Frst, rush and echo is official keyword for (re)new mechanic. They always make sub-mechanic in every expansion : KFT with cast again effect (spreading plague,defile...),ungoro with elemental, old gods with forbidden cards (spend all mana to do something)...
Second, only 6 cards have been revealed .The keyword may look boring but it will depends on how blizzard use it like Unstable Evolution = evolve + echo but still pretty fun card
Rush while not necessarly "new" is a healthy way to give future minions a way of charging, it can allow for potentionally strong minions to exist instead of OP ones, and Echo is completely new, it was only introduced in one card in the latest expansion, just because it was introduced before it got a name and popularity in card design doesn't mean it isn't original and unique, in fact it's probably one of the most unique keywords since most of them interact with the minion when it's on the board, and this keyword interacts with minions (and spells) from your hand
I don't foresee Hunter being good with the even/odd mechanics. Warrior, sure - I've already seen promising decks in that way.
The issue with Hunter is that the deck would be too constricted, since even means no weapons, no animal companion, and none of your secret interactive minions. Odd see all secrets out the window, as well as DK. I sincerely hope the community proves me wrong, but I just don't see it being viable with what we know.
I already think Echo will be what defines this set. Obviously, we'll see what Blizzard chooses to do with the remaining 129 cards in due time.
For example, the Summoning Stone (Minions you play cost {2} less, but not less than {1}) will interact beautifully with the {3} 2/4 Echo Taunt.
Just some speculations. I'm excited to see what everyone else thinks. <3

I named the wrong card, my mistake. Warlock's Summoning Portal will combo well with the echo taunt guy.
All i can say is that you may be pleasantly surprised with the cards. Echo especially seems like the kind of mechanic that may bring a lot of creative ideas with it.
or completely break the game... there's a reason mtg stopped printing storm and Flashback cards... it's not that they weren't fun it's that they got way too out of control, i'm actually happy to see Rush, it means less charge minions or the far away possibility of eventually reworing every charge minion into a ruhs minions, like doomguard's effect reading Rush,Battlecry: discard 2 cards and gain charge.
Glad to see them adding rush, it's a nice mechanic in shadowverse as it allows you to charge a lot more minions without it being overpowered due to face damage so it's good to see it being added to hearthstone. Echo has potential to be interesting as well, but will have to wait and see what cards they add with it.
uh, we have seen a total of six cards. I dont think you can judge what the keywords will even end up being like. Thats like disliking the posionous keyword because you first saw it on a 7/9 minion.
and by the way, I think echo is a VERY interesting keyword that has A LOT of potential. It also is cool flavorwise
anyway, I cant believe these treads are popping up already
aint new, there is molten blade that is the same, and the 1 mana legendary cant remember the name,. but love the expac so far
This is implemented in a fundamentally different way. The previous versions (shifter zerus, molten blade, mage spell) were all very random.
With the shifting between two specific items it becomes more useful, gives the player control and allows for more decision making rather than just hoping to get lucky.
aint new, there is molten blade that is the same, and the 1 mana legendary cant remember the name,. but love the expac so far
It's different though, molten blade switches between any random weapon state. I got the impression that this card type continuously switches between two specific states based on the same unique card. Since you know each turn what it'll switch to it's a completely different thing
I haven't been this excited for an expansion in years. The game really needed to take a step back to address the draw RNG issues and other imbalances created by recent expansions rather than implement more clown fiesta
All the cards released so far look healthy for the game. Rush is a board catch-up mechanic and will probably close the gap between the first vs coin winrate disparities in both constructed and arena. It's another way to deal with game-ending snowball minions, which no one likes. Echo cards give slow decks late game value without being unplayable in the early game, increasing deck consistency
I especially love how they designed the hero power cards. Specifically the part where they apply their effects at the start of the game instead of when drawn and played. One of the biggest issues with Raza priest was the fact that games, especially mirrors, would be determined largely by when they draw their Raza and Anduin. The same goes for other decks centered around cards that require you to gimp your deck for a huge winrate spike when said card(s) are drawn- Keleseth decks, Big priest, Barnes hunter, spiteful decks. Now blizzard prints two new cards that require you to gimp your deck, but the effects are guaranteed, though weaker. Decks with these cards are going to be less about when you draw your legendaries and more about how good you're playing
I think blizzard made a good job on the release cards this time in KOFT the card reveled first were really underwhelming and mostly not interesting (at least some of them) they were Prince Keleseth, Deathstalker Rexxar(unimpressive battlecry mainly, I think uther or guldan would be a more exciting first reveal TBH),shallow grevedigger read "won't see any play ever", Chillblade Champion and Spirit Lash.
keleseth isn't that impressive at first sight (also unplayable in a meta that warrior , and rexxar was too much of a "what if they give hunter actual good cards" which didn't happen. the rest of the cards weren't really worth much discussion.. specially the 3/1 that does nothing new..
you can't be dissapointed when we saw only 6 cards, and interesting cards actually.. at least it isn't.. Ticking Abomination
dude how can you do any predictions at this point? theres 3 sets rotating out and 120 cards left to reveal. there basically is 0 point in making such a fuss yet...
Rush is the most important thing to happen in Hearthstone since the game launched. If you are disappointed in that, you need to sit down and think a little harder.

I remember KOFT's first 40 cards, they said it will be TGT 2.0 and it will fail miserably, it turned out to be one of the most successful expansions with alot of playable cards
I can understand the disappointment and frustration especially for players who have been around a while. I feel it too. Every expansion we want more mechanics and new archetypes. Blizzard has a few problems on their hands right now.
1. Players want something that feels completely new especially for the beginning of the new year. Blizzard has to appease their fans with every new expansion and 2 keywords which aren't entirely new seems underwhelming. I'm expecting about 10 rush cards and about 15-20 echo cards. That's around 20% of the 135 card pool. So what about the other 80%? I would have liked to see a third keyword.
2. They haven't done anywhere near a good enough job supporting older mechanics (outside of Battlecry, Deathrattle, and Discover). There is a void that just can't seem to be filled with the players' imaginations hence all the custom creations. What happened to 'enrage' minions? Where is our bad ass mech minion that could be great in wild mode and shake it up. I would like to see at least 5 'Inspire' minions since we now have Baku and Genn for support and maybe some 'Joust' to go with it.
3. Stop making filler cards! Every useless filler card we get represents a cool new type of card we miss out on. For example, many applauded when we got Tar Creeper out of Un'goro because it was a new type of minion. I was happy as well, but I kept asking myself "Why did it take so long? This should have been in the game since at least The Grand Tournament". It all adds to the feeling that changes are not coming fast enough. Now with so many 'Build your deck in this fashion' type cards, there shouldn't be any excuse for fillers going forward. Blizzard has improved in this area, but there is still a ways to go.

Don't mind me just passing by
Yah remember how in Un goro they showed off sherazin right away to showcase the dormant mechanic?
Oh...wait...they didn't.

Rush is charge without the smorc
Confirmed Original Poster is a face-player
Bakunter for next meta

Release the Kraken!
I wonder if any old cards will get the rush text added to them like charged devilsaur.
Wow an interesting way of putting Doomguard, might be nerfed at some point to rush, 2 cards discard charge
The goal of all life is death.
