I had three ideas for this event, and I'm in doubt which one is the most "balanced" and the most interesting. > First card, a Rogue weapon that has the potential for more Rogue control. I thought of putting it as cost 8, but I remembered that Battlecry and Deathrattle are effects of RNG. > Second card, Kel'thuzad ... Legendary wizard card, securing Spell Damage +2 and may have two spells already played in the game. > And finally, the third card, A Paladin Dragon, may even save the paladin's life with his lifesteal. I know these are simple ideas but I would like feedback because I don't know which one to bet for the competition hahhaa ...
Tried to stay relatively close to the source material while keeping it inline with Hearthstone flavour and power levels (Bridge Keeper is super swingy, but given that he's negative half the time and has below-par stats for a 7 drop he's definitely a meme card more than something broken).
Knight Who Says Mrgl: It was originally called Holyfin Crussader, but everyone was doing Monty Python references and I wanted to be popular too. I was thinking to make it a legendary (and increase the number of Murlocs it Recruits), but it felt too similar to Tip the Scales
Hope: Not sure if this counts, as it technically has a token, even though it's not necessary to show it.
Pyramid Protector: Two Righteous Protectors in one. Super annoying to deal with.
Prince Yuk'tan: I have always liked the idea of giving your hero Divine Shield. Not much to add.
I Love Ogres ! Here I wanted to use these 3 unofficial keywords and tried to find a coherent theme to merge them together (let me know if their is an appropriate Monty Python reference). For those who don't know, Elusive = "Can't be targeted by spells or Hero Powers", Cleave = "Also damages to minions next to whomever it attacks" and Clumsy = "50% chance to attack the wrong target". I think it's on the strong side, even with the low stats, but Clumsy makes it fairly inconsistant and Elusive means it can't be buffed with spells so idk it seems fine to me. Let me know what you think !
My idea for this week's theme. I am really having a hard time balancing it. On one hand, you have to use one precious slot for a minion with bad stats, you have to build a deck around it, plus the overkill cards are generally not popular. But on the other hand, giving them lifesteal seems a little bit overpowered.
I also have another idea in mind but since I am still working on balancing, I decide not to post it right away.
Ok I gave it a once over and I've split into a few options one debuffs your own minions before buffing them so more agro based, one debuffs all minions then buffs your own for more midranged play, and one deals damage like Abyssal Enforcer then buffs your board for more of a control/refill board kinda card. which one do you guys like I kinda like the one that debuffs all minions but i get health debuffs are kind of awkward to do.
As per usual I only do the page I'm on, cause even that takes awhile. It's in reverse order because that's just how I'm scrollin'.
@Twistertiger I like the final Revenant, and I think you can order the reborn and Deathrattle like that fine.
@Danjo The flavor's there, but it's not worth the cost and it's using a Druid keyword. At the moment, I'd say you wouldn't want a specific destroy effect for anything more than 5 mana, and even then it doesn't matter with rush because it's already gotten it's value. With a self-damage effect, I feel like this current concept could be 6 mana. As for the Hand Grenade, smack all those keywords together with commas. I think the twinspell/echo thing just gives you too much boardclear for a non-boardclear class.
@Adamaxes See I like the flavor here given the idea of Rastakhan. The issue is there's no real downside, so it's far too consistent (That's more of a facet of it being start of game). I'd recommend instead of start of game, that this card is drawn when an overkill minion actually overkills something.
@Klipce Unfortunately it's gotta be official keywords. If you want a flavor that's similar, try the Three-headed Knight.
@Wailor First off, gotta love Paladin cards. Mrgl is good, I think it works correctly. We knocked out tokens because tokens are janky. Pyramid Protector could probably be 3 mana (And doesn't need periods). Yuk'tan may even be able to reach 3/6.
@Hereharehere Looks very solid, I appreciate the triple keyword memes. I think it could even reach 3/4, because nothing jumps out to me as a broken combo.
@Mugen8 Unfortunately the first one hits 4 keywords, though I love the flavor. Given previous examples you don't have to specify that it doesn't get added to your hand. I'd say it'd be best to crank the cost and stats down to like 2-3 mana.
