Sarsarun is a servant of Al'Akir. He is powerful, but reckless; enough to let your opponent see right into your plans. His see-through body and his inability to keep a
secret
is why they call him
Sarsaraun the Transparent
.
An early drop that can't be in your starting hand and punishes you for trying to draw it by having you wait a turn.
That's crippling enough, right? I hope so :P I don't like making bad cards, so the clarified theme was a bit rough for me.
After much deliberation around this card finally came to it's final incarnation; heavy punish to self but is an extreme board presence to remove big threats/lethal
Flavor -
He just doesn't seem to play well with others.
The detriment is that either you play a deck with only cards that cost (5) or more and you lose the early game every time; or you play a normal-curved deck but hope that cards in your starting hand cost (5) or more and you top-deck some early game cards (but risk losing early game as well; and if it fails, this is an unplayable 5mana 1/5 weapon). Saving grace is from cards like
Brawl
and perhaps armoring up to survive the first 4 turns.
Double-edged removal. Obviously it sucks against Mage and Hunter but, in some matchups from other classes, you can hide behind
taunt
minions to avoid being pinged thus making it a 1-mana removal. It can also be used on your own minions to trigger deathrattles, in which case your opponent SHOULDN'T damage you! Like
Naturalize
, it's very situational but it's the theme of this comp.
Obviously damage to armor counts as damage.
Inspired by the Devour ability of Kodo Beasts & dragons from Warcraft 3.
It works just as the cannons in Monster Hunt, but he deals and receives damage. So if there is 1 minion in front of him, he attacks that one if there are 2 minions (and he is in the middle) he attacks both, if there is no minion he attacks the enemy hero.
PS. Thanks Kovachut for helping me out with wording.
My card this week encourages you to attack your own minions. The Booterang is an item in WoW used to 'motivate' lazy, useless peons into actually getting any work done. This card is used to motivate your angry bois against your opponent. The armor gain from the weapon helps offset the backlash from your increasingly angry bois. It's a silly weapon that could work well in certain decks. However, you are attacking your own minions instead of your opponent's, which is a pretty big detriment.
Could be catastrophic if your opponent runs
silence
cards or if for whatever reason you can't deal with the minions. But it could also be a great board clear!
