Fandral Staghelm is extremely overrated by people in my opinion. It could run away with the game, but the only 2 minions I could see being combo'd with him are DotC and AoW. Everything else is not THAT impactful. We will see.
On the other hand, Malkorok is the next underrated auto-include in control warrior. Called it! :)
Malkorok comes with a 2-3 mana penalty to his body, but any weapon you get allows you to impact the board on the same turn. It's not a Dr. Boom but good enough to slam down in most situations. Even Charged Hammer isn't that bad, a 2 damage ping is very useful in long matchups. Cursed Blade and Light's Justice suck, but you have the same chance of getting a free Gorehowl or Gladiator's Longbow.
Huhuran will make Feign Death Hunter a thing in wild.
Fandral, Volazj and Cho'Gall are average quality, but they will become more powerful over time as new cards are released that work well with their abilities.
Hmmm... I don't know about Anomalus. I've been thinking about why they decided to make such a card - and my guess is that with Freeze Mage being left untouched by the nerfs, they seem to push Freeze Mages into that direction. To me, it feels like a card that was made for being a super board clear for Freeze Mages.
But then again, I could be completely wrong because it is an expensive minion.
#7. Malkorok (I believe this card will become stronger once next year comes - Because Cursed Blade will cease to exist. :P) #8. Anomalus #9. Herald Volazj
Malkorok is like Shieldmaiden: bulky minion hard to remove with a decent Battlecry effect. Fits nicely a very specific niche of control, Reno or fatigue warrior.
I think princess huhuran isn't as good as N'Zoth but if you put a deck together that uses both it would be amazing. The list is just missing N'Zoth i think maybe one of the best they made plus Emperor.
Alright, i'll bite and put down my rankings and see what happens in a few months to see how wrong I was.
The Top 4 are in no particular order: Ragnaros, Lightlord - I can see this card in all non-aggro Paladin lists for the next two years, it is just a fantastic ability to sustain you.
Then you have 4 alright ones: Cho'gall - Once a good working Handlock or Renolock deck gets made, this guy will rise up in value but until then with Zoo running rampant, he isn't great currently.
Malkorok - Again, waiting on the right deck to fit him, just not enough space in C'Thun Control but perhaps in non-C'Thun or Patron he might show up as gaining another weapon and a body is alright.
Herald Volazj - Waiting on either a spell damage burst deck of some type, or in a N'Zoth, the Corruptor Deathrattle list as when they are summoned by his Battlecry they have full stats.
Hallazeal the Ascended - Has been tried in Midrange and Control but I have seen him dropped from some lists already as really cool ability but doesn't fit right now.
So that leaves the single really bad one: Anomalus - Well... thank goodness we have Archmage Antonidas, otherwise no Mage class legendary would be played at all.
Fandral Staghelm, Ragnaros, Lightlord. Both have very powerful effects. Ragnaros makes control/midrange pally extremely resillent. Fandral effects on choose minions is pretty sweet but he makes your choose spells OP. These legendaries will take over the game if left uncheck.
My own personal list would probably go along like this:
1. Fandral Staghelm. I've yet to play WITH this dude, but I've had him played against me often enough to know just how devastating it can be for him to be left alive.
2. Ragnaros, Lightlord. People underestimating this card must simply be morons. An 8/8 for 8 is already nothing to sneeze at, and the continuos healing effect means that you, or him, will basically never die. He's worse with more minions on board, but he's a control tool, and they rarely have more than 2 or 3.
3. Princess Huhuran. Big bug is a good bug. A 5 mana 6/5 is alright, definitely on the more aggressive side, but the battlecry can possibly be devastating if it hits the right target (Hint, Sylvanas Windrunner) and even if it hits something mediocre, it's still gonna be a BIG tempo swing.
4. Xaril, Poisoned Mind. Awesome card for Tempo rogue, awesome card for miracle rogue, awesome card for Deathrattle rogue. There's no rogue deck (Maybe aggro) That this card doesn't fit into, yet it's still very balanced, good job blizz.
