Not everyone will agree with me but i just have to say this. After they revealed all the cards from the new expansion i feel it isn't enough to make a change in standard format. It has been a while now since the pre-launch, and I'm watching tons of theorycrafting streams, and what i see there is just not enough power level in most of these decks that are being created, beside the new shaman quest (which is just broken af) to compete with the current metadecks. Everything else feels the same: mage(freeze|burn), rogue(tempo), warlock(zoo), priest(buff|otk). The fact that the standard format overall doesn't have that much card pool to maneuver makes this expansion less appealing and almost the same as the current meta. Highlander decks are dead because they have too much inconsistency in them, in standard. I know there is a lot of time before people will figure something out but i'm just worried it won't bring nothing fresh to the game. It's funny how being at blizzard hq, streamers don't say any word of how old metadecks will compare to the new (theorycrafted) ones. I think we all know the answer, bomb warrior, mech hunter, mech paladin and conjurer mage, and maybe new quest shaman thing will still prevail if you want a fast and good ladder experience. So all in all i'm very disappointed in the newest expansion and i thought it will make me come back to standard but for now i'd rather stick to wild format. In fact, i'm sure many people will switch formats after the official release just because there is more versatility in wild.
it might be true. But quest druid is pretty nuts too. Plus zoolock is back, warlock class was dead all last expansion. 3 new decent decks is not bad for an expansion, compare it with rastakhan, it only provided zul'jin. Also there are a lot more fun decks to try with the new cards. About the highlander cards and some other specific cards I can only say: thanks for buffing my wild decks lol. (but conjure's mage power is here to stay and it's sad)
The new 3/2 highlander minion give me some hope to get work, the only thing this expansion can bring to make things much more interesting is extremely good techs vs mechs and bombs, something give highlander decks a chance vs them, without that we will see only bomb warriors and mech hunters kill every possibility of a more diverse meta.
It is really that hard? Just a 2/3 minion for 2, battlecry "Silence and destroy an enemy mech" and a 2 manas 2/3 battlecry "Remove all bombs from your deck, give 5 damage for the opponent for each bomb removed this way".
i wouldn't judge an expansion just by the look of the cards. Wait for the meta to shape or just enjoy the madness at the beginning where everyone tries something new.
I would prefer 2/3 for 2 mana, battlecry: if the enemy hero has 7 or more armor, destroy the enemy hero.
That’s the core issue right?
Dr Boom( the Herocard) is so powerful, a friend thought in a month we see no new cards in Warrior besides maybe the 2 drop. This doesn’t seem unrealistic to me, since Mechs with Boom are super strong, but Iksar already said they would change Dr Boom if he stays that dominant....
So we could see a patch that changes more than the expansion.

It's certainly possible that Boom still applies too much pressure on and centralizes the metagame.
But the Quests give a lot of classes a lot of ways to catch up that they didn't have last format. Personally, I think we kind of need to let that play out a bit first.
We may find ourselves in a metagame where Warrior is merely 1 of many hero power decks...which btw is my least favorite type of metagame, but at least these quest hero powers appear to be less oppressive. (Although, I think a few have potential to become problematic).
I disagree. The power level of the coming expansion seems pretty high, and I'm looking forward with great interest to opening and playing the new cards and building new decks.
In RoS pre-release/theorycrafting, only deck that streamers correctly predicted was unrefined version Bomb Warrior, which is quite obvious since Blizzard forced that archetype. Cyclone-Conjurer mage took at least a month to figure out.
You can't come to any conclusions about the meta by watching theorycrafting or pre-release streams.
I'm just afraid that a few decks (Mech Aggro Hunter, Bomb Warrior and Cyclone Mage) will remain exactly the same with 0 new cards and still be very strong. But I also have hope that over powerfull decks can rise and bring some variety to the format.
And even if they end up not being strong enough, at least they'll bring something we didn't have this exp : fun things to build around. Right now if you just wanna play something fun there's not a lot of options (pogo rogue ? that's it). With all those quests, certainly a lot of them will be bad, but at least it gives some fun build-around ideas. Same thing with the reno-decks, I always loved to build singleton decks and play them, even if they're not strong.
I think like all expansions you'll get quite a few interesting decks coming out. My biggest worry is ROS introduced bomb warrior, but with the new Shaman quest, its easy to make a Quest Shaman Bomb. Feels like standard ladder is going to be littered with Bomb- Shaman/Warriors
I am having a blast! The meta has not settled yet and the deck I'm playing is both winning and losing against all classes. Very balanced so far. I'm a happy player!
I think that adding new crab would make a huge difference. When pirate warrior was OP they added crab that gained +1/+1 after destroying a pirate. How about something similar? A 2 or 3 mana drop that destroys a mech and gains some stats? In my opinion that would make a change and would be pretty balanced while fighting with all those mech hunters and bomb warriors :p

Ok
Time will tell. One things for sure, I'll have fun finding out (i.e. playing the game) if you're right or wrong.
Serious question: is this your first CCG? This is how set rotation works.

By the way. This is not how any text should be written.
At least you have to split your story into separate parts to make it visually appeal to be read, otherwise one does not want to read it.
Single Wall of Text looks awful.
Expansion ain’t even out yet
This. SO MUCH this.
Shut yer whine-hole, OP. At least give it a chance before telling us how disappointed you are.
