This card actually seems alright. Baseline seems slightly better than a 5-mana 3/7, which isn't too bad, then attack scales on top of that. As of now I don't thing a deck built for it would be too great, but there's going to be more divine shield minions to reveal.
The biggest problem with the card is that even when it does work, it's really just a big minion without any other effect. Doesn't really have the same immediate effect on the board as do Tirion Fordring, Ragnaros, Lightlord, or Sunkeeper Tarim
This is AWESOME in Control Paladin. It demands an immediate response/answer, since it can otherwise snowball very easily.
If the opponent wastes tempo/resources on it, let it be - you have plenty of comeback tools and other big threats. If the opponent leaves it on the field, even playing a Argent Protector it's enough to make it worth.

When I first saw this I wasn't paying much attention and only noticed a pally legendary named bolvar with the same mana cost, same terrible stat line, and the gain attack when X happens text... almost reported for thread necro before I realized this wasn't THAT bolvar, and they've made the same terrible card twice. Thanks blizz.
This and the Warlock legend seem really sad. They're just like innately awful cards, with conditional upside that still isn't high enough to warrant their inclusion in a deck; esp. given they demand a certain type of deck.
In a vacuum it's a 1/7 Divine Shield for 5 (awful) that will become a 3/7 after it loses divine shield. You're ideal line is to like play this after you've done some combo with like some jank Stand Against Darkness + Steward of Darkshire but even then let's assume you get 5 triggers off it and have a turn 9 11/7 Divine Shield. That's still not even all that great for how unlikely that combo is as there are tons of ways to still just house that in the meta between decks running SpellbreakerShadow Word: DeathVilespine SlayerDevolve etc. I don't know, hard to be excited about this.
Well looks pretty shitty for now, but looking at the new paladin cards so far it's safe to assume they will gain some kind of new divine shield generator.
Okay, knowing now that it only activates when it's on the board, it sucks in control, which is all I care about. Dope art, could work with more cards, but doesn't work in control FeelsBadMan.
Holy shit, this is probably the best looking hearthstone card of all time! It's an insta craft in golden on looks alone and i have a feeling that it's going to be pretty playable as well.

So as an static effect this must be on the field when other minions lose the divine shield?
Then you dont know combos in this game.
Seems better than the last bolvar, but still just a big minion.
What I do see happen is that you play this by itself, let your opponent scratch his head, the next turn go Steward of Darkshire, 2x Lost in the Jungle, Blood Knight?
That's 10 surprise face damage an a 11/7 and 15/15 to deal with
Paladins already have an all star lineup of legendary minions, so another over the top addition is not really needed for now.
Release the Kraken!
ffs i cummed my pants when saw this goddest art, cant wait to see it in golden version
Does that mean that it gets the attack whenever it is,when it is in your hand or when it is in play?

Balancing busted cards version 1.0.
I dont think this card is that bad. At the very least it becomes 3/7 when it takes damage.

Why u hav to be mad? is only card gaem.
This is probably worse than the warlock legendary as of now. Wow.

this card has the potential to be op as fuck. I hope blizzard doesnt release some divine shield synergy in the next cards to support bolvar
I'm sure it will get played as often as Bolvar did.
