I dont think Guardian Animals is the real culprate otherwise you might see it played in hunter. The real issue is the stupendous card draw provided by Guardian Animals when it pulls Twilight Runner. Druid has always had ramp but it used to leave you without any resources. Now Twilight Runner and Overflow allow for silly card draw and the downside of these cards are often insignificant compared to the mana the opponent is likely to have in response.
I think a better "nerf" would have been to buff Twilight Runner stat wise and and make it cost 6.

So basically, the same problem during the KOFT era, they have the ramp AND the card draw (overflow instead of UI, but the result is the same)
Agree that the Twilight runner should have been nerfed. That card is just too good when pulled from GA. Maybe a nerf of Overgroth would be better than GA? I don t know. I feel like GA is a super strong turn and a tempo spike, but Overgrowth on T4 makes you just in a better position for the rest of the game, bc you can just play Ysera when your opponent is on 5 mana. They also missed the nail on that terribly designed Solarian Prime. It s just the most stupid kind of RNG there is that wrecks you even in a totally winning position.
Tortollan nerf is ridiculous. It's not such a popular deck and just because it beats some decks doesn't mean it needs a destroying nerf.
Druid is going to have more trouble against agro, which is fair. I started playing seriously a bit before the witchwood expansion and I remember how ridiculously op druid was. They don't nerf it enough.
One card that should be nerfed to the ground in my opinion is Secret Passage. Broken card; even after the nerf from drawing 5 to 4 cards.
Not that anyone is running it in, but it is bullshit that the nerf effects hunter just because it's a ridiculous card in druid. I imagine if there ever was a chance of hunter running this card in future expansions that's now gone. It was a druid problem and it was the ramp cards that needed dealing with.

I think you've already stated the reasoning; Hunters just aren't playing the card so they really aren't hurt by the nerf. It's not like if Lightning Bloom was nerfed because both Shamans (what's left of them) and Druids run the card. The nerf would undoubtedly bring Druids back down to earth but it would just be cruel to take away the one useful tool Shaman has at its disposal.
The problem really is the standard set. Innervate can still be mixed with the new cards 6 years after and hunter still uses charge minions that should have rush instead and other powerfull basic cards - after 6 years.
Ramp combo druid is way too strong against their actual nemesis - aggro.
Twilight Runner should also only draw one card since GA already draws two Minions and puts them on the board.
Happy to see Tortollan Mage nerfed to the ground, may this archetype forever rot in hell. On a side note, RIP Living Dragonbreath, your time in the meta is over, and no dust refund either;) And congrats to Sorcerer's Apprentice for escaping yet another round of nerfs...

Tortollan and GA
Well, goodbye Turtle Mage. It was fun while it lasted.
Druid will certainly still run this card and be fine. What's one mana for a class that can have 10 when everyone else is at 5?
A lot when dealin with agro decks.
Aggro before was a bad match and now is a lost cause, the rest remain the same.

Really happy to see these nerfs, no more infinite Tortollan and Guardian Animals on turn 2.
Druid was not overpowered but the highroll potential is too much and you are left with the feeling that whatever you did, it was lose from the start.
I guess we won't see Druid until the next expansion (any chance of token druid maybe?)
why no paladin and shaman buff?
nobody plays them in grandmaster
Paladin got brought by a few GM's past weekend actually. We have front page article with a featured match from Eddie who brought one.
Shaman though, yeah... RIP.
If you see a bad post on the forum use the report function under it, so I or someone else of the moderation team can take care of it!
its a big hit for druid and translates to significant drop in win% (i guess 4% drop in wr)
paladin is not playable
same as shaman

Paladin needs a buff is a joke. GM actually counting towards ladder meta is another joke.
Shaman needs buffs, no Q.

The problem is multiple development cycles have centered around Overgrowth.
So, exactly, that problem needs solving. In addition to GA though.
But ok, keep it, if they HoF'ed Innervate it'd solve enough.
P.S. turtle now only in HL, I approve of That insanity.
