I am curious, even as a long time player i am still missing 5 legendaries for a complete Classic collection. With the upcoming changes, we will no longer get classic packs from tavern brawls. I have hoarded brawl packs last 6 months, so have about 20 packs to open after rotation. Which means with extreme luck i might get 2 or 3 legendaries from those packs, but most likely 1.
So, how about you guys, how many of you have a complete classic set, and those who don't, how close are you?
Hmm. I think I am like you. Several epics (mostly nerfed ones I DEd) and about as many legends, again mostly nerfed ones and trash ones.
I have almost all the cards that matter for the upcoming Classic mode which is what's important in the end. Think only ones I lack are Molten Giant which I DEd once they were nerfed and they will be easily replaced. That is why I DE any card that gets nerfed and which I won't immediately need as a matter of course, those 800 dust were doing useful work for me between the time of the nerf and now. It lets you liquidate the value of a card with no loss which is amazing in this game, even if you end up recrafting it like I will.
Also funnily enough back when everyone was crafting Golden Silv and Ragnaros as they were about to go bye bye into Hall of Fame I didn't have to, I pulled them in Golden randomly before that. And the extra funny bit? Never was under enough pressure to DE them. I also randomly have a Golden Geddon. I will look like a whale wallet warrior when you see me in Classic :D
Can I ask why exactly you're saving your classic packs until after the new year?
It makes sense for a few people, but probably not people like this.
They're adding the Hall of Fame stuff back to Classic which means Sylvanas and Rag will be in them again, along with a few lower rarity cards. So if you don't have Sylv or Rag but you have everything else, keeping those packs is a good idea. Otherwise it's pretty much useless

+ you will be able to open Legendary Murloc and Epic Parrot cards in the New Year. So you SHOULD hoard the Classic packs if you are missing those as well

yeah i miss the murloc and parrots + molten giants, thats why i am waiting to open them
It only took me 5 years to get A Hungry Crab but the pack opening rule change finally got me a pair. Prolly wont finish but will only end 3 legendary short.

That's nothing, I must have opened 100-200 Classic Packs, maybe even more, and never got Mana Wraith. Well I got it after duplicate protection was a thing but before that it was the only rares I lacked and I lacked them for soooo long. :P

Yeah before duplicate rule i was missing 1 Emperor Cobra for years and years.
I'm missing 12 legendaries, and I just recently got my last epic (the second Bestial Wrath). I've been playing more or less since 2016, and opened around 400 Classic packs so far. Over the time, I got 4 duplicates and there were some long stretches of bad droprates, but I also never crafted a Classic. Also, the 3 added legendaries threw me back a little bit.
Since I intend to play Classic Mode as well, it bothers me somewhat that I'm still missing some of the ones that were good/decent at the time, like Cairne Bloodhoof, The Black Knight, but more importantly Alexstrasza, Bloodmage Thalnos and Lord Jaraxxus. So, I might end up crafting some of them, though it also depends on whether Classic cards that are part of the Core set will also be useable in Classic Mode (since the Classic versions are technically not different cards, and tied to the normal versions).
If I keep having enough Gold, I might buy a few Classic/Legacy packs here and there and finish it eventually, but I'm in no rush to open Millhouse Manastorm and Gruul.
Missing Edwin/leeroy due to DE, a couple of normal legs that I have in gold (Tirion/Nat/Cenarius), the meme pair of Cho/Milihouse, and gruul. Oh, and Gelbin, once the rotation hits. Probably going to DE Ysera post-rotation, too, of course. Crafted a few things - Thalnos, Alex, probably Lord J. All solid investments for me :)
It was Ancient Watcher that I was missing one of for absolutely ages, eventualy crafted for handlock. Got a whopping total of two classic packs saved up, but not really too bothered, honestly.
Dunscot - will be interesting to see with Cairne, though it'll be old stats in Classic, so I suspect a different card. I also do not know if Jaraxxus is *actually* a changed card, or new jaraxxus is new - it's changing card type, so holding out hope of double Jaraxxus funsies (plus no mention of a dust refund). OBLIVION!

Yeah i dusted my molten giants, so i will get them back after rotation when i open my packs :D
95% complete, I used to have 100% complete but there's not point keeping the absolute trash or powercreeped cards.

I got them all not too long ago, but DEd Edwin VanCleef when he was nerfed.
I played since closed beta and did just about every tavern brawl, but I don't think I ever bought classic packs for real money.
It will be funny if I finally duplicate legendary again, but if they stop handing out classic packs, it might never happen...