5. Hallazeal the Ascended Honestly yet to see this do ANYTHING whatsoever. It seems good on paper however.... Maybe, maybe
6. Cho'gall. It seemed so good! Until you realized that the warlocks selection of spells are limited at best. You COULD play this turn seven, pay 7 mana and an additional 8 health to play twisting nether...... Or you could just wait a turn. Maybe in the future we'll get some new spells that this guy can interact with, but currently..... no.
7. Malkorok I'd rather play any other competitive weapon than I'd play this. Gorehowl is in most cases just a better play, as it's guaranteed value, rather than getting Tentacles for Arms, or even worse Cursed Blade.
8. Herald Volazj. Quite simply doesn't fit any existing Priest archetype. Maybe there are some combos with Deathrattles to be had, but that's aiming fairly high for a card so low to the ground.
9. Anomalus. Why? It's literally impossible to activate this card on the same turn, which means it's dictated by your opponent, which makes it bad
Malkorok: Don't let "random" fool you. Much like how "discover" was underestimated, Malkorok is pure value. He may actually even be better value than Huhuran.
1 - Fandral Staghelm : You just need one mana Idol for this card get value. I can't see druid not playing this card (both wild and standard)
2 - Ragnaros, Lightlord : Works very well in control paladin, more than the normal one. If don't see play is because the meta got too fast...
3 - Hallazeal the Ascended : It is good, not aggro and I love cards that forces the opponent to remove it ASAP.
4 - Xaril, Poisoned Mind : Is good, but for me is not a staple. Rogue already have very good 4 drops. In wild is even less playable, IMO.
5 - Malkorok : Too much RNG for me. Can be good in standard, until warrior find a better 7 drop. In wild is not playable at all. 6 - Princess Huhuran : I'm still not sold on this one. Is good, but not even close to meta defining.
7 - Cho'Gall : Meh results until now, I guess will be forgotten very soon.
8 - Anomalus : Maybe in some reno decks, but even there is not good enough...
9 - Herald Volazj : Too gimmicky. Is the only card I didn't saw play at all until now. Maybe I will be wrong on this one...
Yeah I agree, but this was pre-testing so I will edit my post now ;)
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
What is Hearthstone to you? A fun and semi-competitive game with wacky effects and crazy RNG outcomes or just a card game you wanna grind as many wins you can get as fast as possible in?
1.) Fandral Staghelm - If you don't think this guy is insane, you've never seen him used, or just don't know Druid. Especially for the cost, his effect is absurd and even getting 1 or 2 choose cards played after he hits the board can be enough to secure you the positioning you need to win. HIs body is fine on top of that. There's no reason not to use this card if you're playing a Druid deck of any type.
2.) Hallazeal the Ascended -pretty self explanatory, a crazy good effect in a class that (thanks to overload) can pile on insane spell damage the same turn he's played. He's only not #1 because he's slightly more conditional than Fandral Staghelm.
3.) Ragnaros, Lightlord - Pally really needed a good legendary since all they have to work with is arguably the best class legendary in the game. And sure enough, this thing is insane. Even if you only get one turn with him, he's a good value, and if you play him out onto an entirely empty board, there is almost no way to remove him if you don't have any hard removal in hand.
4.) Herald Volazj - the most underrated card in the set. Herald Volazj is frankly an amazing card, and I have never regretted his presence anytime i've drawn him. Even if you're only using him to baby-clone a single Shifting Shade (which you can do in one turn), his value is absurd. In a properly tuned Deathrattle Priest you use him to bolster the effectiveness of N'Zoth, the Corruptor, on top of his own abilities. I hate putting him down this far on the list, but since the top 3 are at relatively peak efficiency just being in a deck, whereas Herald Volazj needs to have some design considerations to get top value, I feel this is where he belongs.
5.) Xaril, Poisoned Mind - terrible stats, but double toxins is nice. Those things are great for Rogue right now, and in a Deathrattle Rogue, you have Unearthed Raptors and N'Zoth, the Corruptor to get more toxins through him. Pretty much exactly in the middle of the pack, it's all downhill from here.
