If you're a real Hearthstone veteran.. your favorite classes surely have above 500 wins.
I'm in a situation in which I need some incentive to grind wins, winning a ladder game feels empty since I've had all golden heroes for more than 2 years now. What do you guys think about new boarders at 1000, 1500 and even 2000+ wins per classes ?
I need something like this to keep me interested in grinding wins because nowadays I only do dailies and get bored, having content to grind in a MUST for hardcore gamers.
If not boarders, there could be some stars next to your in game name, maybe add a star every 500 or 1000 ranked wins, that way you can differentiate a player that only has 2000 ranked wins versus the guy with 15000 wins. If you look at a game like Overwatch, it has unlimited levels, you'll never be able to reach the limit, so why is a game like Hearthstone that's supposed to last for 10+ years limited to 500 wins per classes ?
I would, if I'm just casually farming the ladder it kinda feels like I can't play my favourite classes because I should rather play a class in which I don't have the golden portrait yet. I don't know if anyone relates...
Yes they should have a silver, gold, and platinum portrait or something similar to that. 100% agree as a matter of fact this is what I posted in the forum when Dean was asking what will keep HS players from quitting

That's an interesting perspective I didn't realise. If your 2 favorite classes already have 500 wins, you might feel like playing them is a waste of time since there's nothing else to unlock, which would make you feel ''forced'' to play different classes. However, if you gain something else at 1000 and 1500 wins, you can keep playing your favorite class without feeling like you're wasting your time.
In my opinion, there should be no limit in a game like Hearthstone. Give something to the veterans to aspire for.
Completely agree, especially for older players, it should be something dumb like go all the way to 10,000 wins where you can get a rainbow portrait or something wild
I would totally hate it if Blizz added anything past 500. I have 4 golden portraits so far but I am planning on earning all of them eventually. When that happens I will feel good because IT'S DONE. No more ,,I should really play this class because I didnt earn 500 wins on it,, . If there were infinite rewards , or even finite if the ceiling is high enough...I would always feel like I ,,need,, to play my favorite class just because I didn't unlock that next portrait / star or something. And even though I love warlock and it has 1500 wins already I sometimes feel like playing other classes.
It's different in Overwatch because you also earn loot boxes with level ups not just a cosmetic portrait. Maybe they should do that in HS too? Currently max lvl is 60 per class so your max over all lvl is 540. What if you could level each class indefinitely and add some kind of cosmetic rewards on milestones like 600 , 700 etc...Maybe a pack every lvl like in Overwatch to give incentive to play after your daily is complete. That I could get behind because I would contribute to that lvl no matter what class I play.

I feel similar. It feels playing mage on ladder is a waste of time for me, even if it is my favourite class.
i 100% agree on the idea of something else beside 500 wins golden borders and its not because I want to flex on new players with my 5 year old account, it’s just because I want something to work towards in this game after “completing” all the content. I feel like after reaching legend in wild and standard, getting to 12 wins in arena and achieving 500+ wins with each hero there is nothing to do in this game besides grinding, while in games like wow you can always have a new personal achievement to reach (mounts, achievement points, pets eccc..) and the content basically never ends.

Yeah exactly. Once, I basically only played shaman. After earning the golden Protrait, i felt like every ladder match with the class felt like a waste. So i felt a little forced to play other classes. And now, I only play my favorite class in Brawls and VS friends, never on ladder. Of course, it is not Heatrhstone or Blizzard that "force" me to play other classes, it is my ego and the will to unlock all achievements in the form of golden hero portraits. So a very personal and subjective "force".

I felt that way before too, when I didn't have all 9 golden portraits. Eventually I got all 9 and was happy for a while because the grind was over. And here I am bored today because there is nothing to do anymore.
Moral of the story is.. you'll be happy once you're done, however, after a while you'll miss the grind and wished there were new goals to work towards.
You feel like playing your golden classes is a waste of time since you're not done with all of them right ? That's exactly how I feel… with all the classes because they're all above 1300 wins. I feel like I'm wasting my time winning games in constructed because there is literally NOTHING to work towards besides having a high rank, which is completely useless since rank 5 gives you the same thing as high Legend. Winning a game feels completely empty to me, absolutely zero satisfaction.
In my case, i only have golden Rogue, and maybe golden Druid someday, but that's just because those are the classes i like the most.
i don't feel any need to get the other golden portraits, like at all. Nor an extra incentive to play ranked (i actually play it less than i should, and often switch to Casual).
But some extra cosmetics could do no harm ofc. As long as they are not invasive and keep things simple, why not.
I seem to recall hearing a conversation with one of the devs at Blizzcon last year. I'm pretty sure this is going to happen sooner or later, but given how long they've taken with Tournament Mode, who knows how long it will take?
They have to tread lightly on the perks for subsets of players. You see how angry people get when a hero skin is behind a pay wall. And even though your win totals don't involve $, those same folks will find a way to bitch.

Helpful Clarification on Forbidden Topics for Hearthstone Forums:
Enjoying Americans winning in the Olympics is forbidden because it is political. A 14 plus page discussion of state-sponsored lawsuits against a multi-national corporation based on harassment, discrimination, and wrongful death allegations is apparently not political enough to raise an issue.
They said they were planning on making something happen in the last Q&A
Hello, you guys said you were going to work on more achievements past 500 ranked wins because some veterans had nothing left to achieve.
Are you still planning to add new achievements past the 500 wins golden portraits ?
We are. Obviously these are conversations that take place across/between the entire team, but on the art side we’ve been having a lot of chats recently about our part in those and what’ll make for cool rewards.
If they are planning something, and do add something in the future, that means getting wins past 500 right now does mean something... we just don't know what it means yet. So if you already have golden for your favorite class and feel unproductive to play it on ladder, you don't have to feel that way cause you are working your way towards the unannounced rewards.

Right. Nothing's confirmed as of yet though but considering they've been changing a lot of things recently I have hopes.

Not in particular, no. I do not like to flex; if I could use the basic non-animated portraits forever I probably would.
But I am most likely the minority in that regard

As a person who still uses the "basic" cardback, I get exactly where youre coming from!
Sure, that would be great.

I just got 1000 wins and did not get 300 gold. Does anyone know if Blizzard is not giving that reward anymore?
I'm not dead yet!

1000 gold for extra 500 wins will be nice.
I have 5K win with rogue.
