And if so, why? Why are you playing in Unranked and not Ranked?
Well I play a highlander priest in unranked occasionally (mostly ranked.) Also it's not a net deck. It's a deck I made literally the first day of expansion and runs the Quest as well as N'zoth. Super late game greed. So it's certainly has a highlander core as far as spells are concered but entirely different minions other than Raza and Kazakus. It's practically wallet priest in it's dust cost lol, had to dust a lot of stuff to craft it but I love it.
I do it to test the decks. Testing every possible deck that you can gives you better understanding of the game and testing shit in ranked is just plain stupid. This topic is pointless. People bitch about everything now. Hell next thing you know you are gonna start bitching about people who play at certain hours. This topic is top of the iceberg of stupidity. I urge one of the mods to close this nonsense.
Some people like to say "Oh it's to test decks" but as any player worth their salt will tell you, that is just stupid. If you want to test a deck, you take it to a competitive environment where you will be put against hostile conditions, Ranked Mode. Testing in Casual will give you bullshit results that are not at all representative of the results you get playing in Ranked, and will lead you to take wrong conclusions on your deck, leading you to a harsh confrontation with a different reality once you take the deck to Ranked.
So you make a deck and ran it straight into ranked? That's actualy very stupid of you, you should get familiar with the deck. I never take new deck to ranked before i get atleast 5 consecutive wins. It's my own personal rule and it usually works great out for me.
But ignoring everything else what makes your opinion a fact?
Decks have become extremely expensive,3 pack expansions per year is a shit load of grinding. Blame game designers not gamers. Rank mode, rewards in general are absolutely insufficient as well.
To put it very simple, those players are generally not very technically gifted, so they prefer to play in Casual rather than Ranked, because they know they have better odds of winning, obviously because there are more players playing gimmick decks on Casual that these fully optimized competitive decks can prey upon for easy wins.

Either way, these people will never change, nor will they want to accept that this is just fact, so we just have to leave them be. All we can do, is hope that Blizzard at some point in time, removes the Quest and Gold rewards from Casual, so that we can play Casual purely for fun.
...okay, first let me say I am not a big fan of netdecks in casual either. That being said I understand this to be a personal preference and not some sort of feeling based on some imagined superior feeling I have other players, a sentiment you seem to be insinuating here. Also, your argument is simply FULL of holes. They are NETDECKS!!!! People are testing the decks viability, they are simply familarizing themselves with things like how the deck curves out, what personal change they may want to make or simply getting a feel for a class they don't play much. So they are testing the deck, just not testing out whether it's good, it's a netdeck it's obviously is good but that doesn't mean the person playing it knows how to pilot it. This gives them, at least, the basics of how to do that without sacrificing their rank.
All that being said, I am not a fan of it. I don't net deck and even my own creations I take straight to ranked, but I also don't give two hoots about my rank sooooo there is that. Just that I think familiarizing yourself with a deck (testing) is a perfectly legitimate reason to take a net deck to casual. Doesn't make it less annoying for me to have against them but I won't immediately hate the player or begin to think of them in phrases such as "these people".
Lastly, I am wholly for removing the quest and gold rewards from casual.

Of course I take it to Ranked right away, why on earth would I go to Casual? The results I get in Casual are useless. People playing Casual are either completing Quests, playing Gimmick decks, or are not very technically proficient with competitive decks, meaning ANY result I get there, is useless. Once I play in Ranked, the experience is completely different, players will be using proper decks, and they will be playing the decks much more optimally than the ones in Ranked, so I get an accurate representation of the power of my deck.
I do not need to play with "training wheels" for 5 consecutive wins in Casual before I'm familiar with the deck, I made the deck, so I know it's strategy, all I need to do is gain experience with the deck, and to get experience, I play in Ranked where I play against a competitive environment with hostile conditions, that is the only way to get relevant experience with a deck.
Like I said above, some people will never want to accept this fact, they will use whatever excuse makes them feel better, and if that is what makes you feel better or confident, good for you. But it's still a fact. Why do you think you never see a Pro player playing Casual? Why do they always jump straight into Ranked right after creating a deck? If you don't want to believe me alone, do you think every Pro player in this game is just stupid and doesn't go test in Casual like if their results were relevant? No. They know the results are completely irrelevant, so they go straight to Ranked.
It's really not a fact, it's an opinion. Just because you say it is doesn't make it fact.
Tbh I'm one of those ppl, who likes to playtest a deck in casual, right after I build it, just to "feel" the deck better. Aka to get the hang of it.
But something, which I don't like about casual hs, is that it's way too mixed. Sometimes I want to play fun decks, I want to experiment with some cards, I want to practice with certain decks... but I don't get the MU I want to have. If I try to play serious there, I often end up playing against fun decks or newer players or sometimes just randomly built ones (quest). Not to mention the experience is not pleasant as well, if I want to screw around and to abuse some fun mechanics. So imho the thing, which is missing, are the filters in the menu. If we had them, we could set our own rules: - fun decks only - lf tournament partner - ranked practice partner ...
So diamond has a point by stating, that people can't get proper training in casual, because the environment is different there. Imho I just think, if we had some kind of filters, this would please a lot of players.

Oh and what makes it a fact? Just make a deck, play 200 games in Casual and 200 in Ranked, and compare the Winrates. But do it by interchanging. 1 Game in Casual followed by 1 in Ranked, and keep track of everything. The results should make it very obvious for you.
Okay so you are extremly confident into your own deck and that's fine but you know what they say overconfidence is a slow and insidious killer. I prefer to test my own decks and many people that i personally know are like this and that doesn't make them any worse or better than you. Don't be pretenious and call them "not very technically proficient with competitive decks".
And your opinion is still not a fact. Just because you think so it doesn't have to be like that. Facts are facts not opinions. Learn the difference. Let me tell you why you are wrong. You make mistakes in unranked so you don't make them again in ranked. That's why i have that 5 wins rule, usually games get decided because of one single mistake, especially in mirror matches. Hell i've lost and won many games just because of a dumb mistake. That's why you test shit so you don't make mistakes again, to improve, evolve.
And please don't hide behind arguement "Some people will just not accept my made up facts hurp durp" it makes you sound silly.

I agree you can't get complete and proper training in casual, I do believe however you can get an initial feel for the deck. Again though I personally don't care enough about my rank to bother with practicing in casual. If I take a deck to casual it's cause I created it (didn't net deck it) know it's a casual fun deck and that is generally where I WANT to play the deck.
Anyone here play common netdecks in Unranked?
And if so, why? Why are you playing in Unranked and not Ranked?
It's super annoying, I agree.
You should be able to complete quests only in ranked.
Because i want, and because i can.

Hearthpwn Community: Casual is full of netdecks. Why is everybody playing their tier 1 tournament-quality netdecks in casual???
Also Hearthpwn Community: Practicing decks in casual doesn't count because casual doesn't reflect the meta. XD

The question that I think begs to be asked just as badly is; "Why should casual play only be about playing daily quest-based, or meme decks?"
Before you say for fun keep in mind that many people like playing some of the commonly seen decks.
Too mutch salt on my popcorn....
