Hello there beautifull people, now that we finally know all the cards lets play a game. The rules are simple, predict the 3 top decks that will dominate the meta and say which deck you are looking forward to play. Then i as a second Kel'Thuzad will revive the thread after one or two months(whenever the meta will be defined) and we will see who's prediction was the most accurate!Glory, internet cookies and beers awaits you!
So i will start first in order to make things as clear as possible!
No1:Murloc shaman!I know that most of you are suprized by my choice but hear me out.Murlocs had always the potential to snowball out of control and win the game in turns 4 or 5,however since their win conditions were only the Murloc Warleader and Coldlight Seer a simple early aoe was enough to win the game. Now though not only they have more win conditions and reload power with Megafin, Finja, the Flying Star and Gentle Megasaur but they have also have more early support murlocs Primalfin Lookout and Rockpool Hunter. It will be a more fload than face oriented deck which will instant win unless you wipe the board multiple times or you dominate it yourself.
No2:A midrange elemental-jade shaman hybrid.Shaman loses his Tunnel Trogg and friends however the mid jade shell is still there and is still strong. In the same time he gets awesome value based early elementals. So combine those facts together and...voila!Of course the deck will be less opressive early but in the same time will have more value in mid-late game.Another strong point of the deck is that will propably counter murloc shaman and control warrior(cheap minions and aoes to counter aggresive decks and undisputed value in the mid-late game).ShamanStone until hell freezes over! :D
No3:Ok this was the most hard choice for me,i was torn between zooish buffadin, control warrior and warlock zoo. However since i must choose only one deck i will go with discozoo.I believe that everyone will try discozoo with the quest at first only to realise that skiping a turn one and losing a card is too slow and not effective so in the end the deck will be refined and will look like a old questless discozoo with Clutchmother Zavas,Devilsaur Egg and Ravenous Pterrordax.
Those are my choices! In general i believe the meta will still be aggresive but because of the new taunts,it will be more fload centric than face centric. As for the deck i look forward the most is an otk giants mage!
What do you guys think? And remember only 3 decks and one deck you look most forward to!
Edit 2/6/2017
Wow...
At least i knew that warlock quest would suck and that midrange pala would be good, even if it was the wrong version...
1. control warrior, super easy rag that won't change your life with a quest that won't kill you for playing it
2. discozoolock or elemental tempo mage, and maybe combo rouge, alongside jade to tech for cw (jade will probably still be tire 3 but it should make up a bigger part of the meta)
3. mid range, with the new, destroy cards in your deck card mid range will be a deadly force but I doubt it will see the most play do to the amount of taunt in this set
The thing is, with so many cards rotating out, its hard to predict without any actual play-testing any potential decks. Only a few quest decks might actually be competitive, and I have a feeling there will be alot more 'viable' or 'playable' fun and enjoyable decks, they may not be tier 1, but they will be hella lot of fun when they work out the way you want.
1. I also agree that Murloc shaman will be good, in fact I think it'll be tier 1. The insane power of murlocs and their synergy with each other has always been a force to be reckoned with, but losing their board to Aoes was always a big problem. Now with Megafin it will be very difficult to run out of steam so you'll be able to stampede over everything before turn 10.
2. Quest Druid is going to be insane. Once you get the reward you can do insane comboes with leeroys, C'Thuns, Malygos, everything. The most difficult part is getting there, of course but with strong cards like Elder Longneck and Shellshifter you can complete it relatively fast. Celestial Dreamer can also be used. I think murloc shaman and pirate warrior will be the best counters to this.
3. Quest Paladin. Everyone thought that this quest sucked when they saw it, but I think it's gonna be one of the best ones. Pally already has some cheap buff spells with Blessing of Might and Divine Strength, but with the addition of Adaptation the quest can be easily completed around turn 7. Meanstreet Marshal and Primalfin Champion will be excellent cards for this deck. Once you get Galvadon, all you need to do is get him stealth and windfury and on the next turn kill them u using your remaining buff cards on him (Blessed Champion seems pretty good here). Easy otk on turn 8-10 that is mostly only countered by brawl and devolve is going to be scary.
So the deck I mostly want to try out is Quest Rogue, I've always loved [deck]shadowcaster[/deck] and it seems like a lot of fun to use things like 5/5 Moroes [/card]and 5/5[card]swashburglar. I think the deck will be good but not OP, just because of how difficult it will be to set up. Hopefully my predictions don't go too far off!
- Midrange-Quest Hunter: the 20 1-drops approach seems clunky, so the quest could be a lategame refuel for a refined list and with all the anti-aggro tools the old midrange could be again the counter to all the greedy control decks.
- Control-Quest Warrior: as there will always be aggro, the taunt warrior looks like the perfect answer, with so many new good taunts and the quest that provides the reach it always lacked.
