Another MEME card for priest, what a surprise. If they dont give RAMP cards to priest, the 3 permanent mana tempo loss it is just too much to handle. On turn 6, you would be at 3 mana summoning one or two 1 mana minions with 3/4 worth of stats while you opponent at 6 mana can do the same with 3 mana minions, having the option to use high mana spells or summon big bois.
i don't know, priest doesn't have ramp mechanics to recovery from losing 3 mana. To late game is, lol, too late. For early game is a suicide. You can say "we can comb this with the lady in white". Yeah but you need to survive past turn 8.
I think the problem with this card is going to be draw. The downside is so big that unless you have a ton of draw in hand, it's going to put you so far behind on tempo that you'll never catch up. If priest can find a relatively consistent draw engine though, this could be bonkers.
Hot garbage. Purify at least didn't destroy your mana base.
"Hey, the only thing Magic has that Hearthstone doesn't is mana screw!" "Ok, let's print a card that teaches players what it feels like to get mana-screwed."
it's a good bad card, it creates a new deck and that's why it's good to have in the game but burning your mana like that is just way too annoying, also Keleseth still exists in standard and there aren't enough viable 1 drops to pull Kele+this card combo, and there shouldn't be anyways because op 1 drops is what almost killed this game in the past in the first place...so yeah it will see heavy experimentation and will have some fans swearing by it, but it wont be top tier, kinda like APM priest and Tesspionage rogue, they aren't competitive decks but they have a loyal fanbase
So I'm thinking you need to play this later in the game so the mana burn isn't a problem, but also with enough cards in your deck to make it worth it. What card creates that condition? Archbishop Benedictus. With bishop costing 7 mana you can play it first and then play surrender to madness with 10 mana. Next turn you're at 8 mana, and you're playing your opponents deck only better. The question is is if Archbishop Benedictus is already enough for those fatigue games, and if surrender to madness is just overkill.

This is pointless (although not as absurd as putting into an Aggro or Tempo list). You play AB to win in Fatigue because you have so many more cards. You don’t need the buffs. Analogous to how you don’t play Lady in White in your Priest that is running Ysera — a 12/12 Ysera really isn’t much better than a 4/12.
But don’t get me wrong. Even LIW is better than this crap card. Beyond rank 20 wild eyed dreams, this card doesn’t evev see in the experimental period.
Doesn't seem like this is going to be tier 1 (or 2, or 3 I guess), but it doesn't look that bad to me either. I doubt the 0 cost inclusions the most, maybe replace them with better 1 drops. I bet priest gets a good one-drop to go with this.
I predict there's gonna be a ridiculous amount of aggro/tempo priest on the first 1-2 days of the expansion trying to make this card work and then they'll realize that the tempo loss is just too big, being at 1 mana when your opponent is at 4 is just giving them the game if your deck is minion based. also you could probably give them even an extra turn cause you would need to top deck a buffed 1-drop every game to makes this card worth its drawback.
I am SO glad that this isn't a rogue card. I can only imagine the turn 1 Preparation + Surrender to Madness that just highrolls you to death with no real costs. Even as is, you will probably be able to coin this out on turn 2 against a lot of control and value decks to just run people over. Your 1-drops will start hitting when your opponent has 3 mana, which means that you will likely be able to contest the board.
I think the spell has to be casted straight to the minion on the board.
Haven't tested it tho..
If I have less than 3 mana crystals, and a discounted copy of this card. Let's assume: no mana crystals and cost = 0:
Am I still able to play this card? If so, how many mana crystals would I have next turn.

I think You are able to play it like You can coin Living Mana as well.
So on coin You can play this Turn 2 and start Turn 3 with 1 mana?

It kills your early game and is useless late game.
This card needs back-up's in the new expansion to see play.
However if we look at the last few expansions, cards like these usually aren't supported by other cards.
So far my vote goes to "bad".

Bad players whine.
Good players adapt.
Should be costing 2 mana and losing 2 mana.
Comparing this with Prince Keleseth, you'll get double the effect but have no body on board and lose 2 mana. Seems fair enough to me.

This is my take of it - pretty similar!

Losing 3 mana is a huge cost early. Might be playable late, but in that case it's too slow.
Should have been a Druid card. /s

I see this potentially being good in the way that Quest Rogue was good.
IMO it would be playable if it was Overload 3, but at "destroy 3 mana crystals" it is totally unplayable with the current card set.
However I think the card name is fitting. You are surrendering to absolute madness if you run this card in your deck.
