This is the Discussion Topic. The Submission Topic will go up in 12 hours.
Competition Theme: A Shocking Revelation!
This weeks theme comes from Elysie, whose "Moonkin Form" was the winner of our "Spelling Bee" competition.
Competition-Specific Restrictions:
Your card must reveal one or more cards from a player's hand or deck and have some interaction with or effect based on the card(s) revealed.
Your card may not reveal cards from both hands or decks. That's too similar to jousting, which we have already centered a past competition theme around.
Competition Process
Preview Phase (Starts Now! Ends 19:00 UTC 15/September/2016) During this Phase, the Discussion Topic is made available, previewing this week's competition theme. Discussion Topic Rules
To make sure that everything runs smoothly, we need to reserve the Submission Topic for submissions only. Everything else goes here. What is everything else, you might ask?
Rules or Process. Do you have a question about the competition's process? Do you need clarification about one of the entry requirements? Are you not sure whether your entry adhered to the rules? Ask here!
Feedback or Ideas. Do you have some ideas you'd like to run by others before settling on one? Do you need help balancing or wording your entry? Do you need help finding art that will fit your card? Or do you just want feedback from the community on your entry? You're in the right place! Remember, although you are allowed to make minor tweaks to your entry after you've submitted it, you're only allowed one submission per week, so make sure that you've settled on your card for sure beforehand.
Discussion! Do you have thoughts on other people's entries? Are there directions you don't like that you're seeing too many people take? Or directions you'd like to see more people take? Would you like to help others and contribute to a greater community understanding of Hearthstone card design and balance? This is where you want to be!
All of that said, please refrain from the following:
Posting TONS of Ideas. Discussion topics become an absolute mess if everybody is posting a dozen different ideas. Please post not more than 3 distinct ideas at a time. Any more than that and we'll have to delete your post.
Advertising Your Entry. Please don't pop in here just to advertise your entry only to never be heard from again. This includes only asking short, generic, or insincere questions like "Thoughts?" or "Do you think this is interesting?". Yes, getting feedback on your entry is one of the purposes of this topic, but we're not just here for other people to help you. We're here for you all to help each other. 12 hours after this competition begins, there should be plenty of other posts here for you to give specific feedback or for you to comment on a trend. If you post your entry for feedback after this time and do not also offer some form of substantial commentary, critique, or praise of others' work, you may find your post deleted.
Plagiarism. Many people post their ideas here before finalizing them in the submission topic. Directly plagiarizing those ideas to post in the submission topic yourself is absolutely not acceptable.
So, without further ado, have fun and get creating!
Your card may not reveal cards from both hands or decks. That's too similar to jousting, which we have already centered a past competition theme around.
But jousting is only about revealing a card in your deck only, so joust effect technically qualifies.
Also, do "when you draw this" effect qualifies ? The card must be revealed so technically this qualifies too.
So its just a 1/1 that adds to you a copy of an opponent class card, similarly to Burgle and effective in decks that interact with other classes cards, some thoughts or feedback?
I like the concept of a pseudo-Malorne effect that makes the card semi-perpetual by "reshuffling" into your deck by replacing a different one. Not yet sure if this is the best application of the idea though...
Basically, it's a card that sits on the bottom of your deck, allowing you to more easily hit combos. It's also an efficient, big threat for Fatigue decks to throw at their opponent's when they outlast them. But your opponent knows it's there as soon as the game starts.
With this idea, I'm trying to get a Control card for Rogue that has synergies in the class and a flavor similar to Headcrack.
I'd like your opinion on a few things :
Is the text clear enough ?
The wording: I'm not sure about "Mana Cost". Maybe "if it costs (4) or more" is more appropriate ?
Should it be " to your hand at the end of your turn" ? I'm afraid of Gadgetzan combo ... But the goal is also to ensure the heal
Cost 2 : I hesitated with 3 instead.
Yep, the thing of wording of "If it costs (4) or more" its appropiate.
Doesn´t matter the Gadgetzan combo, if you dont get it, it does do nothing, so just spending 2 mana for nothing.
idk, maybe it should cost 1, it can heal very low health and just revealing isn´t just marvelous, but I like the concept.
Would you review also my idea for the submission? I would love a bit of feedback (Since I know its gonna be ignored, I know) PD: Its of the 2nd comment, the Planar Scout
This minion in meant to somewhat counter aggro. The stats seem extreme, but when you encounter a Control Deck with Ysera it's 3 Mana "Do nothing" and even when you hit something with 4 Health like Imp Gang Boss Aggro Decks can still deal with it.
Also, the text seems pretty long, but I have no idea how to make it shorter.
Should cost 4-5 mana, for 3 mana, an imprenetable wall is too much, even more if you can silence it (A 10/10 is painfull), and even more, making it a class specific card, like Rogue, would be better.
PD: I know their stats are reduced, but its just too much if you get a 9/9 or something like that.

