Just wanted to share that over the past few seasons I have been climbing to around rank 6-7 and I use a variety of decks ranging from Control Pally to Dragon Priest to Midrange Hunter. While all of these are fine and dandy to climb, I think it is important to learn how to stay away from net-deck recommendations and get a better understanding of deck building on your own.
I have made decks before that end up being very similar to popular decks on the net just because of how the meta works, but I think this time I want to do something that is really unheard of and make it work. Are there any cards out there that anyone wants to see more play but just doesn't have a place yet?
Daring Reporter was fun in a pre-ungoro mill druid, but with Brann gone haven't found a place for it yet...
Actually I just played a game against a similar card, Questing Adventurer with my Secret Mage. After playing two Sorcerer's Apprentice and Glyphing out a few spells for a very cheap cost he got beefy real quick.
How often is he played? Could fit in nicely with a Lyra Miracle Priest.
Miracle mage should be a thing now that mage has glyph. Giants, questing, antonidas, auctioneer, etc, could all easily work with the right build. I'm a middling miracle/freeze mage player though, so I doubt I'd be the best for creating such a deck.
You know, OP, I had similar plans some time ago, but the thing is most deck archetypes are similar, net-decking or not. For example I can't imagine making a Miracle Rogue without like 15-20 core cards that are present in pretty much every Miracle decklist.
However if you're looking to make something totally unheard of, it'll be problematic, as most deck archetypes already exist. Try to think about a deck type and attach it to a certain class. Control Hunter maybe?
Seems like most win conditions that aren't quests have fallen out of favor when quests came in. You could try using one of the old gods or something from MoG.
Personally I built a C'thun/Quest warrior that takes people by surprise every time. 2 win cons, so very consistent in hitting at least one of them.

Always fun when you have a second win condition. I'm using midrange token paladin in wild with Tarim being a big win condition, and i can discover 2 more with stonehill. running haunted creeper, shredder and tirion already so nzoth makes an excellent win condition vs control who have burned all their removal dealing with my aggressive early/mid game
Sudden Genesis Warrior. Make it work without looking up what others have tried :) Also great decision to practice deckbuilding, less netdecking helps keep the ladder experience fresh for yourself and others!
Edit: Apparently the card is in 4% of all warrior decks on Hearthpwn. Pretty unexpected, I've seen exactly zero on ladder :P
Pilfered Power Druid. This is one of my favorite cards and I got it to work okay in Wild (to Rank 3), but haven't tried it in Standard.
I used the early game of aggro druid combined with midrange and late-game threats. The perfect draw is the opening of aggro, then Pilfered Power, then the late-game of Ramp Druid. If you get lucky with your draws, it is very hard to lose.
I will note that in the games where I didn't draw Pilfered Power though, my winrate was more than cut in half xD.
After the Pilfered Power and Sudden Genesis sollutions, one thing that came to my mind is: search collection for "Epic" and make a deck out of any cool one you have 2 of. Epics usually have the coolest effects while still being legal to have 2 in a deck. Legendaries are cool to build around, but you have to have too much draw and too much focus on combos (Freeze Mage, RenoLock, etc).

Same. I've been trying it out lately, but it's far from optimized. I think it's a great card, though. I've been using it in an enrage-heavy deck with Rampage as well. I'd love to see somebody else figure it out.

I've no clue what I'm doing...

I want to see Violet Illusionist have more fun.