@CoinPlant This looks real solid, I'd almost say that you could swap it to a deathrattle, though that's a personal choice, both have benefits.
@CovetousJ Not Dead Yet! Looks great. The rabbit reminds me a lot of Colossus of the Moon. Keeper of the Bridge... does... nothing? I think it would make more sense if it interacted with your quest. Currently there are no discovers that can't discover more than 2 cards with it's generic pool.
@Shatterstar These are absolutely excellent. I think they're both solid cards, but you'll need to reword the combo, right now it isn't clear if this card or the generated cards cost less.
@Deravcc Apothecary's fang seems fairly balanced, but I can't shake the fear it's a bit too much value. Kel'thuzad seems balanced, but still too weak. The dragon should have baseline 1 attack.
All around good cards, and a lot of solid flavor cards! Keep it up y'all
thanks for the review. Yeah, I wasn't sure about the strength of the effect so started with legendary and everything but the text is basically a place holder. I agree with the epic rarity and that it sure would make for interesting synergies :D.
It's a bit cryptic so here's a description of how it works.
It basically makes your Deathrattle minions collect Deathrattles and pass them on:
If this dies and gives Sylvanas its Deathrattle, Sylvanas will then give ,say, Carn Bloodhoof its and the Death Collectors Deathrattles > then Carn Bloodhoof, when it dies, will pass its own, the Sylvanas and Death Collector Deathrattles to the next random Deathrattle minion on the battlefield etc.
(Damn, I just saw the Monty Python efforts... haha, well obviously, ''I feel happiee... I feel happieeee!'') ((should really be ''Bring out your dead... bring out yr dead'')
Reviews:
@Coveteous, I love the flavour of the Rabbit and the Keeper. The keeper is perfect, the Rabbit i'd consider giving it rush too, it just seems apt :D, and i don't see it being over powered with it (can we put 4 key words?). Oh actually, not dead yet is hilarious aswell, maybe it's the best! I'd vote for them all, couldn't choose.
Solid. Does require you to have secret to *stick* on board, which is not always easy for Paladin. Most of your secrets get procced immediately. I'd say this should be a 3/4 because of that.
Looks more like a Spirit Healer than an elemental. I think this is honestly fine. A 4 mana 5/1 Rush is vanilla stats (Steel Rager) so anything extra is a bonus.
See above opening comments about images. See above opening comments about 5 lines of text. We also don't allow straight-up joke submissions. You also did not read the rules; you may not make tokens. (Except for a Hero card).
Hmmmm. I'd say this is ok. Similar in power level to Grizzled Guardian, honestly but you do have that Twinspell. Not sure what's worth pulling out of your deck in in the current Standard meta, off the top of my head, though.
A little nervous about Sudden Twister... I don't remember if you get Sidequests in your opening hand and if you did, this is basically a guaranteed Bloodlust. Too much consistency, too much pressure for your opponent, I'd say.
While simple, this is a deceptively decent card. It's a 2/5 in stats, even if the stat spread is the greatest. However, while I personally like this card, voters might not. They may think it's too plain.
Xal'atath is a nice one! 2/2 instead of 3/2, I'd say.
Uhhhh the Dreadblade is nuts. Don't enter this one in its current state. This is like 7 mana's worth. 2/3 weapon = 2.5 mana, envenom weapon effect = 3 mana, add a legendary card = 1 mana, combo draw 2 = 1.5-2 mana.
how something like this? Unsure on balance but obvious play on Stormwind Champion.
Hmm. Well, I'd first put "Reborn" at the very top. As for the card itself... 7 mana 6/4 with that initial effect is rather weak. How about:"Reborn. Battlecry and Deathrattle: Give enemy minions -1/-1. Give all other friendly minions +1/+1." That way, you get a boost immediately for spending so much mana.
At 7 mana, this card is probably fine. But Control Rogue will probably never be a thing. :/
Kel'Thuzad is very slow for what he does. Having Spell Damage on a card that expensive is completely pointless, btw. You'll never be able to combo off with it. You either need to go huge (Malygos) or have an extra proactive effect (Azure Drake) on expensive Spell Damage minions.
