Hmmm... play this turn 6 and then Spikeridged Steed? Maybe. This might see some play, but it looks kind of weak. It is tempting at 5 mana with Spikeridged Steed though.
It doesn't sound like the right flavor for a Death Knight, but possibly the new DK Paladin will give divine shields? That would make this and the weapon better late game.
Tarim looked meh as well to a lot of people but consider this. Say you have just ONE divine shield minion and bolvar on board. Trade, trade bolvar becomes a 5/7. Steed it turn 6 as usual and it becomes a 7/13. It has tremendous potential. This card will be good, mark my words.
Looks not great at first glance, but this is a card we really can't judge until we see the entire set. Between this and the blade, blizzard is clearly going to try and push a 'lose divine shield and gain bloodlust' deck, and it's success depends on what blizz gives to support this.
It all depends if we get better (and more) divine shield minions. It would take about two divine shields to make this card decent (5/7). Still, this card is hardly exciting.
Personally, I am a huge fanatic for Control Paladin. At the moment, this deck runs Tirion, (at least one tirion off of Stonehill), Wikceflame and will run 2 of that new 4 mana epic card. 5 mana 9/7 divine shield? Okay... I'm not totally sure how this works, but I could see this card seeing play. The artwork is epic though, I'll try, but it will probaly be the first card I cut.
I think card itself isnt looking good atm but with the upcoming cards i believe its going to be huge and for pally death knight im thinking smth like give you 1 of your minion divine shield so it can be huge thing with this cards
it can get silenced but overall the deck would be solid
Fun fact, when bolvar loses divine shield, he's already a 3/7. I think it's better than people think. The original bolvar wasn't bad, but it was difficult to play as a curve minion/tempo play. This card is generally a 5 mana 3/7 and has the same potential that the original had. Does that mean it makes the cut? I don't know, but don't write it off.
It all depends if the stats grow while he is in your deck or on in play. If its in play, jesus this is crap, The chances you have 2 divine shield minions on the board when you play Bolvar and the chances of him being alive by the start of your next turn is wishful thinking.
I wish the meta was slower so cards like this would work, but blizzard prefers the games to be over in under 2 minutes.
Pretty unplayable. In most cases I'd rather have blood knight, who is currently unplayed. The exception is having a few midrange to large divine shield cards like tirion around, which I'd say makes this too fair of a card to see play...
Any sorta dream of massive gains from a board full of divine shield tokens can mostly be replaced by a blood knight dream. I mean, obviously spending the divine shields is better then using them. But so is blood knights stats in general. So. Yeah.

Looks meh. Hope I don't open him.

Man the art is amazing!😍
Cassa!
Feels Bolvar man...
Honestly, the meme is the only strong aspect of this card.
Cabal Shadow Priest. Enough said.

The real question is Bolivar friendly to himself?
Edit: Bloodknight loves this card!
I guess this is what happens when they give you Sunkeeper Tarim in the latest set.
Hier gewinnt nur einer, St. Pauli und sonst keiner.
both bolvar and the weapon will start counting still in the deck, as c'thun and thing from bellow?
it gets a lot better if yes. in wild the have potential to be insane.
in standard, i think paladin will still need some hell in gettind divine shields.

What if the new Paladin hero power is 'Give a minion Divine Shield.' Would that make this card good?

I see potential and the art is 10/10
Remember paly does have adapt cards that could help and megasaur is still around with murlocs.
G=Good B=Bad Do you see the pattern? Every second expansion is always trash.
G: Goblins V Gnomes , Old Gods, unguro
B: TGT, gadgetzan, Knights (Unreleased so MAYBE)

Nope, I pass.
