the first 2 drop 2/4 with taunt come out... for priests
*crying druid tears*
but seriously im happy to see a good dragon tempo deck, especially since its so defensive that it would be moderately fun to play against and A LOT of fun to play as. now i just need to open packs with more than just a single rare so i can dust up the new synergy
I took my dragon priest deck from 14 to 10 on a win streak yesterday. Was very impressed with how well it did, if you are able to play everything on curve the game is easily won. I was finally stopped by handlock, and I wasn't running Lightbomb, seeing most of you have that card included I think I'll add that to hopefully help in that matchup.
I'm very happy with the Dragon Priest decks I have played so far! Back when BRM was new, I had a Dragon Priest deck, and it was a blast to play and it did pretty well over all. But now, these decks are much better tho :)
So happy I don't have to deal with the Deathlord anymore!
As far as legendaries are concerned, I have Chromaggus and Nefarian. I also added Emperor Thaurissan, Dr. Boom and Ysera. I don't have Cabal Shadow Priest, and I don't have Dark Cultist yet (still working on unlocking Naxxramas' third quarter with gold). The rest is/was nearly identical.
I don't know if it's just me, but I seem to have major trouble actually getting dragons in my hand in decent quantity. In about half my games, I end up dragon-starved quickly (unless I draw the dragon legendaries), making "if you're holding a dragon" cards often lose out on their effects. I wanted to play dragon priest for a long time and it seems to be all the rage recently, but I seem to have consistency issues with it. Even after I added two Dragonkin Sorcerer (amazing with Power Word: Shield and Velen's Chosen), I still have consistency issues with having dragons in hand.
Nevertheless, when it gets going, it *really* gets going and that's fun as hell. I'll keep trying.
This is the time for priest to shine, but in your deck i would replace SWD for Sylvanas, Nefarian for Ysera, and the hungry dragons for Auchenai or Azure drakes
Yeah the aggro tempo mage eats the Dragon Priest for lunch, but that's about it tho. Unless I have a REAL bad start, with no early game minions...hunters and even Aggro Paladins are food for my dragons!
I cut the Lightbomb because I'm not facing nearly as many Patron and Handlock decks as I thought I would. I will also admit that I was wrong about Saraad, he's much too slow for this deck.
I am not entirely sold on Justicar in dragon priest, can you try and elaborate a bit on your thought process?
To be completely honest, it's just something I'm trying out, and not totally set in stone, but the long term value she can provide is immense. Often times I find that, while my minions are almost always trading up, they're not left with much health afterwards and are vulnerable to any form of AoE. Being able to restore their health to full whenever I want is a huge boon.
Again, this is just a theory, and she might be too slow for this deck, but we'll see.
I like the basis of the deck, but I have to chastise you for only running 1 Corruptor. The value it gives is just so good, being an immediate 2 for 1 in almost all cases.
Also, having played with Chillmaw, I think I was right; it's not good in priest. Holy Nova can easily be taken up to 3 damage, without threatening your own stuff, and the fact that it's a Deathrattle makes it unreliable.
It's a cool deck, OP. I'm also having fun and success with dragon priest. Take a look at mine (with small guide too). I prefer Ysera instead of Nefarian (actually mine doesn't have any BGH target) and the Valkyrs instead of the technicians and cultists. The Valkyrs are great tempo plays and great removal baits / pseudo-taunts. When you manage to buff them it's awesome. What about Justicar? Is she worth it here? I don't usually hero power much in the late game, because there's always something to play on curve, but I see it can be interesting.
Mid game is similar, drop the 3/6 taunt, Belcher, your corruptors, holy novas, remove their stuff, establish your board and GG.
Srsly though, you post an already popularized dragon-priest deck which is on hearthpwn's main page, slightly changing it but strictly to worse, but the most stupid thing about all of this is that comments support it and also live in a world where OP was the first guy to think of such stuff. *facepalm*
3/5 is much better than 3/4. because it dodges a lot of removal. cultist deathrattle hardly matters. rend is a bigger threat than bgh and you dont want to cast bgh early anyway. also rend can kill thraurissan, loatheb and tirion

Have you considered Shadow Madness instead of SW: P? Found it much more useful vs. board flooders^^. Also Wild Pyromancer is staple in my opinion to deal with pala. Btw: Why is everybody playing Rend? For me its a very bad card which most of the time does not do more than BGH. I ould understand the choice if meta would be much slower. For now it seems that people play him because of dragon theme just like technician, which is just worse than dark cultist.
You absolutely NEED Rend to remove Ysera, which is all over the meta. Notice we have no other way of dealing with it due to the 4 attack (only other way is Vol'jin). It's also far from Lightbomb and Holy Novas! To be honest, I've always found good use for him. It never seated idle in my hand in ctrl match-ups.
Regarding Shadow Madness vs SW:P, it's all about the mana cost. If you wait till T3/T4 the opponent might have many small minions on board and dealt almost 10 dmg to your face. With SW:P you remove those pesky bastards right away. Besides the pleasure of removing Belchers, Flamewaker and Twilight Guardians with it! I'll never remove mine.
Too bad, 100 new threads about dragon priest popped up, instead of just posting it here. Im actually playing this list and im quite happy with it
Confuse seems like a really good finisher in it. currently i run Inner Fire, because of budget reasons
id also like to try Eydis Darkbane in it, but dont own her
reynad streamed yesterday with very good list

Went from 14 to 8 easily with my version of dragon priest last night. Ate up that new Shaman totem deck that is all over the ladder.

There are a lot of remedies we don't yet know a disease for.

As an aggressive tempo mage player, I just want you guys to know I'm excited Dragon priest is a thing...!
I'm 6-1 against it at rank 5-4 as opposed to the impossible control priest match. Nom nom yummy weak little dragons. No more stealing my flamewakers!!
Yeah the aggro tempo mage eats the Dragon Priest for lunch, but that's about it tho. Unless I have a REAL bad start, with no early game minions...hunters and even Aggro Paladins are food for my dragons!
Here's an updated version of the deck I'm using:
I cut the Lightbomb because I'm not facing nearly as many Patron and Handlock decks as I thought I would. I will also admit that I was wrong about Saraad, he's much too slow for this deck.
Cards I'm currently toying with:
Dragonkin Sorcerer
Azure Drake
Justicar Trueheart
