The PVE mode is fun for me i like games that have dungeon runs.
The PVP mode sadly is not fun. I opened around 10 merc packs. I won one or 2 PVP games at first. I am the lowest rank btw. After that I can't seem to win a game.
All the people I play against have heroes around the same lvls but their abilities are maxed out. So they do double the damage I do ....
So have most of you who play this mode bought a lot of packs to upgrade abilities or what?
Feels like Mercs is a PvE mode with PvP tacked on afterward.
The way its designed will definitely give advantage to anyone who plays more or spends more... so really it's not going to be fun unless you're maxed out, too.

I'd ignore PvP entirely, in my opinion...
Yea that's what im doing :) the thing is Blizzard team said in their post about Mercs that they Developed an all New PVP Algorithm so that is matches players with exact skill and lvls ....So I guess that was BS...

That is BS indeed. When I started PVP with my comp, I won all upto 5k rating. From there on onward I haven't won a single game in the past 40 games anymore. Not a single. If I were that bad I 1) shouldn't have been able to climb to 5k and 2) should be matched to worse opponents by now after 40 games. I'm not going to attempt game 41 anymore. It's a complete joke.
It's through the PvP they want to hook you into spending on packs, and its for a mode that just isn't very good anyway...
It's very much like Dungeons Runs (which we nearly all put some time in to and had fun with) Vs Duels (which we nearly all played a couple of rounds of and never touched again). The two play out much the same way, but one is fun and the other is not. Mercenaries seems to be the same way.
Devs across the games industry (not just Blizzard) have been grappling with a way to create PvP and monetize it - it seems they can't do it. No matter the genre, or gameplay. Sure there are some suckers out there who will buy into a game a while that is that way, especially on the mobile platform, but for the vast majority the playing field has to be level. Or at worst, give out all rewards to create a level playing field without an obnoxious amount of grinding as an inferior. This is especially true if you expect your game to be a success on cosoles or PC, and not mobile.
While constructed is bad that you tend to play the same 5 decks, this is actually worse that you are playing against the same 10 cards. Even if they took away the grinding and let people more easily craft everything this would still be basically the same with the same problems. They forgot to add variety and the matches are too quick to feel good, win or lose.
I played some PvP today as I realized it is (a) the best way to level weak heroes and (b) worth grinding to 10 wins each day as you open a chest after 1 win then again after 2 more, 3 more, 4 more etc...
They say that they try to match you with a comp of similar strength in terms of both hero levels and abilities. I have a WR of aorund 50% vs human opponents so far so I feel like this is kind of true. The main thing is that most of the time you wait for 2+ minutes in the queue and then get paired with a bot so it's not really PvP. On the plus side, bots tend to be easy wins if you know a bit what you are doing
In PVP there are long queues and the majority of opponents have multiple unlockables. My conclusion is that most people aren't into it, or are scared of it.
In any case, it looks like the majority of F2P or low paying players did not get into the PVP part of it yet and the only ones there are the whales.
Even if you get matched against people with same level team, even if you get matched against people with non-maxed out stats like yourself, there is this thing called synegy. Humans buff, orcs, shadow, arcane or nature spell damage, these all require you to have a very particular set of 6 from the available pool of 51... If you did not preorder, chances are high that you don't have this synergy, and just throw together a random team of 6 on the ladder. Not much different from putting bloodfen raptor in your decks by default back in the day, instead of a synergy card. And that means the players will eat you alive. What I also noticed is that you need so many more resources to build a mercs team than to build an actual competitive deck (everyone should be able to craft a tier 1 deck at least for free).
Remember that you vote with your wallet. If you spent anything on mercenaries, it does not matter that you come here to complain. You just told Blizzard their pricing and policy are fine and that they should keep doing what they are doing.
Although I do think if you want to be top of the ladder you're gonna have to spend to get all the "best" characters maxed out, if you just want to play pvp for fun against people of the same skill you should be fine. After all they did implement a complex matchmaking system but I also think people forget that it came out 3 days ago so it's kinda reasonable that it's not working perfectly (imo)
Meanwhile, the obviously paid xskarma is already desperately preparing to hype us up for the upcoming competitive eSports Mercs scene by spamming articles about PvP prize money Tournaments, which nobody cares or asked for.
Damn, why am I even still here ? Just to suffer...

You could do us all a genuine favour and leave... Just sayin'
You don't PVP if your character isn't maxed out, or be ready to get annihilated, that's a rule in every game.
It's like going in Wild with only classic cards, what do you expect ?
It's not pay to win. It's pay to win faster. Whatever they are able to do in mercs PVP today with money, you can do it in a few days for free. I only bought the welcome bundle and I already have multiple legendaries that are nearly maxed out.
Then YOU will beat pay to win teams with your free to play team, and your opponent will feel cheated like you do now, and you won't feel bad for him, so I don't feel bad for you, get good and grind some more.
Mercenaries is a total pay to win or grind to win mobile game trash. I constantly face all the maxed out, high end, bought, legendary cards and get anihilated. I am sad I wasted 1500 gold on packs.

Anyone else finds PVP bad or it is just me?
How about no? I played PvP only with Xyrella, Dawngrasp, Cariel, her father, samuro and tavish. All rares and the most you get for free. No P2W there. Just grind the first few heroic barrens and you are good to go.
Also guys mercs is a PvE experience and not for PvP players like a few pointed out. No shame in just leaving it be.

The problem is that even as a solely PvE mode the experience is profoundly hampered by the p2w aspects of the PvP mode. Once you get the heroes you want to level 30 progression crawls to a stop as coins are given out a rate designed to "encourage" you to buy them in a packs. And getting the heroes you want is quite the grind as well.

PvP feels pay2win to me and PvE.. well.. I dont really have motivation for the PvE content, it just feels grindy n repetitive

The ladder will become more populated when casuals, people who play like 5 hours per week, will complete the PVE campaign
