Works as an early game minion for at least 2 Armour, but does well with hand buffing from the Grimy Goons and could end up as a very viable late-game Control Warrior card.
or or • Randomly distribute the amount of Mana spent to the Attack or Durability of the Weapon. • Note that the 1st point always goes to Durability. (Forging a 0/1 Forbidden Weapon can be combo with Weapon Upgrades like Upgrade!, Bloodsail Cultist and Naga Corsair) • Playing Forbidden Forging when you have 0 mana do nothing but immediately destroy the Weapon you currently equipped with. (May combo with Death's Bite in Wild Format to summon more Grim Patron) "Everyone, get in here!"
Balance Discussion:
Possible List of Weapons 0 Mana - 0/0 1 Mana - 0/1 2 Mana - 0/2 or 1/1 3 Mana - 0/3 or 1/2 or 2/1 4 Mana - 0/4 or 1/3 or 2/2 or 3/1 .................................................................. 10 Mana - 0/10, 1/9, 2/8, 3/7, 4/6, 5/5, 6/4, 7/3, 8/2 or 9/1
The best outcome of spending 10 Mana to forge the Forbidden Weapon is getting a 5/5 Forbidden Weapon which gives you 5x5=25 damage, which is very overpowered at its fist glance. But, do take note that this is a Weapon, and the value of Weapons in Hearthstone is defined in a very unique way. So, to figure it out, I took the approach of the following formula: Cost=(Attack X Durability)/2 E.g: Arcanite Reaper: (5) mana for → (5x2)/2 = 5 : Legit Truesilver Champion: (4) mana for → (4x2)/2 = 4 : Plus its minor healing effect as a class card bonus.) Fiery War Axe: (2) mana for → (3x2)/2 = 3 : That's why its an OP class card that is played in every Warrior Deck.)
Thus, the maximum value that Forbidden Forging can generate is forging a 5/5 Forbidden Weapon. (10) mana for → (5x5/2=12.5) value, compare to Pyroblast which is a spell that can bypass Taunt and empowered by Spell Power, I would say the numbers are quite alright. ;)
Now, imagine the opponent Control Warrior plays this on turn 10 and gets a 0/10 Weapon. "I CHOOSE DEATH!"
The flavor is that there are some hunters that don't play by the rules and when dead, they drop their weapons.
Oh well, nevermind that.
Give Hunter more weapons!
For a moment I've thought about making this a 1- mana drop but generating a card which u can play 1-2 turns later(if played on turn one) and usually gain value of should be priced a bit higher. Good luck to all the competitors.
