So I have enough dust to create inkmaster solia and kazakas or raza the unchained and kazakus and a few other key cards to flesh out the decks. Which one should I choose?
I'd say reno mage is more likely to work in the future, the reno priest might not be a thing at all. Even though their legendary seems stronger (imagine these paletress, saraad comboes), my guess its still not good enough. Craft kazakus and try both classes to see what you like most, then craft legendary for this class. Or wait a bit until players figure out better new meta decks (probably will be hancho aggro). Or just go with your guts.
Reno Mage is insane and fun right now. For the first time ever I won midrange shaman and zoo locks. It is working and Kazakus is ridiculous strong. Solia to Kazakus 10 mana spell is a winner. Will try out Reno Shadow Priest later, I guess....but dragon priest seems stronger
I preffer mage. Priest has great cards but he needs duplicates to be effective in my opinion. I faced few highlander priest with my highlander mage and they stalled the game for a long time with healing and removal but they had no win condition.
Also, thanks to Ice block you don't have to play Reno preemptively to avoid hand bursts.
Well, any deck can do just fine with the perfect opening hand and draw but as I said, it is nearly impossible as Reno mage to win against the current midrange decks - hunter and shaman.
I don't mean to bring negativity here, it's just that I play mage a lot and I already tested the new Reno deck and it's still terrible against the decks mentioned above if you are not drawing the cards you need. I'm just warning the person who asked the question not to expect a good win rate at this very moment.
Tested a little Reno Mage yesterday and had a blast, even tough I wasn´t lucky enough to have either Kazakus [/card] or [card]Inkmaster Solia.
I think Reno Mage is a better option, amongst those two, because it can provide more redundance, as mage has more (and better!) single target removal AND AoE effects. Priest got some nice cards this expansion, but the new dragon-opperative-stuff does not work on a Reno deck, since you cannot have all that dragon sinergy.
Besides the clear tempo advantageprovided by Solia, another relevant aspect that got me a win against another Reno Mage is the new mage card which shuffles a minnion back into your deck. You can use it to have a 2nd Reno in a control matchup, and I suppose it works just as fine to put another Kazakus on a match where you are the aggressor.
My only worry ATM is the lack of a very definitive win condition for Reno Mage, since it cannot relly on fatigue to seal the deal when there are Jade Gollen decks on the meta. All those cheap giant gollens on the late game are too much to deal with.

I have been playing Reno mage too. What you say about win condition is true, if not golems will crush you. What I did is tech in Alex. That burst to 15 health lets you finish the game just before the board is swarmed by golems. Frost nova and blizzard are important to make the golems useless while you get the 2-3 turn lethal.
Hum, interesting option, using Allex! Haven´t seen much heal outside Reno decks and the eventual hero power of Dragon Priest. I don´t personally own Alex, but have some dust sitting from the duplicate cards issue, as soon as I get to test decks a little more, I might craft her, together with Kazakus.
Another possible option is Antonidas, which I also don´t onw. Do you have an oppinion on Alex vs Antonidas? Alex seems faster, but less reliable, due to armor, heal, etc.

This
I played a game vs. Zoo where he went to fatigue exhausting all his resources and I hadn't even drawn any of the freeze spells, Doom Sayer or Flamestrike. Kazakus, Volcanic Potion and Kabal Chemist give you that extra AOE that was missing from the deck earlier and made the deck struggle against aggro.
Manic Soulcaster has also been surprisingly good. Giving me an extra copy of one of the big three (Reno, Kazakus and Toni) without losing any tempo like you do with the panda.

Manic soulcaster also helps in the fatigue battle. It works very good.
Dragon Priest are the worse matchup. Golems you can go face, use Kazakus and frozen spells to gain tempo and win with Soila + Pyroblast or go to Tony + Frost Nova for a huge damage last turn. Dragon Priest is really hard because its pretty damn hard to remove and trade with their creatures, you should probably try the long game against them. Here is the deck that I'm using right now.

Tested Inkmaster Solia a few games already, the combo with Flamestrike or Firelands Portal is insane, as expected.
I'd go for Reno mage but as someone said above, get Kazakus and try both Reno Mage and Reno Priest before going further into crafting things.
I used to be a control player like you, then I took a quick shot to the knee.
Right now, Reno mage stands no chance whatsoever against the current midrange decks. Priest might be have a higher chance of surviving those.
But honestly, you should just choose the class you prefer the most.

Cool, guys! Thanks for all the input. I think i'll go with mage.

I'd go with mage, as priest has a better archetype(dragon) and the mage legendary card seems to be really fun.
