wow, thanks! Polkelt might be awkward but he can add some consistency. I will test it.

Do you think it is feasible to run Vargoth to double up on the DMH? I know it's extremely greedy but greed is kind of the theme here.

How do you plan on getting Drakkari Enchanter to work?

There are only 2 end of turn minions and you will have to hope 1 sticks on board.

While it's not my deck, I'm assuming it's the point of oakheart. He's guaranteed to pull out enchanter and dragonhatcher, as well as a taunt to protect the pair to give them a bit more chance to stick. And the point of polkelt is to garuntee a draw into oakheart.

To the point of the deck, I'd probably suggest removing n'zoth and dragonlord. As good as those cards are, they interfere with the main combo of the deck, as they cost 10, and you want oakheart to be your topdeck of polkelt. Should probably replace them both with primordial drakes, just to allow you more taunt of the dragonhatchers, as well as some removal if you're not drawing as expected.
