not quite straight up power creep, but practically. I can not think of a circumstance where mind vision is better, because generally opening hands are not going to have scary stuff so mind vision generally is bad as a turn one play, this is better though turn one in any deck you are playing this you will be playing the quest I assume, nonetheless it is a slightly worse card draw for a deck that will be minus one card in opening hand, so it is reasonably good.

Just fill your deck with one drops, that is creative deck design, right?
Shifting Shade jr. deathrattle priest will definitely be a thing......and I'm sure we will get more great deathrattle cards throughout this set......priest going to be broken in standard and unstoppable in wild......

When life gives you lemons, trade'em for limes and get some Coronas!
The difference between this and babbling book are very relevant and I feel that they are worth noting.
1) 1/1 bodies in priest are terrible. You dont have a ping or much of any damage based removals, so unlike in mage, the body is practically irrelevant. This drawback isnt as prevalent in wild with velens chosen, but definitely worth noting.
2) Battlecry>>> deathrattle for cheap draw effects with the exception of special synergies (raptor). Book alllows you to get your random spell instantaneously, cant be silenced, cant be potioned, etc.
3) Random mage spells are generally going to be more relevant than a single golem card, shield slams, deadly poisons, etc. This is of course meta dependent and in some matchups, a huge advantage, but there are a lot of useless pulls.
4) Priest is a win more class, when not running control obviously. As such, any tempo this card gives is a major plus. A 1/1 on turn 1 is a lot better than priests most popular turn 1 play: "Greetings", *end turn*.
5) This card has 2 obvious synergies, deathrattle and elemental, while book has only 1, battlecry. We dont know the value of elementals, but we do know that deathrattles and priests get along well. If nothing else, cheap deathrattles like this that also have added value will be important for standard to activate the priest quest early.
So what does this mean? It means we will have to wait and see.
I understand that people are focused on discussing how playable the card is, but maybe we should focus on how Team 5 really just doesn't care about skill-defining cards and matches. Early game RNG that requires no talent...You've knocked it out of the park again Blizzard

Or we could focus on how the people complaining about RNG all time don't actually understand Hearthstone at all.

The card is really very very good. With such cards Awaken the Makers will really be playable, even if not Tier 1. But the best part is it's good even without Awaken the Makers!

I peaked at Top 60 legend NA in December 2016, so I think I have a fairly reasonable understanding of the game.
I understand random effects can be fun and interesting, but I wish they would avoid making them competitively viable. While this card isn't as random as the likes of Swashburglar, I don't like seeing important, hard-fought matches being determined by elements of the game neither player has control over.
"Worse than Northshire so it won't see play" and "competes with the 1-drop slot with Northshire" is evaluating this card all wrong. Where you basically want to play this on turn 2 always, you want to play Northshire on a certain board state, which is not always turn 2. This card functions very differently, so it's a poor assessment to compare the two.
That said, 9.5/10 card. Very good, not broken, but will most definitely see play, maybe even in non Amara decks.

RNG is a fun mechanic that you should be prepared for, knowing every card in your opponent's deck isn't very fun. For example, when going against shaman you know every card since it will usually be jade. Also RNG increases the diversity and can sometimes give you an edge you need to get an advantage or catch up. Being free to play, steal and discover cards are huge since it allows us access to cards we might not have. Complaining about RNG, which is a game mechanic, is the same as complaining over what cards your opponent might or might not have put in their deck/hand you just don't know for sure.

Oh yeah time to sleeve up Herald Volazj. I'm beginning to think that the priest quest will be doable. Mistress, Loot Hoarder and this already occupy 6 slots and can be played before turn 5. Then you have Shifting Shade, Volazj and N'Zoth to outgrind your control opponent. Not a lot of room left after that though.

Since you're a f2p player who I'm assuming has not invested very much time into the game, it makes sense that we would have different philosophies on the game.
I can in no shape or form agree with the following statement however:
"Complaining about RNG, which is a game mechanic, is the same as complaining over what cards your opponent might or might not have put in their deck/hand"
The best players in the game are often times the best hand-readers. Narrowing down what your opponent has based on their mulligan, their manner of play, and the way they touch their cards is one of the most skill intensive aspects of the game, and is what defines great players from mediocre ones. Playing around 1 of (at a maximum) 25 cards from your deck is not a reasonable ask.

I use Herald Volazj in my Wild N'zoth Priest, and despite people shitting on the card, it turns out he's a better Baron Rivendare in the deck. Play him at the right time, and your board gets loaded with Sludge Belchers, Shifting Shades and Dark Cultists. With the reveal of this card, I am contemplating swapping out both of my Museum Curators in the deck for this.
Watching Rank 15's argue with Legend players is like watching Silver players telling Diamonds how to play League of Legends. Just stop. I know everyone likes to think they're a beautiful snowflake and their opinion is equally important, but rank does matter.
Personally, I think this kind of RnG is not too bad. It's not great but it's certainly better than a lot of RnG that's already in the game.
As far as the card goes, it'll be played in the new Priest. Quest, coin, this or Quest, this, 3-drop. At worst it will burn a turn from your opponent to eat a ping and give you some value, slowing down the game.
I think the quests make one drops in ghe deck awkward.. you would want to play this on turn 1 but you are playing the quest instead..
I haven't played priest in awhile, but I remember multiple games where I would hero power turn 2. Hard to judge this card, but it'll definitely be used in the new priest deck if the deck is viable.
