So, this one is pretty good. It's RNG heavy so Spike need not apply, but still big fun for others. After last week's big money, high stakes, event Kudos to the Blizz for a brawl where you just push Brawl and go. Save removal and look for outside the box plays. One big thing to note is the summon mechanic. The summoned minion occurs before the spell chain is evaluated. For instance Bolster will bolster the summoned minion if it has taunt, but Poison Seeds will leave nothing but an extra 2/2 Treant (I looked, it killed my Silvermoon Guardian before it even hit the board). Watch out for 2 mana spells and the dreaded Doomsayer - if you have a big board, refrain from 2 drops.
it smooths out the game and makes everything quicker.
So randomness and playing fast is more important than decision making for card games?
4Head
I was specifically commenting on the interrupt suggestion. That will add a ton of dead time to games. Length will be doubled at least and most of that sitting there wondering if you opponent is actually thinking or just not paying attention.
For card games designed to be played online with random people (which Hearthstone is) playing outside your turn is just going to make the game slower and more frustrating for must players. That is why the entire secret system exists.
So the big issue is it is primarily adding dead time not good time.
The second part is that game length is important for a lot of casual players. Most Hearthstone players don't sit there for several hours playing games, they will hop in play a few games and then go do something else. Hearthstone's game length is great for just fitting a game in here or there.
Great brawl. I finished my shaman quest (play overload cards), priest quest (play priest cards) AND rogue quest (win 3 times) at the same time! Super efficient!
Anyway this is kind of a fine casual brawl. Probably the second best kinds because no one can really solve it in like 20 minutes like the "build a deck" ones.
Still not as good as COOP sadly. COOP brawls, the last place where skill matters in hearthstone lol
The vast majority of these games are so fucking one-sided, it's incredibly unpleasant, regardless of whether you're the one with the good or the bad RNG.
Lost 5 games to this RNG fest and somehow managed to win the 6th one... RNG Gods were obviously pleased by my persistence so they rewarded me with golden Ragnaros.
Also, great chance to get major Rogue levels - golden basics and such. Don't pass it up - there is plenty of intense play despite the RNG naysayers. Think about it - if you aren't that great a player yet then you likely don't know what your opponent may have anyway. How is that any different than RNG? Take this chance to improve your ability to react and evade. Besides the rogue mirror intro is so choice, what a face-off.
Edit: Look at the post above, great rewards await your persistence.
I hope all the casual players are happy with this no-skill-required RNG brawl for the week. No, really I do. Competitive players had a blast with the heroic brawl last week and now it's everyone else's turn to have some fun.
Complaints when the brawl is the same as constructed last week
Complaint when the brawl is "RNG fest" this week
Complaint when theres' top 2/3 because everyone netdecks...
wtf do you people want? If it's based on collection, then it's LOL pay 2 win, if it's similar to constructed/meta, it's boring, if it's fresh and creative and forces players to adapt and play based on the current game, then its' an RNG fest. you can't win with these things.

1st one - I think this is legitimate - most player that would like a tournament would enjoy a brawl where they actually have to think about the meta.
2nd one - Yeah I agree.... It's not RNG when you win or lose 10 times in a row - sure RNG is involved, but if every "totally RNG" brawl you lose more than you win, you are just a worse player than half the field. Sorry, not sorry.
3rd one - More salty complainers who don't know how to adjust to meta.

I don't find this to be the case. The game goes back and forth a couple times and usually it just comes down to who got the more AOE spells. There's so many of them that the board gets wiped like 5 times per game, it's next to impossible to have a solid board that holds for any number of turns, unless you get extremely lucky.
The problem I find is that all games end with just a bunch of burst damage, which is just hearthstone's main design flaw anyway. You can't block except with taunt to every grindy game eventually ends when one player fails to remove enough of the other's board so he takes 10 free face damage, or one player accumulates enough burst damage spell in hand to end it. Kind of lame, but business as usual.
seriously it's not that hard to win 1.