- DiscoZoolock: It could include the quest, but in this case i don't see it absolutely necessary. As i said before, there will always be aggro and this seems like the perfect deck for all those looking for budget options, it can be great against midrange decks that don't use a lot of the anti-aggro tools. So it closes the circle.
This is my "Holy trinity", the one i see rising. Which one will be number 1 will depend the current moment of the meta, each of these decks could be at the top but if i have to guess right now:
I see 1°Midrange -> 2°Zoo -> 3°Control. The control option is always the most expensive and won't see as much play, so with the rise of Midrange then Zoo will be the natural counter, but Midrange can adapt it lists to take a middle ground.
1) Quest Control Mage: Arcane Giants + Time Warp for 16 burst, plus any burn spells you have. Should be quite powerful. The only question is the consistency of surviving to that point.
2) Midrange Dinomancy Hunter: I think Dinomancy will be incredibly powerful. The success of this deck depends on whether or not aggro decks continue to dominate the meta. If they do, I doubt ANY hunter deck can survive. Maybe all the new taunts can help, but I still don't know about defensive tactics in Hunter.
3) Elemental Control Shaman: They certainly gave this deck enough tools to be great. Will probably have the flexibility to play like a midrange deck too.
#1 - raptor/1 mana hunter. This will become a pain once they figure out they can stealth adapt tundra rhino and get massive card draw through for instance cultist or alternatively fill their hand with beasts using the spell whilst buffing their hero power to generate 5/4 charge raptors each turn.
#2 Firelord taunt warrior. It's gotten insane suppost this upcoming expansion and will be very resiliant through the board and hero power. Shield slam will still be a thing.
#3 Buffadin. No seriously, won't even tell why. Let's just say a very important piece of the puzzle has been found.
i'm placing my bet in an aggresive mid-range quest rogue, a quest control warrior as the quest decks that will make it to the meta because they are easy to finish and actually put your opponent in a clock,
as for the non-quest decks, pirate warrior and jade shamman will still be strong, maybe the loss of azure drake will weaken jade shamman because he relies on the spell power on the azure drake a lot for the draw power you can sue lotus agents.
i might be risking it but i think N'zoth Control shamman will see play on tournaments, maybe not in ladder but in tournaments they can target some decks, they got that new elemental that heals which pretty much is better than earthen ring farseer thanks to the 2/4 stat distribution and the elemental tag being able to activate elementals and you can play it alongside Jinyu waterspeaker to actually have nice healing power,
i din't see anything else that would be tier 1, Ung'oro as a whole sees like a high tier 2 expansion which is pretty much amazing, the Murloc quest while nice is also really diluted now, neptulon worked in gvg lists because ther were high chances you'd get murk-eye and a couple of warleaders, but with the murloc pool drastically increasing there's also a chance to fill your hand with multiple copies of either the AoE 6 drop murloc, the Vanilla 2/1s, the Paladin Murlco that gives the buffs back when it dies t or the one that discover secrets which are pretty pointless at that point of the game.
1. Quest Warrior: the perfect counter for aggro decks. 2. Quest Paladin: I didn't think it would be good until I saw it played on the reveal stream. It can be absolutely insane!! 3. Elemental Shaman: They gave a lot of amazing pieces for this deck.
I look forward to playing any quest deck. It just depends what I pack:)
1- quest hunter. This deck was looking good for awhile, but stampede totally pushes it over the top. Hunter will never run out of steam again.
2- some kind of midrange shaman. Either jade, elemental, or some kind of combination, there WILL be midrange shamans in the meta. Shamans have been the most resilient class in recent years because they have all the tools to both control and pressure the board without having to over-commit. They may have lost trog and golum, but they don't need them.
3- quest warrior. It might not seem that threatening to derp around for a few turns summoning taunts, but they protect the face, and when the rag hero power begins, it all goes downhill.
Sorry, but i can't see ANY card that actually counters Jade Druid at all. Yes, it loses Brann Bronzebeard and Azure Drake but it will keep nearly all key cards. I can't see Jade Druid something else as a Tier 1 deck, especially when it heavily counters Quest Warrior.
@OP

What there seems insane will never work in the real life, simply because there are decks out there that can kill you on turn 6. This new 8 mana spell paladins get is simply too slow. i think the best deck will be
midrange jade shaman
murloc decks (shaman and paladin)
elemental shaman
i will play elemntal shaman a budget version
3.2.1 kill shot
1. control warrior, super easy rag that won't change your life with a quest that won't kill you for playing it
2. discozoolock or elemental tempo mage, and maybe combo rouge, alongside jade to tech for cw (jade will probably still be tire 3 but it should make up a bigger part of the meta)

playing wild
~nomad
ohh I also think shr will see a lot of play
playing wild

Question everything.
quest hunter, quest warrior, miracle rogue, maybe not the top 3 meta decks but will all see play.
paladin will be playable weeeeeeee.

1. Jade Druid

hunter quest or pirate warrior
shaman
jade druid
1.) Midrange Quest Hunter -
2.) Super Buffadin. (Quest/Handbuff/Auras)
3.) Warp Mage (D-Shift 2.0)
This is a pretty good challenge :D I can't wait to see the results in May!
For Standard i think: 1.) Jade Druid
