whenever I play even shaman, I die to almost every single other even shaman I fight. I dont get it, you would think that because we are playing the same deck we would have the same odds. but I lose almost every single game. I guess my opponents know something about the mirror matchup that I dont. so I would like to ask, what are you supposed to do in the even shaman mirror?

Rejoice, for even in death, you have become children of Thanos.
Thats because of the RnG (Card Draw, Top Deck, Better hand) and of course your skill of playing Even Shaman.
every time I ask this, people just say "it depends mostly on draw" but then you would think that at least some games would turn in my favor. I guess I am just bad at even shaman. which is rather sad considering how much I have played it.

As a board-centric deck, losing board presence in the early game will almost always mean defeat. Keep tabs on the state of the board for the early game. When the game gets to Hagatha, it's very RNG-dependent.
Also, and I've found this out while playing a lot of Odd Warrior mirrors (I know, ResidentSleeper), mulligan is everything in mirrors. Understand your deck, its strengths and weaknesses, and maybe even consider teching against the mirror-matchups, if need be.

Dad, husband, gamer, fueled by coffee.
Currently playing Dragon Galakrond Priest, Dragon Galakrond Warrior and Highlander Dragon Hunter.
Use your jade claws and burn spells to remove their minions. DO NOT go face with them unless it's to set up lethal. People still do this at rank 2-1 which absolutely boggles my mind.
These are two key things which make me win about 75% of the mirrors.
Also run a good even shaman list.
No Hagatha, no windfury, no hex etc...

Is it for Wild or Srandard? It is a lot about resource management, mulligan and realizing if your version is faster or slower.
Whoever gets ahead on the board usually wins.

Is Hagatha even played that much? I certainly don't use her in Wild and don't miss her. The keys are:
-Draw Thing from Below, preferably both!
-Get lucky with Devolve and deny value from your opponent's Devolve.
-Be very concious about your use of removal, especially Crackle.
-Think trough your first 3 turns very carefully, especially of to be proactive/reactive with your 2-drops.

Resource Management is key in the mirror.
In average, assuming both players try their best to fight on Tempo, Value cards give you an edge.
Imo, Ancestral Knowledge is the best compromise, without having to throw too many slow cards in your deck.
Use devolve on their 4 mana 7/7s.
