Well Hearthstone is the extreme side of RNG, and that is fine. This is going for almost no RNG. Obviously card draw and mulligan is always RNG, but other than that the few RNG effects are ones you can control and strategize around.
Devartet when it launches on August 14th it will be available in many more regions. Oh also PC release is coming, there has already been one in Japan and it should be coming to Steam soon.
Nicholasjh. The 5/5 you are talking about is Mordecai the Duelist. No doubt a strong card, but most people tech in transformation cards. You transform him into something else, and his deathrattle doesn't go off. Haven has many tools to banish (destroy while ignoring deathrattles) as well. Let me know if you have any specific questions.
Perhaps my collection is just too weak so far. I'm really enjoying Rune craft... kind of like miracle rougue, but I haven't come accross any transformation cards yet.

Oh Runecraft has Petrification, a 3 cost card that transforms any creature or amulet into a 2/2 clay golem, if you have an earth sigil up it banishes the amulet/creature instead. It also has winter caprice which transforms everything into 1/1 snowmen for 5 mana cost. You can find all the cards in Shadowverse here....also a good place to build decks which you can then import into your game.
Game received it's global release yesterday, and is now available in many more regions. They added: Take 2, which is an interesting spin on arena format, 2 more chapters to each characters story campaign, alternate heroes, card sleeves, and visually made things even more impressive.
The first expansion card set will be called "Darkness Evolved" and will focus on the evolution mechanic. It will be released between September 21st and September 30th. At this time also...
1. More deck slots
2. Max hand size increased from 8 to 9
3. There will be a Take 2 friend mode. You can play Take 2 for free as much as you want with friends.
It has been released for PC in Japan. However not released here yet. Greenlit on Steam and that version is being worked on and will hopefully be released soon.
Big news though. So they gave away Lucifer awhile back. Well starting today if you complete the tutorial before September 30th, you will get a copy of the other 2 neutral legendaries! Gabriel and Satan!
Gabriel is great in decks that can fill the board, and is a common sight in Mid range swordcraft and Forestcraft. Satan meanwhile is the ultimate control finisher. 10 cost, 6/6 that does nothing on the board. However it replaces your deck with an "Apocalypse deck" that is filled with insane OP cards. Most commonly seen in Havencraft and Dragoncraft.
Oh and Kripparrian has been streaming a lot of Shadowverse lately, and recently released one of his infamous "How good is" vids about it. Take a look if you have the time.
I've been playing since June 18, and have at least 1x copy of every legendary and gold, have 3x of many legends and golds as well. It is much more ftp than ESL or HS. You get so many vial rewards, 3 quests per day, free packs...and packs contain 8 cards instead of 5. Log in bonuses, score rewards, tons of achievements that give you boatloads of gold or free packs, etc.
Just try it out for some time and you'll see how quick you acquire cards, blows ESL or HS away in that regard.
There official twitter announced that Shadowverse will be available on Steam October 26th. Also to celebrate 5 million downloads they are giving away 5 free packs of the new expansion to everybody.
Old news, but the game is out on Steam. I was surprised at how good the port is, it is excellent. You can play at 1440p or whatever you want, the visuals are so much sharper. Audio is much better, with a little work you can get japanese voices and english text if you prefer the original over the dub.
Kripparrian is streaming the game unsponsored cause he loves it so much (he seems to have fallen in love with DS Runecraft which is somewhat like Freeze mage). Reynad is also a big fan.
I've been playing it for a few weeks now and I can confirm Shadowverse is a lot more generous than HS. You get around 40 packs right when you start and Cygames usually gives out stuff for free. And the game has very little RNG.
I'm here to back up the OP. Downloaded SV a few months ago but didn't really get into it cos I was too addicted to HS but recently the RNG in HS is getting to me. I've lost so many games cos Barnes pulled a Rag and it makes me rage so hard....but beyond the RNG factor SV gives you sooooo much more gold and dust. I've been playing for a few hours today and I have made enough gold to buy 4 or 5 packs and play one arena. And on top of that I have been getting free tickets for both packs and arenas during that time. today i have made about 700 gold and 1500 dust. Just for one day worth of playing... If you do all the challenges you also make a tonne more gold and dust... it is a very viable game to play F2P
Right now through the end of the month, take two will give out Darkness Evolved tix as the reward instead of Standard tix. Also a new expansion has been announced to come at the end of next month, hinted in that same interview was that they are thinking of adding more classes.
To celebrate reaching 6 million downloads, everyone is getting 6 free packs of Darkness Evolved. To celebrate one of the MTG pros on the balance/dev team winning his first regional MTG tournament of this year, everyone is getting 7 free standard packs as well.
If anyone wants to help/receive help with private match quest my id is 218810155
Pros: This is actually really really f2p. So far B1 and climbing steadily with just cards found (only crafted 2 legendaries). The legendary card spawn from packs is insanely higher than in HS, that helps a lot. More or less I find at least 1 every 6 packs. Mechanics are quite entertaining and quite skill intensive, more than HS, because there is really little rng. (Even if there is plenty of uninteractive decks, think of Freeze Mage)
Cons: Eugh, anime-girls weaboo "sexy" art. Luckily they are tinkering stuff, giving alternate skin to heroes (most of which are quite good). Swapped Luna for Mordecai as soon as I found out.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Remember playing Control Shaman with Reincarnate shenanigans? No? It was fun, here's a refresher!
The new expansion, Rise of the Bahamut, hits in a few days. December 29th I believe. Everyone will get 10 free packs of Rise of the Bahamut when it lands.
I tried the game out. Seems nice so far, fun game, no obvious balance issues I noticed. Only problem I have with it is the fact that just about every female card is sexualized so much. Other than that though, it's a pretty good game.
Yeah there is definitely a lot of fanservice, which not everyone is into. However underneath that is a deep and balanced game which is as free to play as it gets and has less RNG than just about any other card game.
Speaking of free, they gave another free 5 packs of the expansion on top of the original 10 since maintenance went an hour longer. Also right now you will get 100 rupees for each private match you play, up to 20. That is 2000 rupees right there (20 packs of anything you want). Finally beginning next month they will be giving each player 1100 rupees over the course of a few days just for logging in.

Also Kripp released another themed Shadowverse video, highlighting the main deck he has used in rank.
I cant get the English version in Japan and the Japanese version doesnt have language selection.

Nightblade Argent Lance Flame Imp