Actually, it returns to your hand. Immediately. So you can cycle at least twice or more with Prep'.
I know, well, maybe you are true, but by itself seems a bit UP.
You should seek a bit my suggestion I did for your card, reducting its cost would make not too much a "loss"
This just might be a little too strong, I dunno. I like the flavor though.
1st, double posted, errors happen, so no worry.
Seems a bit UP for be a class card, a 2/1 or 1/2 would be fine (Although seems very similar of mine, but doesn´t matters.
Its nice the concept
Sorry for the double post, my connection's pretty laggy right now. Maybe it could be a 1/2; I think of it like some sort of Novice Engineer, but this way we do not take into account about the strategical advantage it gives you by revealing three cards in the enemy's hand.
Just saw your card, it's nice. This one's a very old design of mine, I scrapped it from my thread like two or three months ago, it's within a spoiler in one of the oldest replies. The two concepts are not particularly mind-blowing or innovative, one could expect more than one people to have similar ideas like these. For example, the Moonkin Form that won the last competition (or maybe the one before it, I can't remember) was almost the same as one I had made and scrapped in my thread aswell.
Alternatively, there's also this one, but I'm not sure it fits the theme. Does the card need to be revealed to both players? Or do effects like this and Tracking also count? After all, you're revealing something from your deck and manipulating your draws.
So its just a 1/1 that adds to you a copy of an opponent class card, similarly to Burgle and effective in decks that interact with other classes cards, some thoughts or feedback?
PD: Should be this rare?
If compared to Mind Vision, it's really balanced.
Priest steals in the hand/deck, Rogue in all the class cards. You found a cute way for Rogue to steal in hand, in respect of that mechanic.
I would make 2 sentences in the wording : "... 's hand. If it's a class card, .... "
Thanks mate, I am gonna modify it, additionaly to changing its rarity to rare.
This just might be a little too strong, I dunno. I like the flavor though.

Nope it doesn´t fits, because it doesn´t reveals it to your opponent, if you do that yes, and maybe be very interesting card.
It must be revealed to both players, not like Tracking or this.
Question for the mods: how specific do you need to be in revealing the card? Could I make a Servant of Yogg-Saron type card that casts a spell from my deck and have that be enough, or would I have to literally reveal the card first? Both players see the card and effect with a Yogg, but technically it's only a copy, the card itself isn't being revealed.
So its just a 1/1 that adds to you a copy of an opponent class card, similarly to Burgle and effective in decks that interact with other classes cards, some thoughts or feedback?

After the the minion is revealed it remains in your opponent's deck. You both know that one of their minions has been "turned." If they have two of the same minion it could lead them to mistrust one that isn't going to damage them or place their trust in one that will. It is supposed to play a bit of a mind game with the opponent as knowing you had a mole would. What do you think?

Do you draw the new Fang of Stranglethorn or shuffle it into your deck?

Will this work? More heal for the holy light.
I feel it's a move you only do when you are so desperate against tempo?
