oh i really wish ethereal peddler got some shine. i've played a fair amount of burgle rogue and it's a really fun deck. peddler enables so many wacky combos. it really felt like it was one or two slots away from being a like...well, tier 3 deck, but still something you could play on ladder.
It was pretty good in Dual Class arena though, probably the mvp of the entire event.

Yeah, and now we have Leyline Manipulator, that can repeat Peddler's destiny. But at least Ethereal Peddler was pretty good in dual class arena)
P.S. Did you run Lilian Voss in your deck? Or she's not worth it?

yeah i ran voss and gallywix (in wild). i played around with both tempo-y builds (i think even did one with keleseth?) and more control/value-oriented ones (with saps and scientist/ghoul combo). both builds kinda sucked. voss was generally not great (do NOT waste dust on her), but gallywix is a pretty underrated card (and can also backfire horribly/amusingly!).
i think leyline could still be busted as a combo enabler, but as a discount for randomly generated cards, it definitely faces the same problem as peddler. value-oriented control decks don't need really the tempo of a 4/5 body, while tempo-oriented ones don't want to waste turn 2/3/4 generating random cards.
Druid was always playable, unlike Shaman and Beast Druid is way better than Freeze Shaman, which is so bad, that you have to ask yourself wth was Blizzard thinking.... (And Discard Warlock was also worse, considering the laughable state of Warlock at that time....)

Discard warlock was legitimately competitive at one point!
I have actually used Master of Evolution in my Evo Shaman deck quite a lot (admittedly not Tier 1, but I'm just naturally attracted to less common/popular decks - which is also why I usually stick around Rank 10). I also have one copy of Menagerie Warden in my Jungle Druid to copy the 12/12 legendary dinosaur, which has won me multiple games against control/jade decks.
But otherwise I agree and especially agree with the sentiment in the OP. Such wasted potential - esp. the Grimy Goons imho :-/ An honourable mention for me is the hunter quest (although I know that isn't rotating out).

Yeah - if the hunter quest was rotating out, it would 100% be on this list. It might even receive top billing!
Twilight Darkmender is amazing in C'Thun Priest. Unfortunately, the deck never really took off, but I had a lot of fun playing C'Thun Priest when WotOG first came out. I really wish the entire C'Thun Priest archetype did better, although Priest in general wasn't very good at the time.
I would also like to give a mention to Hallazeal the Ascended. It's a really cool card. A little bit situational, but when it works, it can literally win you the game and its effect is SO satisfying to pull off. I'm sad that it didn't see that much play.

Hal saw lots of play before frozen throne in control thuzad shaman - back when the volcano was a great card.
I got some good mileage from Halazeal in Malygos Shaman, so I wouldn't say it was bad...Don Han'Cho tho...
You can't stop the signal.
Beast druid was not a failed forced archetype, it's not the best but not the worst
Menagerie Warden saw some play with Stranglethorn Tiger and Tyrantus

Menagerie Magician and Zoobot. So wanted to multi-tribe decks to be a thing. Alas...

My bad, was mostly thinking of the time when Blizzard printed Lakkari Sacrifice and Blood-Queen Lana'thel. (Of course I got both of them....)
The problem with Twilight Darkmender is how awful it was compared to Ancient Shieldbearer
at least half of these cards you mentioned are great cards in arena and we will miss them... :(