6.) Malkorok - Maybe I've just gotten lucky, but I am always getting good weapons from this guy. However, even when you only get a lousy weapon, it's still a big body and a free weapon. Decent value most of the time, unless you're playing a super weapon heavy deck already. Fits nicely into fatiguey control decks, just about average value elsewhere.
7.) Princess Huhuran - hilarious name, meh card (say it out loud and don't giggle I dare you). Solid body for the cost, and a free Deathrattle trigger is nice. Sadly, the deck I was most excited about using her in has been pretty badly neutered with the removal of Baron Rivendare and Feign Death, meaning she's got nowhere to really shine. Still has some usefulness, but is just a little less useful than Malkorok.
8.) Cho'gall - he'll probably get better down the line, but at this point in time, his average stats make him not really worth playing. I have yet to see someone use him to great effect, though I've read plenty of theory. I expect that theoretical decks will be the ones most using him in the future.
9.) Anomalus - Basically a worse version of Chillmaw, why would anyone play this card? The only class legendary from this set I would outright say is a bad card.
EDIT/PS: All of these rankings are for Standard only. However, for Wild, I would move Princess Huhuran to #2, and keep it otherwise the same.
my top 3 good legendaries :
- Princess Huhuran
- Xaril, Poisoned Mind
- Fandral Staghelm
good effect, good mana cost :D
my top 3 bad legendaries :
- Anomalus
- Malkorok
- Cho'gall
we hate negative effects :)

Anyway -
#1. Ragnaros, Lightlord
#2. Hallazeal the Ascended (That insane synergy of Elemental Destruction and the new minion that unlocks overloaded mana crystals. Huge.)
#3. Princess Huhuran
#4. Xaril, Poisoned Mind (Just like most Rogue Cards, the niche is not easy to use - I believe it'll be experimented with though.)
#5. Cho'Gall
#6. Fandral Staghelm
#7. Malkorok (I believe this card will become stronger once next year comes - Because Cursed Blade will cease to exist. :P)
#8. Anomalus
#9. Herald Volazj

Ragnaros, Lightlord - I can see this card in all non-aggro Paladin lists for the next two years, it is just a fantastic ability to sustain you.
Xaril, Poisoned Mind - Like good old Edwin VanCleef, can fit in pretty much any Rogue deck but amazing in Miracle.
Princess Huhuran - Hunter has some really good Deathrattle cards available to them, including their best class "legendary" Savannah Highmane.
Fandral Staghelm - I underrated this card and then got wrecked by him so re-evaluated. Wrath, Living Roots, Druid of the Claw and Mire Keeper are all seeing lots of play right now, you don't even have to go hunting for stuff like Nourish, Ancient of War, Raven Idol and other choose cards to make him good.
Then you have 4 alright ones:
Cho'gall - Once a good working Handlock or Renolock deck gets made, this guy will rise up in value but until then with Zoo running rampant, he isn't great currently.

Don't read this...
Anomalous isn't that bad. He isn't worth the craft but he fits well in reno decks.
No particular order on tiers
Fandral Staghelm, Ragnaros, Lightlord. Both have very powerful effects. Ragnaros makes control/midrange pally extremely resillent. Fandral effects on choose minions is pretty sweet but he makes your choose spells OP. These legendaries will take over the game if left uncheck.
Xaril, Poisoned Mind, Princess Huhuran. Very powerful cards on their own right, but needs something else to get the most out of them.
Cho'gall, Hallazeal the Ascended, Herald Volazj, Malkorok These cards are potentially strong but doesn't fit current go to decks of their respective classes.
Anomalus has very limited use.
T1 Swagnaros an 8/8 healbot that can win the game on its own or make tirion stick later
Poison Lizard is good value fits everything the class does
T2 Malkorok is just good tempo but it can lose you the game every 15 games against many decks
T3 the unproven but good on paper schrodinger Hunter guy shaman guy
t4 cho gall ehh I guess
t5 the taunt less board clear and the bad version of a rogue epic for obvious reasons
1 - Fandral Staghelm : You just need one mana Idol for this card get value. I can't see druid not playing this card (both wild and standard)
