Why is this card replacing Zombie Chow even a argument? The Squire is way way way to slow for aggro decks since it requires you too Hero Power the turn after. Even then it's a 2/2......This card is absolutely garbage. Vanilla as it gets.
This wasn't supposed to be an argument. I saw a thread full of hate for a card which I thought had more potential than it was being credited with. Apparently I poked a bee hive. My mistake.

Just think you have the wrong idea although I'm actually considering it for a more aggressive version of my ping mage. Probably won't make the cut, but I just realized how mage can utilize such a card for a couple of it's tougher matchups. Less than stellar, but in a deck that strives to ping early and often, it might have a small niche in clearing a couple of ANNOYING minions early game without penalizing you for drawing it late game like chow. I'll probably just stick to the mana wyrm though. I think I'm packing enough early game spells to make use of it.

The only one filled with hate here is you. Everyone here is trying to point out some of the flaws in your analysis. I don't understand what you are getting offensive about.

- You ping your opponents 2/3 and run the 2/2 Squire in / or ping face and run the 2/2 Squire into a 3/2.
- End of Story...That's what will happen 99 out of 100 times..Wow amazing card with potential?
= It's horrid card because you can't follow with a 2 drop after your 1 drop unlike Zombie Chow...It's slow..
The ONLY way this card can be good is if you get the dream with Squire then next turn Coin Velen's Chosen and you some how manage to defend it???? But now were just talking about shit that will almost never happen so.
Also another note.....North Shire Cleric is still 10X better too Velen's then the Squire..So it's back to the drawing board and the reality....The card is shit.
my point is that this minion has potential. If we see 1-2 drop cards released in the next 120 cards which trigger your hero power when played, this little squire could trade as effectively as Zombie Chow (though granted not always as effectively, namely against other 1 drops). The thing which the squire has over chow is that he is not a "worse than a brick" draw late game, and if left unanswered in the first few turns of a game, could get out of hand quite quickly. After all, using hero power every turn is what a good player should be doing if they are ahead on board, and this squire can grow with that early advantage. Chow cannot. So, while the squire is likely going to be worse than chow, and will likely be irrelevant, i remain hopeful that one or two other cards which have yet to be released will make this little guy playable in constructed. No other card which I have seen yet (aside from the mage dragon) seems to have even a glimmer of constructed play ability.

But for the card to be good, it has to stay on the field for a couple of turns. Even at the optimal situation, it is still a 2/2 on turn 2, 3/2 on turn 3, and 4/2 on turn 4. Doesn't sound attractive.
Now, if we give this little guy charge, and then put it into the mage-machine-gun deck. That would be interesting.

Even if there is cards that trigger your hero power, the chances of your Squire being alive still by then is extremely unlikely. Zombie Chow requires no help/effort, this Squire requires/demands way to much for little reward. Also using your hero power every turn IS NOT what a good player should be doing since it's a massive tempo loss and you'll lose control of the board very fast doing that. Your making it sound good in your head and thinking of this dream sh@t that will never happen.

The possibility of having an aggro deck filled with Inspire trigger exists. I do not deny that. But for the little guy to work, some within the other 120 cards had better be good and synergize with this little guy (a.k.a. the Inspire mechanics). If they come up with more playable 1/2/3-drops that have Inspire, and it reaches a critical mass that allows the creation of a new Inspire-based Aggro deck, yes, Lowly Squire might likely becomes a staple.
Undertaker would still be the better card since you can follow with a 2 drop without losing tempo....The only exception is if there will be 2 mana card that has a battlecry ''use your hero power on a random enemy'' which allows you to keep tempo and buff your squire.
For something to have a battlecry like that it would have to be a Mage only card as well.

I'm glad my term is catching on XD. I actually was considering it in my first build of machine gun mage as an anti aggro tech since I would likely be tapping the ping anyway and a late game 6/2 is pretty impressive after a burst of pings. I decided on the kodo guy in the end though as a one of and a chow just for consistencies sake. I guess I'll see in a month just how good the deck is.

I am just imagining things.
1 mana 1/2, Inspire: Deals 1 damage to a random enemy.
2 mana 2/3, Inspire: other minions with Inspire gets +0/+1.
3 mana 2/4, Inspire: Draw a card.
See, these cards are not balanced of course, but if enough cards that do things like these exist, a deck will be formed to take advantage of that. Which is why I am never writing something off because it looks bad at first glance. I think it is up to Blizzard, see if they wanna do something like that.

I see it as that+ atk on heal minion. That warrior + charge 3 cost, play this. play hero power (+ potential "trigger hero power" cards and the likes) and it can work (even if its not worth it).
Even if not it's still a 1 drop turning into a 2-2 whenever you use your hero power. It's a decent 1 drop card. Even if it won't see play in constructed it's not -bad-. Its value goes up if you dont get a turn 2 play too.
Anyways some people overreact, it is not a bad card. It just doesn't seem to be worth it in competive play (ladder) but i can see it work in casual and arena. Beside the game needed a 1 drop synergising with the theme of the XP: Hero power. and it does the job there. :)
Seems like Rogue and Druid are the only ones who get anything decent out of turn-2 hero power. Handlock would never run this. Zoo wants to be playing minions turn 2. Priest would play Zombie Chow. This new Druid Cancer Face deck maybe? No - hero power is too slow for aggro.
This seems unequivocally bad - something I really hate to say. I'm going to assume there are going to be other cards that buff all squires or something. Seems like something this expansion would do.
This looks good for Rogue, unless any new minions come out, Rogue T2 is typically hero power anyway and that effect remains in play unlike the other classes' hero powers.

I think it's pretty good, for something like a paladin deck or a warlock deck.
if i want a chow alternatice for warrior i'd chose warbot though.

Let's just move on. :p Card is ok in frost giant decks. Let's start there.
How exactly do i have the wrong idea?
- You play on turn 1

Decent in Arena for ping classes. It will trade with any 2 drop after you use hero power. Which if you didn't draw into a 2 could be a lifesaver.
