I was super looking forward to this theme, because I love breaking class boundaries. I was the guy that came up with the (admittedly less-than-unsuccessful) Not-So-Secret theme, after all. I finally narrow down my ideas to the top 3:
And although I feel like Solstice would be the most popular, I decided that I like From Valhalla better thematically, so to hell with it. =)
I am in general super happy with a lot of what's come from this week. My favorite entries, though, are the ones that have taken this opportunity blend elements that would otherwise be impossible. For example, we'll probably never see a real Weapon or Secret card with Choose One because Choose One is Druid-exclusive, and Druids aren't a Weapon or Secret class.
At the same time, though, I think the real challenge this week, with it being so incredibly open mechanically (I mean, think about it, the restrictions this week are actually to unrestrict you from the restrictions in the game!), is actually going to be on the thematic side. What fits together and still make the most sense thematically or feels thematically clever? And I do stress clever, because Priest cards with Divine Shield and Warlock cards that possess enemy minions are too thematically straightforward, I think, to feel like they're really taking advantage of this week's theme.
you have the instructions in the spoilers on the first page of the submission topic - you click on the icon Insert/edit image (5th from the end), then paste the link you got from imgur and voila (also, UPLOAD your card on imgur because if you leave it on Hearthcards only, it could vanish after some time or whatever...it's all explained in the Competition Rules on the 1st page of the submission topic, as I've already said...you should read 'em more carefully)
it's by the rules I think, but I (and probably many others) don't think it would do well because there is no "Discard a card from your opponent's deck/hand" or whatever you'd call it mechanic - and it probably never will...You could maybe change it "Your opponent draws 2 cards?", that way he'd possibly burn a card or 2 the way it works now...
I like Solstice the best (minus the lapsus calami :P), and I feel like Hell Freezes Over could be "Combo - Do not Freeze Demons." - seems better worded to me :)
...in other news, I sure hope @ScubaHelm's Dread Hookgets to the finals, great work imo :)
So I have a bit of a question considering the balance of this card:
Mainly on the '+1 Durability' part. I know it is technically worse then Upgrade!, but we're talking abut Rogue here, which who have access to cards like Assassin's Blade and Deadly Poison. But I don't know. Could I possibly make it +1/+1 Instead?
Yeah, friendly reminder on enrage: It has to be reversible; it can't be one time effects. There's a reason Acolyte of Pain isn't an enrage card, but Spiteful Smith and Grommash Hellscream are.
it is broken in terms of text. does the spell power change when minions enter and leave the field? do you get storms when a minion is played each time? is it only suppose to happen once? while it is a nice effect it needs to be a battlecry probably.
Hello! Long time fan of the card design competition, this is my first time entering.
So this is the card I came up with. I'm not sure that I'm happy with the effect, but I don't want it to be so complicated that it takes away from the point of this week's theme. I was thinking since the only reason it's a rogue card (technically should be a warlock one) is because of its relation to Valeera, maybe it should affect your hero, like Shadowform?
There's a question of balance as well; I figured it's safe enough at 3 mana considering you would need a demon as a rogue (which was the idea of how it fits into the theme, I didn't even consider that stealing stuff is a signature priest thing, which a lot of people have seem to already brought over to rogue). Feedback is of course appreciated!
It really depends on some awkward combos. What neutral demons are out there? Illidan Stormrage and sort of Imp Master, but you have to wait a turn for her to make one, and that's about it. Doesn't matter the cost, that's a dead card 99% of the time. I like the thought behind it a lot though. Maybe make it a minion with that as a battlecry?
I hear you. I also thought the discard mechanic was questionable, however, Fel Reaver does use discard text. And though it's slightly different, Warlock cards have discard from hand mechanic. Thoughts? Would this seem more correct in a Warlock deck?
I'm thinking about this text instead..
Choose One - Copy two cards from your opponent's hand; or Each player draws three cards.
Desperate Prayer (Shaman-into-priest) : A big healing spell that is both random and with Overload. Can only target friendly characters in order not to make it a potential 1-mana Pyroblast with Soulpriest. Origin: Desperate Prayer is a tier-1 talent priest spell in WoW.
Ethereal Blade (Druid-into-rogue) : A polyvalent 3-mana option. I think this is balanced when you compare the 2-attack option to Truesilver Champion (-1 mana but without the power) or the 2-durability option to Fiery War Axe. Also rogues paradoxically lack good low-cost weapons outside of Wicked Knife.
Healthstone (Priest-into-Warlock) : A life-saver for Warlocks, and alternative (or addition) to Antique Healbot. This might look underpowered when compared with Flash Heal or Healing Touch for example, however you have to take into account synergies. Survivability has always been intended to be warlocks main weakness. Giving them effective ways of self-healing might make them OP. Where is the link with the warlock class you might ask ? Well, in WoW Healthstones are objects created by warlocks as emergency HP restorers.
Advice ? Thoughts ? Which one do you think I should submit (if any) ?

I like the blade, but it is too strong at 3 mana, just look at Ogre Warmaul. And Cogmaster's Wrench and King's Defender have the same stats total only if a certain condition is met. I think it would be fine at 4 mana, yes Death's Bite, Truesilver Champion and Charged Hammer all have special abilities but your card has the flexibility to distribute stats the way you need. Just remember all the times you use Truesilver Champion to remove a 2 health minion.
Desperate Prayer is not my cup of tea because randomness and Healthstone does not really fit the rules because warlock has cards that restore health like Drain Life and Siphon Soul.

Hey, I don't think Desperate Prayer has a very good flavor - why would it have Overload? Healthstone, on the other hand, has a good flavor but seems a bit off the theme for this week.
Anyway, I've just made my card for this week. What do you think of the balance?
Something unrelated to the Competition Cards, but still related...
The Competition Process timeline dates are wrong. xD
Any advice on changing cost/text/stats/class? I make this as a warlock card since I think it is okay in zoo and viable in Reno decks.
How do I post the card link from hearthcards and get the image to show up? I'm having a lot of troubles. -.-
New to this, so hopefully this works.
Any thoughts? I thought the Choose One mechanic really works for Rogue, and was thinking this card works for a mill/clock giant styled deck.

I'd say yes, it's "Copying/controlling your opponent's cards" as stated in the rules...but I'm no mod so maybe wait for their verdict

What's your opinion?
Give a man a Murloc, and he'll eat for a day.
Give him a Murloc Knight, and people will hate him.
Opinions please :)

Many of you use enrage wrong and or forget to use battlecry. Change it because many of your cards are awesome!

So many ideas! Help me pick please? Feedback appreciated.
A bit simple, but potential added card draw for rogues, with the Choose 1 ability.
Potential alternate finisher. Also, could push a zoo mage deck.
Check out my entrant for the WCDC 9.12: Bilgewater Highroller
Completely forgot about battlecry. Damn
