I'm not asking if you want them to, I'm asking if you think they will: Big Game Hunter
As the released cards stand, I actually don't think they will touch that card. I don't like that, but I am getting that feeling so far.
I'm looking at some cards in particular: The Boogeymonster. This is a piece of garbage. But you know what could possibly prompt them to print a big minion with 6 Attack? To dodge BGH. Who would play this with Gruul as a classic set alternative? What is the big difference between those two cards? The advantage?
Take a look at some other newly released minions that just barely dodge BGH (seemingly on purpose, with mana costs exceeding their statline): Hogger, Doom of Elwynn, Ancient Shieldbearer, N'Zoth the Corruptor, C'Thun (yeah, he gets buffed, I get it), Soggoth the Slitherer. Cards like this seem like they're just barely dodging BGH, implying that it'll still be a thing.
Also, some classes would just really appreciate some removal. Priests, Warriors, Mages, Shamans and Warlocks have no problem, but classes like Rogue and Paladin would really have trouble. Yes, they have Assassinate and Keeper of Uldaman, but even those are a bit tricky as hard removal (one is overcosted, the other requires external damage). Hunters I don't have much of an opinion on since they do have some of the best removal in the game, but the whole aggro thing stopped them from developing any sort of board-centric playstyle. And druids are going to have to start using cards like Naturalize and Mulch I suppose, but since those haven't seen much play I can't speak to their viability.
And take a look at some BGH targets released. They all have some sort of immediate effect, none of them are minions you drop for delayed value: Ragnaros, Lightlord, Cho'gall, Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound, Yogg-Saron, Hope's End, Skeram Cultist. They work with BGH in the meta because they have value even if immediately removed. Of course, I can't say anything about Giant Sand Worm, but it's a beast so it's a bit more of a wildcard.
And some cards are just nods to BGH tactics. They put in a Corrupted Healbot to play a big thing for cheap without being immediately hard removed. Also, Validated Doomsayer is a bit of a 'well, you can smash everything into it immediately. But if not? Pull out the BGH!'.
They said in an article awhile back (scroll down on the hearthpwn main) that they're looking at BGH, which almost absolutely means it's getting the nerfhammer. Based on Blizzard's past nerfs it will just get its stats redone into oblivion and finito.

I'm just another one of those. You know, those who do things. Things that need to be done by those that do these things in order to do those things that don't do these things themselves. Has the word 'things' lost meaning to you already?
Then why all of this dancing around his mechanic? So many 6 attack minions here and there? It seems to me like they need some sort of neutral card that acts as hard removal for all classes. Big game hunter is the only one that does that.
The issue is if you play a tech card you lose stats. He only losses 1 health from a vanilla minion, big deal specially when the tech he is for is almost in every deck.
Like kezan mystic losses 2health compared to a yeti and is only for secrets. Harrison Jones losses 2 health compared to pit fighter and is only for weapons.
They will change as little as possible to lower the dust effect as much as possible (they want you to buy the x-pac's not construct the key cards you want, and changing too many rare+ cards will give alot of dust to the players giving them the ability to create what they want
The impact of nerf dust on overall pack sales is negligible - game balance is far more important in protecting long-term profitability.

You would not need to ask me, cuz I wouldn't know either. I was just making a prognosis based on past experiences *coughStarvingBuzzardcough*.
But, if you ask me, I'd say the answer is not in nerfing BGH, but in making more BGHs for different mana costs combating different stats (but keep the amount low, because class cards still need to be better). Right there there is one universal tech card for everything control: have three and suddenly you need to choose which tech suits your deck best (and can improve your matchup). It also would get rid of the design space limitation: with multiple limitations you can always choose to ignore some and follow others creating an equal power level across everything.

I hope to God(pun intended) they nerf BGH to oblivion. The poll results are encouraging, BGH defenders are vastly outnumbered.

Edwin VanCleef still sees play even though he no longer has stealth
Battle Rage is still used even though you no longer draw for enemy damaged characters too
I assume Edwin and Battle Rage were very old ones (alpha? closed beta?), because I wasn't around back then (I was pre-naxx open beta). If you can link me with Undertaker and Gadgetzan Auctioneer decks that would be appreciated, because I don't know of any, nor have I ever seen them (competitively) since way back. UtH and Leeroy, those still see play, I agree on those. Also, remember Soulfire? Or Flare? Haven't seen those either (except maybe flare once or twice)

Big Game Hunter is not the only neutral that acts as hard removal. The Black Knight, Rend Blackhand? These are healthy, they require a specific meta (taunt) or deck type (dragons). They can be a significant tempo swing but there's a price for putting them into your deck, however Big Game Hunter has almost no drawback for having it in your deck and is a WAY bigger tempo swing.
"[All classes] need some sort of neutral card that acts as hard removal" - That's exactly the kind of thinking that makes the game the bland and diluted, filled with mostly neutral cards. It's apparent from the cards we've seen from the new expansion so far that Blizzard wants to walk away from general-purpose neutral cards (Dr. Boom, Antique Healbot) and they couldn't have made a better choice IMO.
All classes except Paladin have hard removal and even they have Aldor Peacekeeper and Keeper of Uldaman. People just have to leave behind the idea that they can use neutral cards as general-purpose tools, and start looking to class cards.

yeah those are old. Gadgetzan Auctioneer saw play in miracle rogue after Tomb Pillager was released, it's niche and because of prep+sprint isn't necessary, but it is here and there and has it's pros.
soulfire saw play as a one-of in malylock
flare still sees play and was nerfed for the same reason people want bgh nerfed, it is too good in match-ups where it isn't a tech card and the swing you get for landing his effect is way too strong for him to be so good if you don't.
i honestly don't hate BGH despite loving big minions cause i understand the feeling of being overwhelmed as a noob vs. ragnaros but his stats should be lowered or his mana cost should increase so that you get punished hard vs. non 7-attack decks like Eater of Secrets, Kezan Mystic and Harrison Jones
edit: also idk where that guy got Undertaker being played from, but 1 mana cards are hard to balance imo, so i'm not surprised it got the wrath of the nerf hammer. it's either too strong or not strong enough
I'd up the mana cost to about 6 like the Black Knight to reduce the amount of tempo loss. Currently you can BGH Dr Boom then play your own Dr Boom. That's too much of a tempo swing.
With the crazy powerful big minions they have revealed so far it points to blizzard doing the sensible thing and leaving bgh alone rather than listen to the small brained short sighted ignorant crybabies.

And I get it, rogues can just deal tons of damage with Eviscerate and Backstab etc. 'they don't need hard removal'. I can see your point. But new cards like Blood of The Ancient One (never mind The Ancient One himself), Y'Shaarj, Rage Unbound, and a buffed C'Thun just prove to be completely unreasonable to just deal damage to.

make him a 4/2 for 4mana or a 3/1 for 3mana.

Wants to play Captain Cookie Druid because why not?

3 mana 4/2: your minions with 7 or more attack have +1 Attack.
They've outright said in interviews that BGH is a problematic card and limits design space so they'll probably completely change the effect.
I'm sure they said somewhere gaints are going to be a problem and they are only going to be a problem if BGH gets nerfed so surely they will.

my belief is they'll keep the ability, but just up the mana cost by a point or two.
if you take away his ability you'd have to change his name.
They actually pretty much said outright in an interview, "we're gonna nerf BGH". Chill.

100% they will, otherwise their new 10-mana fancy cards cannot see a daylight...
