I'm surprised so many people think that Rogue has the worst hero power. It's actually the best hero power in terms of tempo.

    Quote from SpeakOfNothing >>
    Quote from Dracygon >>

I'm sorry, but as aplayer that primarily plays midrange decks, I can tell you that Handlock and Mountain Giants are absolutely broken. Passing the first few turns are nothing when I only run a few early game minions. I therefore have no clean way of dealing with an 8/8 short of dumping my entire hand while you have supreme card advantage. I understand that midrange decks shouldn't beat everything, but between Twilight Drakes and Mountain Giants, that's too much of a hard counter for most of the existing decks. It needs to be nerfed, I refuse to be forced into playing aggro to combat handlock.

This reads kind of like "the game should be tailored around the decks I play, please get rid of all my counters"
The whole point of games like these is that there are a variety of decks available with different strengths and weaknesses, and handlock is a great example and a healthy deck for this game to have. Players should be able to run handlock if they see a host of midrange decks to prey upon, while at the same time opening themselves up to be slaughtered by aggressive decks. Everything gets beat by something, and there aren't really any inherently bad deck types. (yes, even aggro has an important role in the health of the game)
The fact that you don't want to play aggro isn't really a good thing; by refusing to play aggro you simply deny yourself a potential strategic advantage against decks like handlock. Build yourself more decks and play what's effective, rather than advocating nerfs to your weak matchups.
It seems like you didn't understand my post and / or don't have much experience in the match-up so I'll mostly reiterate my points. Handlock already counters midrange decks pretty hard even without Mountain Giants. A Twilight Drake on turn 3 or 4 is normally enough to give you such a huge advantage that you can snowball the rest of the way. With BGH getting nerfed, you can't possibly expect to keep Mountain Giants (and Handlock for that matter) in its current shape and form. It's too much of a hard counter, which is absolutely unhealthy for the game since it devolves into a pure Rock - Paper - Scissors rather than allowing the better player to win some games against an unfavored match-up. From your second paragraph, you seem to advocate this type of game, but I completely disagree with that type of game design. In-game skill should be important, and hard counter decks reduce that factor. Not healthy at all, people will just be frustrated because most games feel like they had no chance whatsoever. Again, let me reiterate so it's absolutely clear, counter decks are fine, hard counter decks are not. Handlock with Drakes and Giants against a nerfed BGH is the definition of a hard counter deck against a good number of decks out there (meaning it's not just one match-up like Freeze Mage vs Warrior).
On your point regarding how I play, I am well aware that there is a strategic advantage to playing all types of decks, I just don't like playing some decks, and saying it isn't a good thing is taking only your perspective into account. I don't like playing aggro, I find decisions to be too easy (from my perspective), and I feel less satisfied by my wins. I would rather make it to legend every season on my terms and enjoy the game more, even if it comes at sub-optimal laddering. Saying how I play is a bad thing is frankly quite condescending of you when I have very valid reasons of playing the way I do.

You have to learn how to take feedback better, I have ideas that get shot down, they don't do it in the best way possible, but I don't argue with people that do so. Just take it constructively and see what you can improve. No point arguing on the internet.

Maybe you're right... But note that I never went against anyone, only encouraged Blizzard to remove the dislike option, as I think you can agree, makes people feel not welcomed when they share their thoughts and they're being disliked, even if they're being kind and enthusiastic. Call me emotional, but I really think allot of people would feel even just slightly bad due to this, no?
That's fair i suppose, but the thread title and original topic make it difficult for devs to note the suggestion. Best to make a separate topic if you want higher chances of changes.

I have a feeling that this wont see play. Too much tempo loss. If you're really a spell heavy deck, I feel like you'd be much better off running Tomb Pillager and Violet Teacher as your 4-drops.

You're looking at it from the wrong perspective I feel. If you don't have almost all the cards now (it sounds like you don't if you don't have Dr. Boom), then you will never have all the cards unless you start shelling out loads of cash, which you can do right now anyway (or later on with the new packs). I've been playing practically everyday since closed beta and I'm still missing a lot of legendaries. With every new set that comes out, I get further and further behind from a complete collection, it will be the same for you. You can just buy TGT or the new pack that comes out and I guarantee you'll have just as much (if not a higher chance) to get a legendary you don't have. Buying a specific pack to target a specific legendary always seemed like a bad idea in the first place, the odds of that happening are so low that you're better off buying a set that you don't have too many rares or epics in.
Well, I've been focusing on getting all the Expert (Classic) cards first. I certainly want Dr. Boom, but I'm also under no real incentive to hurry. And actually, before this announced change, I was very content to do quests, win games, Arena, and tavern Brawl to get packs, sometimes having good things in them, and using the extra cards as dust. Yes, it would take a while, but completely doable. It is still doable under this new change, but crafting everything will make it take a lot longer. I understand the need to fix the game for newer players. I understand that, and my only major problem with this is not being able to buy packs from any expansion desired, even with "non-standard" cards. I really don't think retaining that method of obtaining cards is too much to ask for.
As for TGT, I did buy the... was it 50 pack for 50$? I forget the amount, and I got only one Legendary out of it. I'm not complaining, don't get me wrong; I was able to get around 69% of the new cards released. Sometimes you get lucky (I got two Legendary's back to back last month), and before TGT, I didn't get a single Legendary in a pack.
I will have to think about your final point. My idea has been, "Well, I have a chance to get the cards I don't possess, and even if I don't, I'll have cards that will help build up my dust." Which does work, as I started out with a lot of missing rares, and I now have every Expert (Classic) rare, and have gotten 10 Epics I was missing, plus 10 Legendary's from card-packs. Again, my buying packs isn't to target a specific Legendary; I agree that is not a good way to go about it. It's to get any Legendary, or just plain card I don't possess. But you are right about that point.
I just don't think they need to take away the ability to buy packs. That seems to needlessly limit your ability to get cards. I just plain don't understand that. They could mark it as "Non-standard", or something.
I guess that makes sense, having GvG packs and marking them as non-Standard seems fine, you can even give a one time text box warning when people try to buy those packs. On a tangent point, while I'm sad they're getting rid of older adventures, I like the fact that people now have the option to dust the cards they got which will make people that bought those adventures feel better (assuming they only want to play Standard). I'm just sad that newer players won't be able to experience the adventures which I found quite fun.