This is a card that is almost word-for-word the same as a card in Shadowverse. However, the Shadowverse card had Charge and started off at 2 mana. No Lifesteal. Max health in that game is 20. That should give you a rough idea where to balance this.
Drakonid Cultist is used to curve into Galakrond and Invoke it.
Wax Explorer is the Explorer cycle for Rogue. Mechanic distinguish it from the other Explorers is the Combo part.
Drakonid Cultist is actually fairly strong for a Invoke card. I don't know how to feel about that or how to balance it seeing as DoD isn't out yet.
However, Wax Explorer is interesting... 5 mana, 2/3, draw 3 (random, but usually good) cards. Hmmm. It ain't Omega Assembly, but its strong. I like this one.
Not Dead Yet! -- For stickiness and value. Probably undercosted at 6...perhaps should be 7 or 8?
Killer Rabbit -- Because we don't see Mega-Windfury and Immune too often.
Keeper of the Bridge -- Admittedly not very useful, but..."What is your quest?"
Don't forget to host your images on imgur.
First card. Way, way overcosted. 3 mana. Ancestral Spirit + Embalming Ritual, both cards saw no play, so there is no reason to increase the mana even though you combined two cards into one.
The rabbit... hmm. I currently cannot think of anything broken. But, it *is* a beast and Tundra Rhino *is* thing... Would be interesting to submit.
It's rather solid! Is greatly overshadowed by Dr. Boom, sadly. You're off to a great start with making cards, however. It's best to start off making fundamentally solid cards.
So, by itself, it's useless, but after just one deathrattle on it... You get infinite deathrattles? So... Ancestral Spirit this and it's broken?
My idea for this week's theme. I am really having a hard time balancing it. He should have better stats, 4 mana 3/4 Taunt, maybe. Effect is rather niche. But honestly, running a few of the neutral Overkill minions if they had Lifesteal is excellent. 4 mana 3/5 Lifesteal and Overkill: Gain 3 Armor is a huge roadblock for aggro, just as an example.
So, by itself, it's useless, but after just one deathrattle on it... You get infinite deathrattles? So... Ancestral Spirit this and it's broken
@ Mcfartson. Thanks for the review. It's a good point on Ancestral Spirit and one that did occur to me. On its own it's not a prob - Ancestral spirit would pass onto a different Deathrattle minion, but the resummoned minion wouldn't have the stack of deathrattles or Ancestral Spirit so it would be fine. Though then I had it as a legendary and hadn't considered having two on board, and, since i made it epic... mind starting to melt...
Adamaxes: that's a nice enhancement to the overkill keyword, thematic and not too op for a start of game effect at first glance. Only downside I see is the non reprinting of Over Kill cards, but in a vacuum I like it.
@ Zany. I like the side quest idea but I'm not sure if the spell/damage element fits the quest theme... why not the sidekick/adventure party connection? I would open up the theme naturally...oh and the holy grail aspect would be perfect!

First time designing a card, thought i'd go pretty basic. Lemme know what yall think!
Here's a pair that I think fit the theme nicely.
Tried to stay relatively close to the source material while keeping it inline with Hearthstone flavour and power levels (Bridge Keeper is super swingy, but given that he's negative half the time and has below-par stats for a 7 drop he's definitely a meme card more than something broken).
Hi all,
will give some feed back in a bit, but wondering about the implications of this in terms of balance, combos etc. Stats and all are placeholders
Here are my cards. All of them are Paladin :)
I'll feedback stuff in a while.
"They can't see you if you can't see them."
I Love Ogres ! Here I wanted to use these 3 unofficial keywords and tried to find a coherent theme to merge them together (let me know if their is an appropriate Monty Python reference). Cool card, overall; one of the best so far.
Power level is alright IMO, given it requires you to have Secrets in play.
Flavor is a bit meh, but I can't really think of a better one.
Pretty okay card. Seems balanced, but I have not much to say.
Flavor matches the effect perfectly. That said, it's incredibly OP and unfun to play against.
It techically has five keywords... I think? I don't know, mods should say if this is okay.
Not a fan of mixing keywords from different expansions.
