HS is neither "Free to play", nor "Pay to win". Money doesn't give you unfair benefits (You can reach legend almost ftp). Money gives you variety = fun (But you can be rank 20 with full collection).
You whiners should really get a job. If you put considerable time into something and have fun with it, how can you even expect it to be free?
yes I also totally agree !
never had a problem to splash like 100-150€ for packs if an expansion hits. got like 5000 gold for packs in addition, so I can play whatever I want on first day of expansion - no regrets.
I came to page 3 to write, well basically, exactly this.
Well said, so true. Stop whining, earn some money and pay for packs if you like the game so much.
This game without F2P players is doomed to extinction.
LOL, keep telling yourself that if it makes you feel better, but no, it's not. There are more than enough paid players to keep matchmaking viable 24/7.

Little bit of an exaggeration there, or what? Anyone who spends more than $200 in a year (even with the new number of sets) is either a tournament player or collector who has to have every card in the set.
Anyone that really wants to can earn at least 10 free packs a week and enough dust to craft a new legendary every couple of weeks, so with 4 months to work with there isn't any reason why a FTP can't have most of the set. They just won't be able to stockpile a huge amount of gold to spend on the new set on release day, and might actually buy the pre-order pack instead, which is what Blizzard needs players to do if they want to have the money to run the business and keep developing new content. Something most of you FTP don't seem to get is that there is no such thing as free-everything has a cost, whether you're the one paying it or not, and if you aren't spending anything to help support the game then you have no right to complain about anything.
I have a question. They wanted to merge Adventures and Expansion by adding a single player campaign to each Expansion. Do we know the reward structure? They just said, that all cards will be obtained by packs. But maybe we get a lot/some packs (Like they did with WoG (13 Packs) and MSoG (11 Packs? I dont know). So thats a nice boost if this may be a bit more in these "single-player campaigns". Also we get these daily log-in rewards.
If this game is going to be worse or better for f2p depends largly on these "extras" we get as rewards.
I believe we are getting tons of free to play content this year, they have already asked us about a campaing and going away from adventures may seem they want to roll that content in a different way for everyone and give lots of free stuff as well as having tons of pay packs a year.
F2P isn't that hard as well, I wanted to try F2P for Gadgetzan and it was fun to have new cards every now and then and now I have almost the playable legendaries for that set. I don't even play that much, mainly do quests and tavern free pack a and it was easy.
The game is free to play, not free to have everything. Blizzard is a company and companies exist to make money. They love to have the F2P players, but those players don't keep them in business at the end of the day. You can reasonably play Hearthstone without spending a dime and still have a decent collection and be able to build a variety of decks. If you are expecting you should have more than that without spending any money you're delusional and overly entitled.
Pretty much the same for me. Spent some money for adventures then managed to survive completely f2p. And by "survive" I mean that I have all the good cards from each expansion, 1x Legendary and 2x for the rest.
I don't even play that much, just doing dailies and brawls. Used to play a lot more before WotOG, my playing time dropped during the Yogg-meta and all the Pirates didn't improve it for me.
People only seem to understand that "you must pay if you want more content", " free to play but not free to have everything" and so on;I DO NOT DISAGREE! But they tend to forget that F2p players and players who only bought adventures make the majority of the community or the player base, and blizzard needs to keep them "satisfied" not make their condition worse; because if they start leaving, it will be the beginning of the decline of hearthstone. Hearthstone is what it is today because of the combination of both paying players and free to play players; Team 5 must protect the balance.
Um if anything it supports f2p players, you get dust equal to cost of the cards rotated out of classic they may return them at some point but I don't know and if they don't ever then dusting them on top of the free dust is pretty good for f2p. F2p hates the current meta anyway no deck is good without at least 2 legendaries any change will be good in my opinion including getting around 3200 dust for free

Just fill your deck with one drops, that is creative deck design, right?
Adventures normally costed about 3500g which is 35 packs....That 3500 gold got you the 40 cards that were in an adventure...With expansions you will receive more then 40 cards with 35 packs, therefore it's a improvement.

The problem is the reward structure for Constructed is under-rewarding and a complete mess. If you're a good Arena player you can be F2P easily like myself...I've gotten thousands of packs from Arena, plus all the gold and card rewards on top. It's only hard being f2p if your a bad player.

If you're a donator, what are you even doing in this topic?
Not everyone like to pay $1000 per year for bad card game.
