For an midrange/aggressive deck, doing what you say with consistency will be a serious challenge. It is worth to build the deck your way and, say, I dunno, at least 35 percent of the time it's a 2 mana 2/3 vanilla. The payoff is too weak without any further highlander support when you look at the current meta, where it's clear that deck will get thrashed by top tier meta decks consistently.

If you thought you knew what you think I know, then you'd know I knew you knew I know.
WIth the present cardpool I cannot see a Reno Paladin in Standard. Firstly, you will not get the same hero power all the time. So it will not be reliable to get a useful hero power for your build. Secondly, a singleton deck is more on the control side since it will lack the necessary consistency in the early game. And thirdly, Paladin has not very good control cards after the nerf of equality. The upgraded hero power will not be a win condition on its own, even not The Silver Hand and Ballista Shot . And finally, you need to draw the card unlike Baku the Mooneater who will give you the hero power every time at the beginning (helping with the early game). So you cripple your deck and might benefit on turn 20+...
I don't see it. Maybe with a bigger card pool or some crazy good Paladin cards. But then again, why not use two copies of a crazy good card?
This card is so fucking retarded, Keleseth tought nothing... it will be SO FUNNY to lose to this card on 2 with old baku hero power, or stuff like that. Thank god i uninstalled
The reason this card is 2 mana is probably because of Crystallogy. Even so, What if you drew this card every game by turn 1 (with the coin) or turn 2. How good is this card then?
The answer is IF that were to happen, this card would be absolutely bonkers, much like Keleseth was often back breaking if that happened.
So the ceiling for this card is very high and could win games outright. But the floor is so bad that I dont think a singleton paladin deck is worth the high roll here.
This is going to be extremely high roll and salt inducing when your opponent has this on turn 1 with the coin.
This card seems interesting and powerful. Looks like they want Paladins to have face decks from the cards revealed, this card will help contribute to keeping those decks dynamic. A bit disappointed if they aren't really supporting Dragon Paladin builds as it seems. They have been teasing at making it a viable concept, but then add very little support for the concept.
People sniffing their own ass talking about how no one will play this card b/c they know exactly what paladin decks are gonna be without knowing what the rest of the cards in the expansion are. Temper your presentation, babes, and people might actually think you are a perceptive, intelligent person.
Odd Pala in Wild is the Reason that this cost 2 Mana and not 1
Most misinformed post in a while. Odd Paladin already has the very best upgraded hero power in the game, downgrading it would make no sense. And at 1 mana this would be OP as a 2/3 and would be an absolute auto-include in everything, and essentially an autowin on turn 1.
You can't use it in a even deck because upon playing finley you loose the 1 mana discount so it doesn't make any sense
Edit: replying to those saying its a good card in even decks
Since this showed up in my notifications as a reply to me, I simply said in response to someone else he's better in Even decks than Odd decks, because someone posted that he was even costed because he'd be too good in Odd Paladin. Which... why? Odd Paladin is built around the 2 Dudes power, why get rid of it? For the chance of getting the Hunter power? I don't really think he belongs in an Even deck either, but in that context, it's good he's an even cost minion because he'd make no sense in odd decks.
But if someone wanted to play him in an Even list... playing him on turn 2 (or 1 with Coin), yeah that's kind of bad to lose that power so quickly. But if it's about 4-5 turns in or later you have a little more mana and the 1 cost hero power isn't necessarily as good as a 2 mana hero power that is upgraded. And you have the option to potentially role a hero power more suited for the match up you're in.
Ex: Playing against someone with a lot of taunts? Use Findley to get the upgraded Mage or Hunter hero power to bypass taunts and do some face damage. Or playing against a burn deck? Maybe you try for the upgraded Warrior, Priest, or Druid powers as the first two give you 4 more life and the Druid power gets you +2 health and +2 attack each turn.
So could it be done? Yes. Is it optimal to cut copies of some even cost cards out of your Even Paladin for the chance of high rolling the upgraded power you need for the late game? No, probably not.
even thought i hate this card design since it is a justicar with keleseth mana cost and wr increase with the no duplicate mechanic that i found really poor, it will surely be meta defining.
Here's why, compare it to baku. 1 of restriction is probably about as restrictive as odd/even. However with this card you need to draw and play it to activate unlike baku which happens every game.
Yeah but comparing it to Baku is a little silly, Baku ended up being a card whose power level was 10/10. I see this card being a little worse than Keleseth due to the randomness of discover, which still makes it a very good card lol

It also depends on how good a Highlander aggro Paladin deck is.
I saw the Omni review from Zalae and Ike yesterday , and they hyped Finley as the best of the Legendarys and praising him as the new Prince Keleseth . But compared to Keleseth the price for this card is way higher imo. The best aggro cards are generally normal snowball cards you wanna have 2 of ( like others mentioned Murloc Warleader , Murloc Tidecaller, Crystology , etc) .
To be honest i could only see a Highlander aggro deck work if they flood us with aggro cards ...
Whatever the deck archetype is you need to build a singleton deck for this to see play, don't think we have the cardpool in Standard right now for viable Control or Aggro decks for Paladin right now. Control probably does not want the added risk of an RNG hero power it has no idea how to work with. With aggro while it's feasible in principle I'm skeptical that the cardpool is there - you'd just be building a worse Zoo at that point as far as I can imagine and the deck needs to hold its own without drawing Finley. You can have successful singleton decks (I played a Reno/DK Guldan Demon Zoo deck back in the day) but they need a big cardpool of synergistic cards.

This is for Wild. Sorry Standard, but this expansion belongs to us :)

Hell no, Crystallogy and Call to Adventure are the reasons because this costs 2 mana instead of 1.
Still, it is as powerful as Keleseth I'd say.

All these no duplicates cards are basically a buff for bomb warrior

2 mana 2/3 that gives me an upgraded heropower (better than summon 1 recruit1/1)! thnx blizzard I'll take it

Probably a gold craft for me, looks cool, seems good and it's Sir Finley so ofc i need him golden :D

I'm thinking of starting to play paladin after seeing this card :)