I prefer the Sidequest. Not sure if people will like the reward, though.
Again, I don't like that it mixes exclusive keywords from different expansions.
That said, the combination is interesting. Might be more fitting as a legendary, IMO.
Golem of Theseus is the coolest one... even if it uses Adapt in Boomsday, which is kinda forbidden.
Xal'atath is OP as heck. It's also very similar to a card that won last season.
The Dreadblade feels like a bunch of effects together.
I'd try with another idea.
Wording is a bit unorthodox: it's not "all other minions get -1/-1", but "Give all other minions -1/-1".
Card is alright, but Health debuffs are a bit weird.
I guess new Kel'thuzad is the best one of the bunch.
Drakonoid Cultist is my favourite, but it seems kinda OP.
All cards are cool.
Not Dead Yet! is cool, Twinspell doesn't really fit the card... but then it couldn't participate.
Killer Rabbit of Caernnabogg is a very iconic reference and it will get upvotes for sure.
Keeper of the Bridge has a nice flavor, but it's not very interesting in terms of gameplay. Probably the weakest of the three.
I must say I really like the card. Even if it's simple, it's one of my favourites so far.
You probably want to make a couple style corrections:
I guess I didn't vote for you is better, but such a specific removal might be a bit weak.
Strange effect, albeit an interesting one.
I'd change the name (it sounds weird) and would make it an Epic (requires too much synergy to be a Legendary).
The effect doesn't fit the flavor. 1 AoE is too weak for such a powerful artifact, and the keywords it has don't match either.
My idea for this week's theme. I am really having a hard time balancing it. On one hand, you have to use one precious slot for a minion with bad stats, you have to build a deck around it, plus the overkill cards are generally not popular. Tried my hand at a minion, weapon and spell. Reviews coming next.
I wanted to mess around with underutilized concepts, hence Secretly, for 1 turn, and interactions with Quests/Sidequests.

Right. Here are a few general pointers:
Solid. Does require you to have secret to *stick* on board, which is not always easy for Paladin. Most of your secrets get procced immediately. I'd say this should be a 3/4 because of that.

Druid minion is nice, however. I'd give it 2/2.
While simple, this is a deceptively decent card. It's a 2/5 in stats, even if the stat spread is the greatest. However, while I personally like this card, voters might not. They may think it's too plain.
Bloated Abomination is... really strong. Would be a serious contender for Warpath's deck slot, even even before it rotates.
I don't get your second card. Is it when you magnetize, you adapt? If so, you need to fully say that on the card.
Paladin card is awful. Discover a card is 1 mana. Giving it Divine Shield and Taunt is like 1.5 mana, maximum. Should be 2 mana.

Why not just change him to discover a Sidequest?
It's rather solid! Is greatly overshadowed by Dr. Boom, sadly. You're off to a great start with making cards, however. It's best to start off making fundamentally solid cards.
Rogue card is extremely situational. I don't know how to change it to make it more effective, to be honest.
Bridge Keeper. Don't go over 4 lines. Yeah, as you pointed out, it's a meme card. I mean... I can't really give much feedback on this.
So, by itself, it's useless, but after just one deathrattle on it... You get infinite deathrattles? So... Ancestral Spirit this and it's broken?
Mrgl Knight is fine and balanced in a vacuum. But with how Murloc Paladin plays, this is far too slow.
...Yeaaahhh no tokens. Sorry.
Pyramid Protector should be 3 mana. Imo, you overvalued the concept of sticking two Righteous Protectors together.
Prince is great. 4/4 if you want him to be more consistent, but 3/5 is fine too.
See my opening remark about low-effort images.
Balance wise, it's weird. Echo + Twinspell should probably never be together.
I didn't think it was necessary to mention... but you can't use fanmade keywords.

I'm guessing this is your first, or one of your first, fan-created cards. Welcome aboard.
Destroying a Legendary minion with Rush is extremely niche. You can just destroy a legendary minion. Or, just any Rush minion.
Secondly, you can't use Choose One on a warrior card.
@ Mcfartson. Thanks for the review. It's a good point on Ancestral Spirit and one that did occur to me.