posted a message on Classic Legendaries: Correct Me If I'm Wrong

My guess is Ragnaros, with all the sticky minions from Naxx and GvG going away (Creeper, Egg, Belcher, Shredder, etc), his effect will once again be quite strong as the "fastest" 8-drop in the game. My advice would be to wait until the meta settles after the next release though, no point pulling the trigger on your dust this early.

I am not at all happy. I don't even have a Dr. Boom, not do I generally have the cards to craft those amazing decks, but this seems like a slap in the face to the people who have been collecting, or are trying to, get all the cards.

So what, instead of buying for 100 gold (very reasonable) a GvG pack, I'll have to CRAFT all the legendaries I don't have!?!? My god, it will take a least twice as long to get all the cards with this format without the chance of getting a legendary in a deck. This change just sucks for card collectors. Frankly, while I know they needed to do something to help new players, screwing over older players like this just blows.

What do you guys think about replacing the Teacher with a Sabotage?

I replaced it with BGH, but I'm highly considering using Sabotage instead also. The thing people don't realize is that Sabotage is probably one of the few things that can save us from Doomhammer. On the other hand, against a Pally that plays MC when you don't have a board / clear or anyone that plays Dr. Boom when you don't have a way to deal with the bots could spell trouble for you. I feel that Shaman isn't common enough to warrant Sabotage just yet.

If we're talking about annoying and not rage-inducing (which are typically aggro decks for me), then it has to be priest or freeze mage. If I really had to choose, I'd probably say priest.

This is a really good topic imo, really had to think which deck I hated the most. Had to go with Face Hunter in the end simply because they naturally do well against Rogue (which I play ~90% of the time), they seem to BM more than any other class despite their cheap antics, and they are relatively easy to pilot. Yes I know a lot of people say Face Hunter takes skill to play; frankly any deck in Hearthstone requires thinking because the game is much harder than people give it credit for. What I am saying though is that they take LESS skill to play than almost all other classes. For those bashing on how easy it is to play midrange decks, the thing you have to remember is that a good midrange player has to know when it's time to go for the throat and switch his play style accordingly, much harder than going face 99% of the time (aggro vs. aggro match-ups are the only ones you have to consider trading in most of the time).

I think midrange decks are easier,it is harder to know when to face or trade than it is to know when it's time to go for the throat and switch play style accordingly,in fact most of the time it is quite obvious.
I guess where I'm coming from here is that I observe a lot of players making mistakes when playing midrange decks because they aren't aggressive at the appropriate times. Sometimes I feel it's not obvious at all actually and only someone with a deep understanding of the game would know to be aggressive in those situations; a lot of players play safe and trade, but the mark of a better player is that they go face a lot more often because they know they can get away with it. It's much easier for aggro players imo because you typically only have to trade for the high threat targets like Knife Juggler and when your opponent can lethal you. Also, just going face all the time will get you a much higher win rate than a midrange deck that just trades all the time or goes face all the time, that for me means aggro is much more forgiving as well.
I understand of course that this is purely subjective, might be a play style difference that makes other players see things differently than me and hence find certain decks easier. I would stand to argue though that a lot of players that say midrange is easy, don't actually play it correctly in the first place.

posted a message on What rank do people consider good?

As many have discussed, it's difficult to segregate skill by rank since most of it is based on how many games you play. "Rank" really only matters at legend since the number you see is an actual representation of your matchmaking rank.

I know quite a few players that could do much better if they invested more time ranking up, I can say the opposite for some as well. I make legend every season, but it feels like it takes me a metric ton of games.

Aggro and the 2 pally decks mentioned are probably the easiest decks to pilot. Face Hunter is not as effective as Aggro Shaman though, so I suggest going with those decks instead.

Having said that, I'm also obliged to hate your guts for playing those decks. Good luck though. :P
