A reason I bring this up is because I played a mill Druid earlier which is basically just all the powerful tools of armor gain and scarabs but with an end game plan of milling and using jade idols to stay alive. Now I play a majority of troll decks and this was just a bad matchup I’m not just complaining and babyraging my way to the forums
But rogue obviously being the main abuser of this card (for mill purposes) has so many tools to keep your board empty and hand full just seems a bit redundant.
Lose vs aggro win vs control MOST times *(not all) just seems unbalanced in general not in an OP way since it still gets throttled by aggro but for control makes the most boring auto lose you’ve had (unless they seriously misplay)
this forum has been made before but I wanted to make my own to see if I could ignite the passion in some mill players/haters because I know it’s such a polarized field
I have played mill decks before and they are a fun switch up but not my forte when it comes to unique decks.
I have never had issue playing or playing against coldlight oracle and think it helps provide a unique deck archetype that really isn't that OP. Perhaps currently with fatigue warrior it may mess with the current meta after seeing it's success at HCT Toronto but i haven't seen the evidence that it needs removed like we have recently seen with patches and creeper
Mill has, in the time I've played, never really been tier 1 meta, so I don't like that they HOF'ed it because it wasn't oppressive, and Coldlight Oracle did allow that whole unique archetype to exist in a game that usually allows for only a small handful of decks to compete.
Hopefully, they will release some other cards that make mill feasible, but I think they just did it so that Echo mechanic could exist. (Mill would absolutely destroy decks built to offload only one card/turn from hand.) Disappointed.
If given the choice to realize mill decks or Echo decks, it's easily mill for me. My greatest concern is that they just made Mill an expansion-based archetype.
In one hand I'm happy Blizzard is taking action against milling but on the other hand, as a Wild main, I don't like the idea of any more mill players moving to Wild.
i was really bummed about the move because mill decks have always been my favorite, but on second thought, they probably moved it because in internal testing, some sort of mill rogue was tier 1, and the only reason why mill decks are fun are because they're the underdogs and take THE MOST SKILL OUT OF ANY DECK IN HS (because people ACTUALLY think that handlock and control warrior took "the most skill").
When a mill deck becomes tier 1 and brainless like jade druid, the game is MISERABLE to play. I just wish they made a video explaining the meta without the switch and showcasing why it's being removed. In any case, I think the meta will actually be decently slow if a card like oracle is a threat enough for a hall of fame switch, so that's something to think about.
I'd have preferred to keep it, but Rogue's other tools make it awfully irritating to play against. I've never had a problem with Mill Warrior, though, and personally I love to tinker with Coldlight Oracle in Shaman (the Murmuring Elemental interaction is quite lovely).
Personally, I'll miss Coldlight Oracle, but if the designers felt it was a problem for battlecry interactions and developing new cards, I'm willing to trust them enough that I'm willing to give it up.
Just a note, there’s a dedicated topic for this you can search for instead of creating a duplicate subject post.
People answer to the thread, so why do you feel the need to put this useless comment to the discussion. Worst then a duplicate thread.
To let someone who’s fairly new know there are tools to find answers that they can check out while limiting dupe threads. There was about 150 posts last I saw on that thread. If this poster wanted to know what people think it’s a good place to go. I wasn’t trying to be rude, I was trying to help someone and keep the discussions cleaned up.
I'm going to really miss coldlight oracle. I felt like it was a very interesting card that had several different uses and fit into a lot of different decks without being broken. I understand why they HoF'ed it, even if I don't agree with it.
Just annoyed with all the people who try to redirect people to salt thread or old threads. It's like you are not allowed to express yourself or have a opinion discussion.
My answer to your suggestion is, what if old threads are not current or something has changed since....ie nerfing the meta, so circumstances change, so maybe opinions change too.
So, on the one hand, I HATE milling with a frothing passion, so I'm happy that they're taking a hit. On the other...
Coldlight Oracle is an absolutely garbage card that is seeing play purely because the last two tier 1 decks (highlander priest, cubelock) are so uninteractive (actually uninteractive. In both cases you lose because your opponent plays a sequence of cards in one or two turns that win them the game instantly, with no chance for you to contest such a sequence on the board) and oppressive to play against that your only hope of winning is to pray you randomly mill an important card. Them HOF'ing Coldlight to me feels less like "Mill is just unfun to play against, so we're hobbling it" as much as "Nobody can be allowed to challenge our God King Gul'Dan", and I absolutely despise that. What happened to "Decks where you assemble a combo in your hand and then auto-win are unfun and should be avoided," Blizzard? You seem to be doing the opposite these days.
This is a hard question for me. I like the idea of milling cause it's a different win condition than anything else we've seen. It's also fun to play. But I would agree that the polarized decks that are amazing vs control and terrible vs aggro, or vice versa, aren't fun to play against.

Mill is there to keep extremely greedy control decks in check, and its needed like any other archetype to make meta healthy.

Should be a thread somewhere for responses like this too.

If you truly enjoy Mill, you should really switch to Wild, even more so for Druid.
At which point, the hofing of Oracle is unimportant.
Bad design card that limits design space, very frustrating to play against aswell. Glad it's going to HoF.
Personally, I'll miss Coldlight Oracle, but if the designers felt it was a problem for battlecry interactions and developing new cards, I'm willing to trust them enough that I'm willing to give it up.
Mill decks belong in Wild. Standard doesn't need them.

MIll decks are the worst archetype in the game. Just a really LAME way to try to play the game.
